The first sump pump that was installed unfortunately had an issue with the lighted plug but they came back out to replace it so it's all good now. I highly recommend Jason to anyone looking for a plumber - he's really one of the nicest plumbers I've met and he'd clearly and patiently answer any questions you may have. Their quote was also competitive. I'd definitely be calling them in the future for my plumbing needs! P.S. if you're unable to reach them at their phone/office number, try messaging them via Yelp. Disappointing experience. I encountered several issues with J. Blanton's service beginning with a…read more$50 consult fee. (This is not industry standard. The plumber I called after J. Blanton didn't charge me anything for an assessment.) So Zach came and gave me an assessment that seemed like a more involved (and pricier) fix than I thought was necessary for my slow-draining bathroom sink, but I'm not a plumber so I trusted him and agreed to the service. He quoted me a time frame "first thing tomorrow morning" and when I asked how long it would take I was told, "not more than an hour." At 1:45 pm my plumber arrived, a young guy, nice enough, he replaced the part that was needed but was not able to rod the pipe. He said it was not possible and said the only way to clear my back-up would be a very invasive major undertaking involving tearing out the pipes from underneath the house and replacing them; a job he estimated at $3,200. I said no thank you. By the time he left four hours later, my sink was in worse condition than when he arrived. It had been a slow drain before and was now at a complete stand still. He left me with standing water in the sink, a big mess on the floor which he did not offer to clean, and the dread of a potentially hugely disruptive plumbing process looming. My story has a happy ending, though. The next day I called Elk Grove Village Sewer & Plumbing. They had someone out to fix my problem (without a costly assessment) the same day and that guy was able to do the "impossible" rodding job in under 15 minutes. My sink drains perfectly now, no pipe-cutting necessary. The redeeming factor I will mention is that everyone I spoke to, including the receptionists, were courteous. Even so, I won't be bothering with J. Blanton again.

My water heater went out. The company that "diagnosed" the problem charged me $99 and said that…read morethis did not include the cost to replace it. The company then quoted me $2200 as the cost to replace it and reiterated that this did not include the $99 that they already charged me. I then got no less than 10 phone calls saying "please give us a call so we can talk about your situation. Some called more than once. Had the toilet back-up. Tried rodding it, and things became worse if that is possible…read more.. Too graphic to explain. The house smelled terrible. Things are coming out of the small side drain. My kids were screaming, my wife was upset, etc. Holy cow it wasn't fun. Called Mark as soon as 7am hit as that was his office hours. Nobody picked up so I left a VM. He responded via text within a minute and texted me a rough cost estimate based on my description (I think he prefers text as opposed to calls). BTW, I felt that the cost was very reasonable. He was at my place bright and early at 8:30am. Mark was friendly, patiently listened to be explain the issue, was willing to get his hands dirty, etc. Like his approach of trying the simple solutions first. Thankfully it worked. He even wanted to check the crawl space below to make sure there was no water leaks. Thank goodness the crawl space was dry with no leaks at all. Talk about professionalism!! Great plumber. Excellent communication. Punctual. What more can a person ask for. Will definitely call him the next time I need plumbing work done. He lives in LaGrange, and his kids go to school here.
