After losing 200+ pounds, my 50-year-old face did not match the image I had of myself. I initially chose Dr. Phelps because of his extraordinary skill in oculofacial plastic surgery. However, when I also find a doctor who is down-to-earth, funny, works collaboratively, and is committed to excellence in his work, I have a doctor for life. I worked with Dr. Phelps on a lower blepharoplasty, lower face and neck lift, and full-face CO2 laser. My primary goal was to look like a refreshed version of myself. Each procedure was performed in Dr. Phelp's beautiful Lincoln Park office where I was comfortable, pain-free and well taken care of. Recovery was much easier than I ever imagined, during which Dr. Phelps and his truly incredible team were readily available if needed. I'm serious when I say that I actually look forward to seeing every person on Dr. Phelp's team! My results speak for themselves! When I look at myself, I see the face of the person I've always felt I am inside. Dr. Phelps is a true artist who brought my vision to life on the canvas of my face. read more

I would unfortunately not recommend Dr. Phelps. I had a consult with him which he was 10 minutes late to. The call lasted about 20 minutes (consults are $250). He spent the majority of the call telling me that it gave him anxiety to operate on someone who doesn't live within driving distance of their office. That's a reasonable policy to have in place but I wish that information had been communicated to me before I waited 6 months for this appointment and paid $250. 19 minutes into talking with me, he said he had a patient who was "actually here in the office" and he needed to go. I found this incredibly rude. During our brief call, I got mixed signals from him about whether or not I would be allowed to have surgery since I don't live nearby. By the end of the consult, I asked the doctor point blank if he would recommend surgery and he said yes it would benefit me. He even sent an invoice for surgery! Then, the office informs me that he does not in fact recommend surgery. So Dr. Phelps lied to me during my consult. After a conversation with Jasmine the manager, it was clear that no one was at all sympathetic to my confusion and concerns. I was able to get my consult fee refunded which I was grateful for. However, I received no apologies and, overall, my experience at this facility seems fairly unacceptable for a doctor's office. read more

Yes, I am in fact your patient. I had to wait more than a couple of months but I had a follow up appointment with Dr Phelps' and his demeanor completely changed compared to my first visit. He was cold and unsympathetic. Said fillers don't interfere with the lymphatic system. He said he wouldn't dissolve my fillers, that if I was unhappy I had to go elsewhere to get them dissolved. How come he didn't mention this before he injected my face with fillers? Why did he lie about them being temporary ? This dishonest behavior from a doctor shouldn't be legal. He shouldn't be allowed to inject people with anything. My experience has been horrific. Please avoid the tears I had to shed from this experience. I don't understand how these people go to sleep at night when they cause so much suffering for money. read more

I would highly recommend Dr. Phelps and his team. Every interaction I had with each member of the team was of the greatest professionalism. It was very comforting to see them all work together for one common goal. Sometimes going to the doctor you feel like you're just a number. Here you feel like you're part of the family. I was a bit nervous having such an invasive surgery but felt comforted as Dr. Phelps's and his team put together a perfect plan and also took the time to be sure I understood all my options. They also followed up several times to be sure my recovery was going smoothly. Extremely happy with the whole process and the outcome. I only regret that I didn't have this done 20 years ago. read more

They are very kind and patient people and I truly appreciated their understanding as I went through this process and am still waiting for my 6 week results. Dr. Phelps is wonderful and explained everything to me. He was very thorough and made sure I understood what would be happening before, during and the recovery. My mother is a patient of Dr Phelps and it was the best decision we made to go forward with him as her surgeon. It was an amazing experience from consultation to surgery date to follow up! I care for my mother so of course it was a priority she was in the best hands possible getting her upper lids done. I observed the doctor including his staff during her consultation and everyone treated her like a rockstar. To know your mother is in the best of hands is a priceless feeling. I'm extremely grateful and thankful my mother was referred to Dr Phelps' office. read more

I had a great experience with Dr. Phelps and I highly recommend his services. His office environment is warm and sunny and his staff are kind and friendly, while being very professional. I was really encouraged by the success photos on Dr. Phelps' Instagram. I had the works; upper and lower eyelids, brows and bags, as well as the CO2 laser resurfacing. My pre and post op directions and supplies were helpful, clear and easy to use. The recovery was waaaaay better than I had expected. I am thrilled with my results and see very noticeable improvement in all areas. This was a nice treat for myself and I am so happy I did it. read more

After a long journey trying to treat and heal my wife's eye issues a friend of my wife's had recommended we consult with Dr Phelps. We had visited and consulted with numerous other Dr.'s over the past decade whom stated their was little they could do to treat her condition. After our initial consultation he recommended outpatient surgery as he was confident the results would greatly improve her aliment especially regarding the aesthetics. We moved forward with the recommended course of action and the results are just spectacular. My wife and I couldn't be happier. His staff, Maria and Jasmine are top notch, professional and are the best medical staff we've encountered. Dr Phelps credentials are impressive, his results are even better. We highly recommend consulting with him regarding your Oculofacial needs. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Phelps. I searched and searched reading reviews and seeing before/afters (him posting on instagram) is what sold me because his transformations are incredible. Him and his staff are so kind I always felt very comfortable and informed every step of the way. I received lower blepharoplasty and WOW I feel so refreshed and feel like Dr. Phelps brought so much life back to my face. I do not look tired all the time and I feel so much more confident. I came across Dr Phelps after doing extensive internet research and also having long conversations with various acquaintances of mine who have undergone the procedure that I was looking into. After many years of heavy eyelids and very baggy eyes ( hereditary) coupled with a lazy eye, which had only gotten worse over the years I decided to take the plunge and do something about it. I had several consultations with different doctors but the minute I walked into Dr Phelps office I got a feeling I was in the right place. I was not wrong. From Maria at the front desk, to the nurse who performed a pre eye exam on me, to the actual consultation with Dr. Phelps I felt completely relaxed and so welcome by all of the very patient staff. Trust me, I had a lot of questions and fears about the procedures, but I left my appointment very confident and excited to proceed with my surgery. Fast forward. It's been exactly a week since my surgery. I followed all of Dr Phelps and his teams pre and post surgery instructions to the letter. My recovery has been remarkable. Barely any bruising, minimal swelling....and already my results look amazing. It's still early days and I still have a little healing to do, but I honestly couldn't be happier. I cannot recommend Dr. Phelps and his team highly enough. But don't take my word for it. He has a pretty amazing Instagram account. See for yourself!! read more

I had a upper blepharoplasty and CO2 laser done with Dr.Paul Phelps and he was fantastic! From the first consultation I already felt comfortable with him and his staff. He was super friendly, excited to have me in his office and knowledgeable. Maria, Jasmine and Sergio were a 5 star team too. I felt at home and super well taken care of. The surgery was super smooth, and I did not feel any pain. Dr.Phelps called me next day in the morning to see how I was doing. I will totally recommend him to my friends and potentially come back for more treatments. read more

I had a fairly large skin tag on the end of my eyelid that refused to reduce despite a variety of OTC products. I finally researched and found Dr.Phelps near me, and was very impressed with his specialty and background. A quick consult laid my anxious fears to rest, and I set an appointment to remove the tag. The procedure went great, and recovery was as predicted. Dr. Phelps and his great staff made this who made the whole experience very positive. I would not hesitate to send friends and family to his practice. read more

Dr. Phelps came highly recommended to me by my dermatologist and I owe both of them a huge thank you! Dr. Phelps and his staff are really amazing. I had an upper blepharoplasty with browpexy and under eye co2 laser resurfacing recently and a week later could not believe my eyes (pun intended)!!! Maria is wonderful at running the "front of the house" to include scheduling, arranging medications, and being a welcoming and sweet presence. Jazmin is a fantastic practice manager in every way, giving clear instructions and hand-holding throughout the process. Dr. Phelps is truly a star. He very carefully explained all my options, patiently answered all my questions, delivered excellent (precise! non-painful! state-of-the-art!) care. As for his bedside manner, you could not be in better hands. Dr. Phelps is professional, kind, extremely knowledgeable, and overall a great person. What a great doctor and staff! I couldn't have been happier. I highly recommend Dr Phelps!

I was really nervous going in to have the xanthelasma removed from my eye lids. Anything having to do with my eyes really weirds me out. Dr Phelps and his staff were helpful and friendly. If you need any oculofacial plastic surgery done, look no further than Dr. Phelps and his amazing staff!!! I had my blepharoplasty done here last week and they were absolutely amazing. Dr. Phelps uses a CO2 laser to perform the procedure which leaves very minimal bruising and bleeding. His entire staff takes absolutely the best care of you. A huge "THANK YOU" to this fantastic team for taking such good care of me! read more

Absolutely amazing experience from start to wonderful and beautiful finish! Could not be happier with the results! I look even better than I had hoped and you truly cannot see any evidence of the surgery other than the amazing results. You can actually see my eyes when I smile! The ONLY thing I would change is having the surgery performed years ago with Dr. Phelps. I located Dr. Phelps from extensive research and consulting with friends in the medical field on the absolute best for blepharoplasty. I then visited multiple surgeons before deciding on the practice. Dr. Phelps was the only surgeon who took a very close look at my eyes (!) and talked about eye health, not just the aesthetic results. I felt 100% comfortable knowing that not only was this his specialty, but that he and his amazing team were the absolute best. They did not disappoint! I have always been self-conscious of my droopy eyelids. As I've gotten older, the droop got more pronounced and uneven. You could not even see my eyes when I smiled and could never tell if I was wearing eye make-up (which just ended up smeared if I wore it). Everyone commented on how tired I looked, even when I was well-rested. I had been thinking about getting the surgery for years and finally decided after finding Dr. Phelps that it was time and that he was the person I wanted to perform the surgery. I had a bilateral upper blepharoplasty and internal browpexy to help the results last longer. I was conscious for the entire procedure which took about an hour, and I went home immediately after. I have never used contacts or had any corrective glasses (other than readers as I've gotten older), so was pretty uncomfortable with the idea of "things in my eyes" but Dr. Phelps and Marie talked me through the entire procedure and they could not have been more wonderful. I felt 100% comfortable in their care. The method that he uses, a CO2 laser, was really incredible. It minimized the scarring and shortened my recovery time drastically from what I had anticipated before I talked with Dr. Phelps. The recovery was surprisingly fast. I iced as instructed, and limited salt and alcohol (at Thanksgiving no less), used the ointment for my very small stitches and really saw the difference right away. I was able to work almost immediately after surgery and even had zoom calls a few days later. I was only swollen for a week or so and the bruising went away with time and with arnica gel (talk to the team about their new products for post-surgery recovery....amazing!). One week after surgery, I had very little swelling and some limited bruising. Two and a half weeks after surgery, I was in New York and no one could tell I had just had surgery on my eyes! I will share my recovery photos with Dr. Phelps and you can see them on his instagram site. I finally look on the outside like I felt on the inside. It's made all the difference and I cannot recommend Dr. Phelps highly enough. read more

I've had a droopy eyelid for many years. It began to effect my vision especially peripheral. I searched different doctors and read reviews when I came to Dr. Phelps. I carry a lot of anxiety and right from the beginning the calm and confident nature of Dr. Phelps and his office staff put me at ease. I had the surgery across both eyelids for symmetry. Maybe I heal easier than others but I didn't even bruise. I followed his instructions and swelling was practically gone in two days. I dreaded the procedure because of my anxiety but I couldn't have been happier. It was easier than I thought and basically took an hour. The doctor himself calls you the next day which again is very reassuring. I couldn't wait for my follow up after a week so I could show him how well I was coming along! I recommend this doctor and this office from start to finish! read more
