I've been to a Vegas magic show but this was way better- it was intimate, memorable, and felt like a journey. It started with a cool entrance to the venue itself, then table magic with magicians walking around while servers were also getting your order for food and drinks, then moved on to the main show. For premium ticket holders (shocked me I was such, I had no clue I brought a premium ticket, but that's the life of the rich and famous here) you get an additional 30 minute close up magic show in the back lounge. Let me tell you- that BLEW our minds. Still talking about. His name was Chris Mayhew and he is straight magic. Drinks and food were on theme to the magic lounge! 10/10 would recommend for date night, girls night out, adult family night, friend event, etc

A fun experience and actually really good food. We tried the Chicken Sliders, Beef Sliders, and French Fries. Also some various drinks, definitely recommend the Potion No. 0 if it's still around. The magic itself was fun and interactive, they have people coming around before the show starts. If you can, try to get the first or second row. It's worth the extra money.

I was pleasantly surprised. We saw the close-up show. It was super engaging and the magicians were all very impressive. I like how they interacted with the audience. Seating is a bit close together, but it's a cozy environment overall. It was easy to see wherever you're seated. We were all the way up in the back and still had a great view. I like how it's hidden in a laundry mat. I really left wondering how they all orchestrated their tricks but that's part of the pure magic this place brings. I would definitely come again and recommend to others. The drinks were tasty and food seemed reasonably priced, although we didn't eat anything.

This place is so cool! I came here with some friends when they first opened their doors. The exterior looks just like a laundromat, but when they order the doors--it opens to a beautiful lounge. We didn't come for an official show because we had plans to eat dinner elsewhere but the we did see some of the magic at the bar! I loved it! Seating is limited so I would suggest getting there when they order because many people come to drop a drink before their show reservation starts. I would come here again!

A truly magical experience. My family has made a tradition out of going to the Chicago Magic Lounge for the past couple of years around Thanksgiving and every experience has been 5 stars! The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and run a very efficient operation. You start by checking in and your party is led through a deceiving laundromat into the lounge. To the left of the entrance is a bar where you can get drinks before or after the show and watch some bar magic. To the right is a little library room with awesome, authentic memorabilia. The fire place opens and you're taken into the main show room. The vibe in here is awesome--it's dark, moody, and perfectly theatrical. Our party was seated in the first row! For the first hour, it's a cocktail hour. Servers will come around and take drink and food orders. I had the Gone With a Tres (super yummy) and my partner had the hot apple cider special. He really enjoyed it. We also split some fries which were really good! Our server, Will, was extremely friendly and attentive!! During the cocktail hour, magicians will come to your table and do Chicago Close-Up Magic. Magic Sam was hilarious and roped a few members of our party into his trick! The main show had an opener and a headliner. Both magicians were amazing and so funny! There were some opportunities to help out so if that's your thing be sure to get the tickets that let you sit up close! We laughed a lot and were so amazed (and very confused haha) at all the tricks! The main acts were about an hour as well. Since we had the premium tickets, after the show we were taken to the 654 Club. This is an intimate, smaller theater, where another magician will do some more close up magic. It's a really cool experience!! Chicago Magic Lounge never ceases to amaze our family! We are so happy to have started this tradition and look forward to celebrating there. The host, Jan, is such a gem and does a great job of making every party feel welcomed and celebrated in the space. Chicago Magic Lounge is a must do!!!

I've never been to a Magic show but this was def a great intro to it. From the acts to the private show in the back. The seats we go where a bit closer which I do believe is better for the experience. We were both very surprised at how much we enjoyed ourselves. The place itself is super cute and retro loved the feel to it

Such a fun night at the Magic Lounge. I happed to run across a video by Carisa Hendrix about this place. We were already planning a trip to Chicago so I got tickets. It was such a great night. Our server with the beard was adorable and did a great job. The MC was very animated with her announcements and introductions. The two magicians we saw put in a great show. Food and drinks were ok not great but we weren't there for the food. Go if you can. It was really worth it.

This place is so much fun!! I love sleight of hand and watching the magic up close. The magician was great and super engaging with the audience. He picks helpers during his tricks! The magic shows at the public bar are free for everyone to enjoy. I was perfectly satisfied with that and didn't feel the need to pay for the private room magic shows. The interior was really fun and cool too. The entrance of the lounge looks exactly like a laundromat. The restroom has an illusion on the floor. There's a bunch of interesting magic related decor. The cocktails were good but nothing extraordinary. It was definitely the magic and vibes that made the experience memorable and worthwhile for me.

INCREDIBLE. Been hearing about this place for months now and finally gotten around to going.. I'd recommend coming early or check out the front bar (no entry fee) with "bar side" magic. Then the main show was out of this world with a world renowned performer. Drinks and food were stellar. We went for the premium tickets and absolutely worth the extra cost as he got an additional (our THIRD) show in their back close-up, intimate theater after the main show. Looking forward to coming back and showing friends and family. Service was also excellent. Very cool vibes.

Still one of the best experiences in all of Chicago. You really get your money's worth here - the pre show bar show is hilarious, the cocktail hour with close up magic is great, and the show itself is so much fun! Last night was my 5th time and I can't wait for my next time.

Energetic little sprite of a hostess! Cute if a bit saccharine.

This is a cool place to take a date you might be trying to impress. Probably not as exciting for a couple who's been together forever unless one of them is really into magic. The good: All the staff and entertainment are REALLY on their game and hustlin to show you a good time. Tip your performers! From the moment you walk in the door, there's a ton of kitsch and glitz to catch your eye and your fancy. No, you didn't accidentally walk into a laundromat! Hah! There are multiple stages and rooms to catch different styles of magic. They've got magicians from all over visiting. The place is jumping and the host is very enthusiastic and gives a lot of history about the magic scene. I'm really surprised that I didn't like this more. I'm really into fringe theater, clowns, weird entertainment and the like, but I've decided magic just isn't my thing. The bad: This place is not handicap accessible. Maybe they could squeeze you in and work with you but everything is tight and bustling and big person or chair bound person is going to feel incredibly uncomfortable. I know I did. Magic is not for the skeptical or the person who can't help but look for the trick of it. I guess that's me because I could either SEE the trick occurring or if I couldn't figure it out, I felt dumb, rather than awestruck. This is more of a commentary on ME than the venue. But the thing is...the more something costs, the more I need to be amazed. And I wasn't $75 + cost of drinks worth of amazed. The crowd was also full of drunks and hecklers. State Farm did their Christmas party there I guess and they would NOT shut up. In the bar magic area, Derek was doing a fabulous job and really hamming it up but everyone in the booths were damn near ignoring him and talking about dumb stuff no one cares about so loud we couldn't hear the jokes and tricks Derek was slinging. And I get it...tip your performers! But please don't jam it down my throat that you're looking for tips. I could hear his tip jockeying better than I could hear the content of the tricks.

Man lissen' I won't leave no spoilers all I have to say is I had an amazing time the place is beautiful and the staff was top tier ... you go experience it for yourself. Food was cheap but good af too. Highly highly recommend.

Ask the Community - Chicago Magic Lounge

Are kids allowed? Would a 13 yo be able to bring a group of friends for his bday?

Hi Nora! Thanks so much for reaching out. The Chicago Magic Lounge is a 21+ venue. We do allow persons aged 16 - 20 into the Harry Blackstone Cabaret with a parent or guardian. Patrons of the Performance Bar MUST be 21.

What's the difference b/w a weekday general admission seat vs a seated spot for some of the other days?

Our Monday night show, Music & Magic, is general admission which means that our Patron Services staff will select your seat before you arrive. For the remainder of our shows, you can select you seat when you purchase your ticket.

I know there is a matinee Sunday show but is there a bar magician on Sundays at all?

Bar magic is available Sunday evenings from 6pm on, though the front bar is not open during the Family Matinee.

How long is a Friday show?

    About 2 hours.

Do I need to buy tickets for my group if we want to sit next to each other? Are seats FCFS? Can you eat at the tables by stage or will that be in a separate area?

I would buy tickets for the group just to make it easier and there should be a text field to enter any specific accommodations, requests, or to let them know what you are celebrating. When you get there you don't pick your seats, they will seat you… Read more

How long is a Saturday night show?

Show length is 1 hour. But you should get there an hour BEFORE showtime to experience the tableside magic. Many people at that's the best part of the evening. Two showtimes on Fri and Sat. 830 and 11 pm. If you get the premium package you get to see… Read more

Do you need to buy tickets to come here?

The burger was juicy and the bun was soft; didn't feel like I had to unhinge my jaw just to get a bite like with some other burgers. The toppings for the burger paired harmoniously with the patties, with the pickles adding texture and bite. The fries paired with the burger were honestly whatever, but the spicy aoli paired with it elevated eating the fries. We also got an elote app to share. I did enjoy the cheese and corn and how warm and melty they were, but I think it could've gone without the avocado. The mac and cheese though, now that was absolutely delicious. It was gooey and soft, with the breadcrumbs and bacon adding texture and smokiness. The drinks I got, the sylvan and green eyes, were a little strong for me (I prefer sweeter), but nonetheless excellently mixed. If you like strong, classic flavors, these are for you.

Loved the 90s female R&B playlist they had going! Little Bad Wolf has been on my list FOR YEARS to try the burger! My husband got the burger with fried onions and I got some Bao because those also looked delicious and were a popular menu item. Honestly the 3 stars are only that high because of the service. Our server was friendly and attentive + the food came out hot and quick. Unfortunately, the food was pretty disappointing. The burger was swimming in a puddle of grease and just picking it up made your hands greasy + was dripping grease. The fries that came with it were floppy, soggy, and sad...but at least warm? I personally wouldn't order this again. The Bao were better, but small for the price and honestly were just okay? It was nice they gave you sauces you could add, but I found the Bao's to already have enough sauce so I didn't need them. Overall I left feeling confused and disappointed. I don't feel the need to come back here - Little Bad Will was a one and done experience for me.

It's not flashy, it is less busy, and if you don't know... sneeze and you'll miss it. The vibe is dark and moody, with notes of brown and dark blue. The art also fits the overall atmosphere well. I question, however, the large TV screen that seemingly only shows their name. It's not intrusive, just a bit weird. However, it was so dark that seeing the menu was more challenging than it needed to be. I can light it up with my phone, though I do (and did) so at the risk of being 'that guy'. Top-down lighting folks, I see the lamps up there, too! I ordered: - Oysters (4 as-is, 4 with mignonette on the side) - Duck Gnocchi - Sticky Toffee Pudding The oysters were medium-sized and excellent quality! They were delightfully briny and without a hint of cartilage or sand. The first order came with mignonette, and while enjoyable, being a bit of a purist, I put on a second order with mignonette on the side. Sure enough, I found myself adding it of my own accord. All the more evidence the kitchen knows what it's doing! Further proof? The Duck Gnocchi - the gnocchi themselves were soft and pillowy, more so than I've experienced up to this point. The duck in the dish was tender and soft as can be. The veggies (mirepoix) were sliced and cooked perfectly, adding texture, freshness and bulk (fiber?) without overpowering anything. To top it all off, breadcrumbs for a little crunch, and a mild sauce that tied everything together in perfect harmony. For the most important course, dessert, we have the Sticky Toffee pudding. A well cooked, well sauced helping of pudding, topped with a large scoop of ice cream that slowly melted, transforming the flavor as you go. For drinks, I ordered the Charred Boulevardier and the Burnout. The Boulevardier was rich, sweet and savory, in contrast the Burnout was brighter and fresher, and still boozy. While neither drink was a smack to the face with alcohol, after getting up, I could feel the effects. In terms of their service, it was polite and attentive, and all items came out fast! The prices are okay, though if you love oysters, keep in mind they will set you back $4/each! Final verdict: There is nothing at The Good Wolf that I wouldn't happily order again. It is hard to choose a standout when everything was of a high caliber. I look forward to working my way through their menu, and continuing to feed the good wolf (props is you know the story of the Two Wolves).

I would say that for parties of 2 to 4, this is a good joint to hang out in, but any larger groups, I did not see a space to accommodate more than 4 people. The night we were there, they had a cool 80s playlist going and that was nice to sit and chair dance while drinking my cava. The Doctor liked the fact that the beer was really cold. And I loved that they had sparkling wine. There is a small section on the menu for food: chips/salsa, Chile con queso, guacamole, Heartbreaker Burger (Chorizo Smash Patty, Grilled Onion, Cilantro, Chile Con Queso, Pickled Jalapeno, Shredded Lettuce, Jalapeno Ranch, Sesame Seed Bun) and Truck Stop Nachos. I got the Truck Stop Nachos (Black Beans, Queso, Pickled Red Onions, Pickled Peppers, Tomato, Crema). You have the option to add Picadillo Beef, Chorizo, or Carne Asada as protein. But you also have the option to have it vegan. I went with steak. Overall this was a nice snack but would have liked a little more steak added to it. I am not sure if you can order from the menu of Lonesome Rose, but the next time we go, I will ask about that. And I have to remember not to call Lonesome Rose, Lonesome Dove (the novel and mini-series). The selection of cocktails is decent, and it is nice that they have non-alcoholic beverages as well. For those that like hard seltzers, they have those as well as a "Toke Cosmic Berry", which is a THC seltzer. Service was nice, the bartender was attentive and friendly. We will definitely be adding this to our rotation of happy hour places.

Yes the portions are a little smaller for restaurant week, but with four courses I was happy to not feel like a glutton at the end. Incredibly thoughtful and knowledgeable service made this a great choice for dinner. The space is well laid out too. We didn't feel like we were sitting on top of people, and it was easy to have a conversation even when the room was pretty full.

Such an amazing dining experience. Located in Andersonville is this unassuming restaurant . The…read morespace is divided between a cozy, warm , tastefully decorated wine bar restaurant and a tasting room. We were fortunate to be seated in the restaurant portion. Staff were so kind and willingly shared recommendations and explanations to us. They have a happy hour on the weekend. We ordered small plates - shrimp cocktail, deviled eggs, pimento cheese with homemade chips and flatbread. It was more than enough food , but I would like to return to try their cheeses, and larger portions. I am not a fan of most chips, but these were so good, and the pimento cheese was savory , spreadable and very good. The prosciutto flatbread was a mixture of sweet cream and savory. The salt from the prosciutto and the sweetness from the figs was perfect. Our waiter overheard us mentioning an upcoming special occasion and treated us to a slice of cheesecake topped with berry sauce. The cheesecake was so fluffy and the chevre cheese was creamy and had a touch of goat flavor. Uvae lived up to my expectations and we will return.
