Came here in October and it was a phenomenal show! I did not want the night to end. Dinner and a show indeed. Cabaret meets cirque de soleil style acrobatics. Some of it funny and entertaining, some very sexy and risque the crew here did an amazing job at keeping the crowd engaged. Nice intimate setting yet elaborate. I truly loved the show itself. Kudo's to these amazing acts! From singing to dancing, juggling and so on this show is a must watch when they return. My favorite was the two who had the sensual intimate acrobatic act. Classy yet sexy. Food was great as well, drinks flowing and we also got a Birthday dessert for one of the gals in our group. A posh circus on the 14th floor of the hotel Cambria in the middle of the Loop- yes. Emphasis on posh. Pictures will do no justice to this space - it's a glam tent. The performances were all extra ordinary including comedic acts for its slapstick artistry. I especially found the King Kong bit inspiring. As for the rest, the aerialist, juggler, gymnasts etc all were first class and surprising since early on they are part of the " schtick" latter they will reveal their talents. The live band makes a difference. We had the Rosemary Parmesan fries which were probably one of the best fries I've had. This is surely one of Chicago's best-kept dining and entertainment secrets (it's in a rather obscure location). It's basically a cabaret - a combination of fine dining and interactive Cirque Du Soleil-style entertainment in an intimate setting. The elaborate décor will blow your mind. It's absolutely gorgeous. The quality of the food far surpassed typical dinner theatre fare. Each of the four courses was artfully plated, served at the proper temperature, and downright delicious. The goat cheese bell pepper scones app was more of an amuse bouche than a true course and no other bread was served (unless you order Parkerhouse rolls, an à la carte add-on that costs $16. Indeed!). After that, though, portions were ample. The bourbon peached glazed salmon entrée, plated with inventive side dishes, was perfection. Other à la carte dishes and entrée upgrades are available but no one in our party felt the need to order those. The service was impeccable. Variety acts were interspersed between courses - singers, dancers, a juggler, a comedian, an aerialist, and more. There was a lot of talent but it was comic actor Joe who stole the show, portraying several roles. Totally enjoyable and well worth the ticket price. read more

What a fantastic show! Service was top notch, the food was delicious and the show... amazing! The 'tent' is beautiful. It's a gorgeous venue for the fabulous performances. This was our second time, the first was for a wedding that was part of the show. This time we ended here when I learned BenDeLaCreme was going to in the show. The pre-show entertainment was a blast, with performers working the room and interacting with all the guests. BenDeLaCreme, who is new to the show, did an outstanding job. Very funny, off the cuff performance working with the crowd. So many costume changes and so much fun. The other act I'll call out is Duo Rose, an absolutely stunning and gorgeous trapeze act. It brought tears to my eyes. We recommend the show to any and everyone. It's likely we'll be back. read more

Each course felt like its own act, full of flavor, flair, and a little drama in all the best ways. Between the incredible food, the laughter, and the over-the-top performances, it was an experience you taste and feel. We started with warm, buttery rolls, upgraded to the rosemary fries (because how could we not?!), and skipped the salad to save room for the main event. For entrées, we had the salmon and the chicken both tender, flavorful, and beautifully plated. We went to Zinzanni for a birthday celebration, and we were seated 1-2 tables back from the center stage. The ambiance of the room was really special, a combination of "old Chicago" architecture and charm along with some more modern touches. The food courses and overall flow of the evening from check-in to dessert was well paced and organized. Our charcuterie and drinks came out right before the first performance, both of which were good. We were honestly pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food; we expected a dinner show meal to be mediocre, because you're going for the show. But overall it was above average, and the celebration cake was one of the better cakes we've had in a while! I was so sad when the one in SF shut down. I was never able to go even though I had heard so many great things about it so when I saw that they had a location in Chicago, I jumped at the chance to go. The place looks like it was some kind of circus, a very classy circus. Gorgeous chandeliers and lighting everywhere. The show is intimate so even if you are seated at the back, you still feel like you can reach out and touch someone. The acts during my show were amazing. Soaring acrobatics, robust voices, and stunning tricks, but my absolute favorite was Lucy the magician. She was hilarious as well as a wonderful magician. She could keep the crowd entertained and steal the show. My only complaint would be that even though the food was good, the portions were small. We left hungry and had to grab something afterwards. This is a perfect date night or group activity especially a Bachelorette/bridal party. Go and enjoy yourselves! You won't regret it like I did when I missed it. read more

Top notch from start to finish, the staff was excellent and the show was entertaining! We enjoyed live music and the show along with a nice four course meal, it was very nice to get a break from the show for each course! The salmon was delicious served with a nice cream sauce that spiced up the dish and the rice very nicely 8/10. Beautiful bar outside the main room that offered a nice spirit list and we enjoyed bourbon and rose with our meal. Spectacular! What a unique and one of a kind dinner and a show experience! To start it off right we were getting razzed right when we walked in. Loved it! Doily is so sassy - full of light hearted and funny quips. Once wasted at our table, they already had water and the savory tart on the table, and not being a big fan of squash, I really enjoyed it! We then got a round of drinks and shortly there after the preordered bottle of bubbles were brought out with a chill bucket. So nice to not have to wait and ask for one. Service here is on point. All the little nuances like black napkins for dark pants, consistent checkins, detailed explanations of the run of show and menu. Really well done - not exactly your standard server job. Everyone is apart of the show! The show is smartly broken into segments that allow for each course to be brought out, enjoyed, restroom breaks, drinks etc, before the show reconvenes and you can give it your full attention. With the main entree we paired it with the Chasing Venus Sauv Blanc - and it was an approved pairing by our server. The food had mixed reviews and I really enjoyed it! I will say the upgraded dessert nailed it for me. The show has a super fun mix of comedy, crowd work, PHENOMENAL singing, the band throws down hard, and the acrobatic/contortion/aerial amazing performances were jaw dropping. The whole runtime is about 2:30 so do expect to spend sometime here but it (unfortunately) goes by fast. The best description is "it's like an acid trip" at a carnival. 5/5 will come back! I've been wanting to come here for a while, and my bestie surprised me with Galentines tickets to a girl-power sing-along show. Pure Soul performed, singing Beyonce, Lizzo, Whitney, Taylor, and Jessie J. The girlies were out of their seat and dancing. I had so much fun and was sad the show wasn't longer. Outside the theater, there were cute photo booths set up to take Valentinesy pictures. Super cute. We were sat with a pillar obstructing our view, and I asked to be moved before we were even seated, and they said it wouldn't be a big deal because the performers move about the venue- this wasn't necessarily true, and had I not been up and dancing, I would've been disappointed with my spot. They have a dinner and drink menu. I wasn't sure if there was a minimum, so I ordered anyway. We each had a cocktail and shared some snacks. All seats offer a great view. The room is round, which adds to the interesting factor. There are small tables or you may share a larger table with others if you are just a couple. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. We were worried about being late and weren't sure where to go. The staff quickly assisted us. The dinner options are diverse and tasted great. I can tell you my group and I laughed all night and was in awe of the performances and dinner happening here! Then, there is a fun shopping experience out front with beautiful jewelry, head pieces, etc. I bot a little furry clip for my hair (it matched my dress) and it is the cutest! Once we entered and seated, we experienced a bubble show, and acrobatic bike ride. We also had a lot of other interactions that I don't want to give away because you HAVE to go and see what it's all about! The food was really good. We had 4-courses for our meal. This. Show. Was. So. Epic. I came on a company outing. Peeking at the pictures, I thought the circus element would be cool, but I was not prepared at how INTENSE the experience would actually be. Before the show and between performances, the actors roam the room and interact with the crowd. For instance, doing impressive tricks with bubbles or blowing rolls of toilet paper "napkins" in patrons' faces. Center stage is the real deal though. The show is full of variety and literally jaw-dropping skill. Wonderful singers, raucous comedy acts, jugglers, and, the main draw-- the acrobats and trapeze artists. Unbelievable. Truly, unbelievable. The muscle control and presence of mind is out of this world. I didn't even know the human body could do some of these things. Acrobats balancing by biting a bar, trapeze artists hanging off of each other and a swing on a ceiling. Absolutely. Breathtaking. All beautifully costumed and choreographed too. You definitely get your money's worth on the show. There are some cornball moments here and there but it's not hokey in the least. There's something to enjoy for everyone here, and if you're not impressed by the aerial shows....well, I don't think you'd be impressed by much of anything. There was a kid or two in the audience, but I wouldn't recommend it for children, as there's a lot of racy material. Food was decent. I've been to about a dozen dinner shows around the U.S., this is the first and only one I have experienced that does not serve the dinner before the show (or at least at the start of the show). I had not eaten anything since breakfast, saving my appetite for a good meal, but they did not serve the dinner until 9PM at night. Who the hell eats dinner that late? Honestly !! The best thing we did while visiting Chicago!! We've been to Teatro Martini in Buena Park and we were not fond, but this one Zinzanni in Chicago was amazing!! The food was delicious all 4 courses, the price you get for the show and the food seems pricey but it isn't it's a very good deal for what you get ! The show is HILARIOUS ! And isn't basic, the props and acts they do is out of this world. So much talent in everyone!! To the singing, acting, acrobats all of it!! Everyone is so friendly, welcoming and really sweet! Highly recommended if you're visiting Chicago and want a good show/ nice dinner. Also surprisingly we got the outer most section which cost the least amount and we thought by looking at the legend of seats and views it would be further out and hard to see but you actually get your own booth and see a perfect view of everything !! Amazing show and worth every penny in my opinion! This show comes with a 4 course meal (hummus appetizer, salad, main course, and dessert), and although it is expensive, the 3 hour show and 4 course meal together are definitely worth the price for a special occasion! The show is very impressive with jugglers, acrobatics, comedy, and much more. This is not your run of the mill circus and was much more aesthetically impressive than I was expecting! There are 4 main course options including chicken, mushroom risotto, shrimp pasta, and pork shoulder. My table tried all 4 and I have to say that the best two dishes are definitely the chicken and the mushroom risotto, which were both delicious! For dessert you can choose between chocolate torte and a raspberry sorbet. For an additional charge of approx $9, you can upgrade your dessert to a slice of Zinzanni cake or rainbow cake. Both the chocolate torte and the upgraded zinzanni cake were delicious! Coffee, juices, and alcoholic drinks are an extra charge. Also, there is a $10 per person hospitality fee which is tacked onto the bill for every table at the end of every performance. I've got nothing but love for TZ. The artists are all amazing (those who use their voices as well as those who use their bodies), the atmosphere is fun, and the good times roll. They have a full bar and the food is good. Kudos for being very aware/accommodating of dietary restrictions that are shared in advance. The pork and salmon were tasty although the curry received less than rave reviews at our table. The dessert was a bust for all of us, but we really paid for the entertainment. I think we owe the Chef and kitchen staff some grace since each course is served to everyone at the same time. That requires a lot of skill and balancing.  Note that the tables are very close together. I mean, super-close. For 2+ hours there's not a lot of wiggle room. If that matters, you might opt for something other than the center tables closest to the performers. But then you're a bit removed from the performers although they certainly get around. I recommended TZ to a neighbor based on my 10/10 experience and he's bringing a party there to celebrate his partner at the end of the month. It's just that good. Enjoy!! read more

I really wasn't sure what to expect from Teatro ZinZanni but let me tell you : it does not disappoint. It's dinner meets burlesque, meets comedy show, meets interactive activation, meets the best time of your life. I was laughing for about 75% of the show and in total awe the other 25%. The actors were amazing, engaging, friendly, fun and honestly just really good at their craft. They kept the crowd engaged, the were never out of character and the experience was curated from start to finish. The food was decent although honestly it's not what you go to Teatro for. I didn't order a cocktail but others in my part did and were super happy with them. I would definitely recommend you try this show when visiting Chicago. It's a must see. I didn't really know what to expect walking in to Teatro ZinZanni at the Cambria Hotel. I'd read some of the reviews on Yelp (mostly to figure out what food to order), and I'm glad the entire show was a surprise to me. I went with a group of colleagues and we were seated around the outer perimeter of the "tent" in cozy booths. According to the website, the further in you're seated, the more expensive the tickets are. The booths were comfortable but my view was a bit obstructed either by other tables in front of us or pillars holding up the tent. Closer tables can see more of the action but are more expensive and you might get called on for "audience participation," so be aware! Tickets can include a four course dinner and the show and your choice of seating options, or you can get tickets for just the show itself without dinner. The dinner included a small plate of hummus and pita chips, salad, choice of entree (only one vegan option), and a flourless chocolate cake dessert. The timing of the courses was great and I felt like I had plenty of time to eat while being entertained throughout the evening. The food was decent, but if I went back I'd probably just eat dinner beforehand as the main draw for me was definitely the show. The salad was a little boring, and it had raisins on it which I feel is an incredibly polarizing ingredient. The chicken was good - the plate came with two boneless thighs. One piece was dry, one was juicy. I liked the polenta and asparagus, both were cooked well and flavorful. The cake was super decadent. There are some other appetizers you can order as well as some additional desserts for an additional charge. I appreciated that they had a couple mocktails on their menu. The butterfly pea flower lemonade was sweet and refreshing. The show itself was incredible! I honestly was blown away. It's a bit campy and silly at times, but at one point I was actually brought to tears with the beauty of the performance. It's a little bit of improv, comedy, some slapstick, a musical twist, and Cirque du Soleil vibes. I'd say some of the themes were PG-13 in nature, not a big deal to me but for those who might be sensitive to "raunchier" comedy, this may not be for you. I believe this show is ending soon, so I'm interested to see what comes next for this theatre. Definitely a unique venue and wonderful experience that I would happily pay for. read more

I went with a large party for a work function and really had no clue what to expect before arriving. But this isn't just any dinner show...this is an immersed experience from the time you're seated to the end of the show. The acrobatics, strength and flexibility of the performance staff was extraordinary. Seriously, no one should be able to contort their body into shapes and positions like these performers do. It almost defies all science and physics. I can't say too much because it could ruin your experience but believe me when I say....WOW!!! The food was very good based on the menu options. I ordered the herb-roasted chicken thighs with veggies, a few ZinZanni Old Fashioneds (made with Four Roses bourbon, black cherry and orange), hummus and a salad. But if I'm being completely honest...I barely remember the food. The show stole it all for me! Doily (performer) was comical the entire time and played her role perfectly. The bartending staff was super-friendly and the vibe of this place mimics something you'd see if you traveled back in time to the Prohibition Era. I absolutely loved everything about this experience and haven't stopped talking about it enough to my wife. Next time I'm in Chicago, I will be getting tickets to Teatro ZinZanni again! We came here as a group for a work outing and it was super fun! You have to wear masks here still so come prepared but they do have some masks available at the door if you forget. The show is incredible! Funny and lots of comedy. It's a drag show which is cool and they have amazing singers in true Chicago fashion. They also have some fun acrobatic and contortionists in the show too. It was fun at every turn. They serve you dinner which in included with your ticket as well as dessert. If you want appetizers those are extras. We did order a few appetizers to share and the best ones were the goat cheese and the crab cakes!! We got the last crab cake as they were so popular definitely try those if you can. We also ordered some cocktails, all of which were tasty. And we got a flight of Prosecco's which was delicious as well. Our bill came out to about $150 (not including dinner, just appetizers and drinks). So a little pricey but for the experience it was ok. Giving a 4 stars because the entree was bland and not that impressive. The salad was ok, nothing too special. The Brussel sprouts were also mediocre. And by the time dessert came I was stuffed so couldn't eat it. But they didn't have the rainbow cake available either. My sister was visiting and I decided to take her to see the show. The performance was fantastic and of Vegas caliber, albeit the actual performance run time felt less than the 3 hours it took for the show to complete. The reason for this is the downtime for serving each meal course. The downtimes were substantiated with comedic fillers, sometimes with random audience participation. The performers were very talented, friendly, and were available for photos after the show. My sister was quite enamoured by one of them and she was so happy she got to take several photos with him at the end and he stopped by our table for a selfie as well, mid-performance! The food was good. They have several appetizers to choose from which aren't part of the dinner and show ticket. We tried the crab cakes for $28 which came with 2 small crab cake patties on a bed of greens with lemon aioli dressing. They weren't the best crab cakes I've ever had and were small for the price. I would say about 5-6 bites if I am being generous. I also purchased a bottle of wine ($73 bottle or $19 for a glass) after we finished our initial cocktail hour drinks. During cocktail hour, I ordered a glass of the same wine and my sister had a sparkling rosé. For 2 glasses of wine, it came out to $38 prior to tips. We didn't order any extra dessert and by the end of the night, our bill with the added $10 per person service fee came out to almost $200 or pretty much another ticket. And of course, they encourage you to tip which, you should. The food quality was okay, nothing to write home about. I can't remember anything overly impressive about the salad or the main course. Overall, we had a good time albeit the entire thing was quite pricey. Since it was a once in a lifetime opportunity for her, I would say it was worthwhile. Teatro Zinzanni is a unique and fun experience; there's not much like it around. I went with some family members a few weeks ago and we had a wonderful time. I'll try to avoid giving details because the randomness of it is part of the charm. I will say that the show is interactive and the closer you are to the front, the more likely it is that you will be asked to participate! All of the performers are very good at what they do. The singer is amazing, the improv person is very sharp and funny, and so on. Dinner is served in courses during the show and the food was respectable.
