Definitely an unprofessional place. I had an odd interaction here where a worker asked if "I had a father at home". Very odd as it had nothing to with the product I was gonna buy and couldn't help but feel that it was racially motivated. This place is a gem! I have been finding dresses from then since they've been in the Bronx. And then they moved to the Westchester, which is closer to me, so I love it! I have found dresses from them for my Sweet 16 and my prom and now that I'm older wedding guest dresses and dresses for parties. Everyone is so nice here and helpful and pleasant and kind! I've worn cocktail dresses and formal dresses- but it's been a while since I've worn a gown for a black-tie event. And even with the 3 floor-lengths I have in my closet, I was having anxiety because I needed an up-to-the-minute gown. I was stuck between Bloomies, Neiman or Nordstrom to find one. Quite honestly, I didn't find anything I liked until my auntie-in-law told me about this place on the 2nd floor at The Westchester to purchase a gown for hubs' 3rd(?), 4th(?) [are they even still related?] cousin's wedding. Chic B. is a paradise for gowns practically in every color, sleeve style, cinched at the waist, etc. I remember these folks when they were located at the Galleria in White Plains and before the mall closed its doors for good, these folks booked and looked for greener pastures here. I wanted to go all out with some ritz, glitz and flowy fabric. I knew that some tulle and beaded embellishments here and there, weren't going to hurt for the June wedding I'll be attending. Natasha was great and helped me locate a black beaded gown with split-capped sleeves. I tried it on in late May, was perfect, paid and out I went with my gown in hand. I tried my newly-bought gown with a pair of thin, strappy 4" Calvin K. sandals I have at home- but the dress was way too long. Returned with sandals in hand one day after work for a fitting and the tailor pinned the hem. Great. Because the beaded tulle had to be cut, that just added extra labor and attention- not to mention, cost. Truthfully, I didn't want the added $200+ for a hem in addition to what I just paid for the gown. I tried to finagle my way out of paying that when I asked to exchange the dress for another that didn't require any alterations, NO. Asked again in case I didn't understand him- still NO. Now mind you, I had just bought the dress on a Saturday, then had it sized on a Monday after work and wayyyys before my event for crying out loud and can't exchange it?!?! In the end, I paid it. Here's another issue I had- payment for repairs have to be made on the spot. Now let me get this straight- NO exchanges and HAVE to pay for repairs even before your dress is altered??? So if the tailor messes up, now you're stuck with a lopsided gown? (not that- that's going to happen)- get the hell outta here. Listen, the one star is for Natasha who was awesome. And the gentleman who stays at the register everyone keeps writing about? Well, it's true. Aside from the slight language barrier, he's uptight. I get it- he's not the bubbly type- but his attitude or lack of really gets in the way from that positive customer service. So if you're looking for a gown, really go elsewhere that have proper return/exchange policies in place. This isn't the store where you can exchange your gown for another prior to your event- even if you 'saw something else on the floor that caught your eye' nor is this the place to "return within 30 days"- EVEN with store receipt. read more

Writing this review to help all hard working families. I recently went to buy my daughter a prom dress. There was a huge selection and the staff was helpful. However the dress had a couple of damages: zipper damage and beads/sequin damage. They said they would fix for free. After paying more than $400 dollars for the dress I needed to go back to get the damages fixed. Out of curiosity I went online and searched the dress. BOY was I so disappointed and regretted getting the dress. The dress was on multiple trusted sites for less than half the price. It sucks because they have a final sale/no exchange policy. Definitely should have done my research before purchasing. Anyway just wanted to write this to help anyone out there. Go try dresses on and then look them up! Do not pay double unless you don't care about spending. I understand the store has bills to pay but I feel they are up charging more than what's fair. read more

I went to Chic Boutique in White Plains with the quinceañera court just to try on and pick up dresses and shoes--nothing complicated, no alterations, no special requests. Still, the experience was awful. The older gentleman there, who I believe is the owner, was incredibly rude from the moment we walked in. Instead of being helpful or even remotely polite, he acted like we were an inconvenience. We were simply there to get what had already been selected and paid for, and yet he was short, condescending, and completely dismissive. There was absolutely no reason for that kind of attitude. For a boutique that supposedly caters to special occasions, the customer service was anything but special. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, especially for an important event. We left feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. I will never go back. read more

They are ruthless. Prom shopped with my daughter. Felt a lot of pressure to make a decision because as per the sales associate "there weren't many left". Bought the Sherri Hill dress and it was a Sunday. Walked the mall and had a sense my daughter wasn't really sure. Went back to the store to ask for it to be voided and Steve said "no". It was within an hour. He couldn't because Sherri Hill doesn't allow it. He could have voided the sale as the order didn't even hit the Sherri Hill Warehouse. So then I stupidly went back for alterations. Had a sales associate pinning the dress, not a tailor. Wanted to charge almost $250. Grabbed the dress and walked out. Took it to Nordstrom for alterations where the customer service is outstanding. SAVE YOUR MONEY! Go elsewhere!!!! read more

I ordered a dress from them 11/on 2023 I was told it would be in by Christmas, it was not i was then told right after New Year's again the dress did not arrive. I went in asking for a refund as I was running out of time to find a dress. I was told all sales are final and I had to find another dress in the store. How is the sale final if the dress never arrived? They told me my only option was a credit. They deserve 0 stars. read more

Purchased a dress here for my son's wedding. Service was good while purchasing, however, they accidentally packaged up the wrong dress and sent me home with it. It never occurred to me to check it, and I left it in its packaging for a few weeks. When I finally I looked I was horrified to find a completely different dress.I called them immediately and they told me this had "never" happened before and said there was "no protocol" for this -- they seemed unsure what to do. I had pictures of myself in the correct dress and suggested that I forward them to their email so they could begin a search. They said they would search. I heard nothing back and was extremely anxious about it. I got back in touch and they had me send the pictures again. Days passed and I began to be frantic and started to think about buying another dress under emergency conditions. It turned out that the principals were not there on those days due to family emergencies. This can happen; even the mistake of sending me home with the wrong dress could have been just an error. THE PROBLEM ESCALATED with how they handled it. Although fortunately one of them who eventually came back to the store had put aside the correct dress, they did nothing to mitigate my aggravation and distress. They had not communicated with each other so with each person I spoke to, I had to go through the process again and they had no idea how to help me. They did not offer to ship me the correct dress even though I asked. I had to take time off from work and make a separate trip at my own cost of time and money. Their attitude was poor as they explained there was "nothing" they could do for me to make up for the week of aggravation. Finally the owner picked up a random piece of inexpensive jewelry and said "take this". I said I wasn't wearing something random to my son's wedding and he said that he would "take care" of me when I came back for alterations. We left it like that but I was very unhappy with their lack of responsibility. I felt they should have offered to ship me my dress and pick up the wrong one. I also felt that they could have offered me something 'real' (a discount on alterations, a handbag, something). They took no responsibility for their actions and my week of significant distress. The owner was dreadful. I later came back for the alterations. I stood and was pinned as expected. When I then got to the register the owner no longer wished to do anything about what had happened. As a business owner myself I was outraged. I would never treat a client that way. What's the big deal? You break even or even take a small loss when you mess up. It happens. But the owner wasn't interested. I got really angry and he eventually offered me $25 off of $325 in alterations. This was less than the piece of jewelry he had previously offered me and was probably the first time (literally) that I yelled at someone in decades. Frankly, I wanted the other shoppers in the store to hear what was going on, how dreadful their service is when something 100% their fault happened. The owner then handed me back my credit card and said he would not fix the dress. I was happy to leave at that point and started to take my dress and go. He physically stopped me and insisted on taking out every single pin that had been put in for alterations. I asked if he was kidding but he wasn't. He was not content to take out the main pins so that it would all have to be pinned again, he made me stand there while he took every single one out, even though it was clear I would have to be pinned and altered elsewhere. I had not even argued over the $325 alteration charge, which seemed very high to me. I happened to have another appointment for alterations at Nordstrom for later that day (rehearsal dinner dress). I brought along the Chic Boutique dress and lo and behold the alteration price was about $170. Nordstrom's alterations were literally almost half the price of Chic Boutique. Chic Boutique is a ridiculous rip off on alterations. BTW, if you open up an account at Nordstrom they give you $200 worth of free alterations, which almost covered my TWO dresses. If I could give zero stars, I would. Chic Boutique may be fine if you have no problems, but if there are any issues, even completely of their making, they behave abominably. And their alteration prices are ridiculous. Advise re the owner? Don't trust him as far as you can throw him. He's a nasty, greedy, vindictive man uninterested in righting any wrongs if it costs him a dime. All in all, a horrible experience. read more

We ordered a dress online and was supposed to pick up there and they said they emailed us that we couldn't get the dress. Well we didn't get the email and they have no Proof that they sent an email, non coroportive staff there. April 24 2024...Went into this store because I've passed several times because of the nice display of dresses...Was in there today with my daughter..No hello or acknowledgment from the white guy at the cashier or the white women..My daughter and I browsed for some time til she found a dress..it had no price tag...so the only worker I see was a short Indian lady with glasses assisting a white women and her daughter..I asked her "Are you the only sales here"..she said very bluntly "No it's more of us" I said "Well I don't see anyone elsel so she called another sales person to assist us...My daughter and I stood there 5min...no salesperson...So I put the dress down and said "If this is the type of customer service y'all provide by catering to white people only I will not spend my money in here!...and we left...As we were coming out another black women and her daughter was about to enter the store and I told them they are racist do not go in there...The women thanked me and said I sure won't...She turned around and we both went to Northstrom!... read more

My friends and I went this morning to look at the prom dresses. We grabbed a bunch and took them to the fitting rooms. There were two ladies there who were completely disrespectful. The one girl put all the dresses back that we picked out and instead of apologizing and helping us find them, she rudely said "well then go find them". The attitude from this young worker was completely out of line to say to a costumer. Knowing she made a mistake and put them back on us, the polite thing would've been to help us look for them, but instead we were told rudely to go find all 6 dresses by ourselves again. I visited the Chic Boutique yesterday with my daughter to look for Mother of the Bride gowns. I was pleasantly surprised at the vast collections of gowns that they had. All the gowns were beautiful and the prices were very reasonable. The personal service from Barbara and Natasha was amazing. Barbara knew exactly what I was looking for a brought me so many selections. Their customer service went above and beyond. I said "Yes" to the dress and had a wonderful experience.
