The food was very good, the waitress was extremely friendly and on top of everything. Never had to ask for anything.

This is the worst chicken Pad Thai I've ever had. I'm not sure what this is supposed to be but it's horrible. Don't order the Pad Thai!

If you want good Chinese food, Chi Thai is excellent. If you want it the same day, use Door Dash or Uber Eats or another delivery service . DO NOT GO IN !!!! We sat for 20 minutes before I could get the hostess' attention to bring water. Another 15, and we were never approached by a server. As I was leaving the hostess said " I'm sorry, there are only 2 of them." Ummmm, there were only TWO OF US !! And maybe a total of 7 tables, the most being 6 people. So glad this place delivers! This is our first Chi Thai experience and I'm already scanning the menu to see what I'll try next time. All of our food was nice and hot when it arrived on our door step via contactless delivery. All together my husband and I ordered crab rangoon, szechuan dumplings, chicken and broccoli, and general tso chicken. Everything was amazing! The dumplings came with a yummy spicy garlic sauce. For those Chinese food lovers in Columbus who missed the Hunan Lion this restaurant is every bit is good. interestingly enough, it was owned previously by The ex-wife of the owner of the Honan lion. The menu is very similar if not identical. The food is as good as what the Hunan Lion was. The atmosphere is good, the restaurant much smaller, but adequate. The weight staff were extremely helpful and competent. Restaurants, clean, and new. For those of us in Clintonville it's a little bit of a drive but well worth the time. read more

Good place to get lunch or dinner. The lunch portions were great! , we had some leftovers as a snack. Priced appropriately to be honest. This was a step above your normal asian eatery. The wonton soup seemed to be made in house as the broth was excellent. My wife is Asian and a professional chef & I've been in the food truck business for 20+ years so we are not easy to please. Great ambiance, clean, and featured real cloth napkins! They seemed rather new as there appeared to be only one server. Lots of take out was observed as well. I went with a few friends to lunch. My Hunan bean curd was very good and I got a good-sized portion for only 8.95. Service was good.

UPDATE (5/30/2020) - They're not open for dine in yet, but you can order and pay online through GrubHub. Easy and convenient. We got the Siam chicken and the Pad Thai. Both delicious and the same generous portions you get when we were able to dine in. UPDATE - This update is worth it just to plug their wonton soup. Some Chinese restaurants plop s couple of wontons in some broth and call it wonton soup. At Chi Thai you get a bowl loaded with wontons, shrimp, pork an veggies! Look at that photo! Chi Thai is one of my favorite restaurants in Columbus. The atmosphere is great. Food is always spot on. If you ask for extra hot, they make it extra hot. The owner Steve is very friendly and more than happy to accommodate your requests. Just wish it was closer, but that's a me-problem. read more

I love this place. I found it on my first visit to Columbus, and I've stoped each time I've been back. Hot and sour soup and Seafood Szechuan style. It's hard to find good Chinese food. My only complaint is it isn't in my neighborhood. read more

Very mediocre experience dining in this evening. We arrived at approximately 6:30PM on a Thursday night, no one greeted us at the desk for several minutes. Eventually we were seated and our waiter approached us quickly. He was nice but seemed a bit scattered. After he took our order another waitress came to our table to also try and take our order. Throughout the service it became very clear they were scrambling to wait on the tables in the restaurant. So all of that was a little weird. We had never been here before so we were excited to try their food, and also to maybe try out some new dishes that we had never had before at another Asian cuisine restaurant. To start we got wonton soup and hot and sour soup. Forewarning they have shrimp in their wonton soup -- my boyfriend doesn't touch seafood with a 10 feet pole so it would have maybe been nice to note on the menu. Both soups felt quite salty, more so than normal for a soup. For an appetizer we got the steamed dumplings (6 for $7.95). These were definitely the highlight of our meal. The dumplings were pretty tasty and the sauce they came with was very good. Last but not like for our entree we split a portion of the Mongolian beef. With the up charge of dinner compared to lunch we expected a slightly bigger portion (mostly of the rice) than what ended up coming out, but it proved to be sufficient for us. The beef itself was good but I found the sauce to be bland. Overall not really impressed. If we return we will definitely try out some other entrees and most likely reorder the dumplings! read more

I love this place, the food is awesome, but way overpriced. I'm very disappointed that on a Friday night, I place a carry out order and they tell me they close at 8:45. Which restaurant closes at 8:45 on a Friday? Then I order my son and my entrees and one of them was a small house combo fried rice. The guy tells me they only have one size of combo fried rice tonight and it's 14.75...WTF?? Again, it's good, but not that much better than the local competition when it comes to just being hungry for Chinese after a long Friday for the price and the rules. read more

WOW! My bf and I were craving Asian food and I'm so glad we went here. It was our first time and I couldn't of been happier with the decision. Our server was so nice & very helpful with great suggestions. I got the pad Thai which has shrimp & chicken and it was UNBELIEVABLE!! I love me some pad Thai and there's has moved to the number one spot. It was so good that my boyfriend ordered some to go. I have been a customer at ChI Thai for several years and have always enjoyed the food. Tonight I ordered something brand new and I did not care for it. The customer service was absolutely amazing. When I called to ask about that dish they refunded the cost of that dish for me without batting an eyelash. As usual, the spicy noodles with chicken and the spicy greens were absolutely delicious! Was craving Thai food so decided to try this place out for dinner a few weeks back. I ordered online since that's my preference nowadays. I decided to go with the Szechwan dumplings and drunken noodles with chicken. When I went to pick up my order there were a ton of to go orders at the counter so clearly this place is pretty popular. The man at the bar came over and gave me my order. Now onto the food. The dumplings were a little forgettable honestly. I consider myself an amateur dumpling connoisseur and these weren't anything super special. The Drunken Noodles were good. Very very hefty portion, I think I got 3 meals out of this. Overall, if I order from here again would probably try something different on their menu. The menu is pretty extensive so I'm sure anyone can find something they'll love. read more

My dish was not good. Menu never said it had bean sprouts so when the dish came out I had to ask for them to remake it. I opted out of shrimp in the dish and got charged full price with very little chicken in it. I would have been ok had the noodles not been so soggy and the dish was super greasy. Additional notes. Huge carryout business. Maybe more than dine in. Many are the online delivery service. If picking up some takeout for yourself, isn't it time you got yourself an insulated bag to keep your food hot. You know all hot food just tastes better. Just keep the bag in your vehicle for those impromptu stops. A fantastic note is the condiment service. New bowls of sweet & sour, along with hot mustard is brought to each table. None of that hinged jar with the tiny spoon, shared by each occupant of that table. I do wonder if the previous guest licked the spoon. Two others for the spicy palette is Hot oil and Szechuan sauce. I have to say, I was hoping for a better food experience. The staff was friendly and the space was decorated nicely. My issues were about the menu and options offered. For a Thai fusion restaurant they didn't have pad see ew, which is a classic Thai dish. The server didn't even know what that was! We had the Thai potstickers, which were pretty good. I had the Tom Yum soup. The brother was good, but it was definitely lacking some necessary ingredients. We shared the pad lad nar. The flavor was good, but it didn't have a lot of noodles and the noodles were just squares and not complete long noodles. Sort of weird. Overall, this place is fine. Would I come back? Nice place and staff but out of 8 menu items we only liked 3. We liked the lettuce wraps, regular sized spring roll and the pepper steak. No to pad thai (bright red sauce that definitely had ketchup in it), mini spring rolls (just super bland and not much filling), fried rice (bland) and tom ka gai. HELL NO to honey walnut shrimp. It tasted like sweet and sour sauce with some walnuts thrown in and so much vinegar that basically pickled the vegetables by the next day. The picture is of breading I took off 2 pieces of shrimp trying to salvage something from the leftovers. WHY IS THERE SO MUCH BREADING?? Went for lunch on Saturday. There were three of us and we all shared Pad Lad Tar, dinner portion. There was even enough for me to take home to hubby. Flavor was tasty and there was ample amount of veggies and chicken, beef and shrimp. However we all thought there could have been more wide noodles. We also ordered the dumplings, which was delicious. Each of us had a soup. Hot and sour is my favorite! The soup came out steaming and is wonderful!
