Curry is a bit heavy but pairs well with their Naan. Honestly, the best thing here is their naan. Update: the chicken biriyani is pretty good! Drinks (2/5): Shocked by the quality based on their regular price. The Velvet Karma was okay (tasted like watery Bailey's with cinnamon). The Karma Sutra was mostly cough syrup, almost no liquor tasted in either. Both $15 each. Service (2/5): The waitresses are all hardworking but they seem super short-staffed. The whole place was packed but they're too busy to be out in the front. It took forever for food and drinks to come out also, despite it hasn't been packed yet. Took 15 min for the cocktail to be out and was watery... Ambiance (3/5): The live music at 7pm didn't start until 7:20. We came earlier and waited for it to start. Super disappointed and wanted to like this place. We can't see ourselves back unless these changes. It just seems stingey as a business to lack liquor in cocktails this price. The staff and manager were all nice, it's just not well run unfortunately.

Inside a dark and moody and cool and temperature so you can come in and get out of the heat enjoy a cocktail and a nice lunch. It's nice to not be under such bright light and crowded places. I really like the atmosphere here quiet swanky and had nice music. Friends request we shared the double eggs they were definitely something to try. And she had the chicken pot pie and said it was so delicious she licked the bowl clean.

I'm sure he's going to kill it at Texas State :) The cheeseburger was delicious & I'm mad I forget my to-go box (ugh!) of course I wanted more truffle on the truffle fries, but.... that's just me lol The service was excellent. Because what every dimly lit whiskey bar needed was a splash of Vitamin D and the distant echo of a convention attendee on a Bluetooth headset. Let's start with the good stuff: the Old Fashioned Whoever's behind the bar clearly went to the Hogwarts School of Cocktail Wizardry, because that drink arrives smoother than a country club apology. Pros: * That Old Fashioned, again, deserves its own fan club. * Still a classy joint if you squint and face away from the light. * Great people-watching, if you're into cowboy hats and expense accounts. Cons: * They turned the sexy cave into a summer porch. * The mysterious, brooding ambiance has been replaced with... sunshine? * I didn't come here to feel refreshed. I came to feel cloaked in mahogany and regret. Bottom line: the Barrel Room is still worth a visit if you're looking to class up your cocktail game before sliding into a steak-induced food coma at Old Hickory.

The portions are also huge Our server was wonderful from start to finish. He was friendly, attentive, and checked on us often without being overbearing. The service was honestly the best part of the experience. We started with the Sichuan calamari, and this was easily the highlight of the meal. It was perfectly crispy, the glaze had just the right amount of sweetness and heat, and the seasoning gave it a nice kick without overpowering the calamari. It was one of the best calamari dishes I've had and definitely raised my expectations for everything that followed. Next was the tenderloin bruschetta, and unfortunately this one just didn't work for me. The flavors didn't come together, and it was much saltier than it needed to be. It felt like there were too many things happening on the plate without much balance. I wouldn't order it again. For the entrées, the Chilean Sea Bass was very good. The fish was flaky and cooked well, the risotto was creamy, and the sauce brought everything together without being too heavy. It was one of the stronger dishes we ordered. The lobster stuffed ravioli was another solid choice. The filling was generous, there was plenty of lobster on top, and the vodka sauce complemented everything nicely without taking over. It was rich but still well balanced. We also tried the New Zealand rack of lamb. This one had mixed reviews at our table. It wasn't as tender as I was hoping, but I didn't dislike it and again I didn't love it! The blackened exterior and the wine reduction gave it good flavor, but it just wasn't particularly memorable. My favorite entrée ended up being the tomahawk pork chop. The pork itself was juicy, flavorful, and cooked really well. I wasn't a huge fan of the pineapple bourbon glaze since I didn't think it added much to the dish, but the quality of the meat made up for it. We also had the strawberry spinach salad, which was fresh and a nice lighter option alongside all the richer dishes. Then there was also a side dish with green beans and almond and again no complains there. Overall, I left feeling a little conflicted. The service was outstanding, the atmosphere was great, and the portions were very generous. The food itself was a mix of really good dishes and others that completely missed the mark. After such an incredible start with the calamari, I expected the rest of the meal to be on the same level, but it just never got there. I'm glad we tried it, but I don't think it's a place I'd rush back to.

I decided to leave my phone at home since this was a dinner date with my husband. Well they have NO physical menus according to our server. To me that is not a good thing. However, I was provided with an IPad to scroll the menu. Water was brought to table and we each ordered a drink. I ordered the cucumber smash. The drink was delicious but took quite some time to be delivered. My husband got soda and lime and his came out quickly. Service at this point is a bit slow. The place is a bit loud and plays club music -this IS NOT a club. It is finer dining and you have to listen to the same beat over and over and over -not a fan! We were dining inside. I do believe the roof top is different. We ordered the warm goat cheese. It was served in a skillet and very warm. However the toast was soft and not crunchy or firm at all and cold. It had been toasted and had burn marks and was beautiful but then soaked in butter to soften and then very cold. Would not order again. My husband had Beef Carpaccio-he loved it-not my thing. For dinner we shared Lemon Butter Salmon & Shrimp $40 Blackened salmon and shrimp drizzled with a rich lemon butter sauce, served over fragrant saffron rice and grilled broccolini And we both did not like it at all. The saffron rice honestly made me gag and did not like the flavor. The salmon was dry and there wasn't even a hint of any lemon. The shrimp was good and broccolini was delicious. So for $100 we left hungry and had mediocre service. We will go back for roof top seating but never again indoors
