Two of us came in for a late breakfast and ordered a Jo Construction and a Banana Belgium Waffle. Kassidy, our server, was certainly a big plus and was warm and friendly. Hard to be the front line of a mediocre kitchen. She was very professional. A good hire. I have been to many different Cora restaurants around the country so was sad to have to rate this one poorly. My Jo Construction had three eggs and was supposed to be poached. They came over easy. They did bring me my three poached and silly me ate six eggs. The Banada Belgium Waffle was completely cold. Only a bit was eaten. They compensated that meal. The bathroom needed a bit of TLC. It was at least clean but the cubicle door had no lever for the lock and they had a roll of paper towel just sitting on the bench because they were doing repairs to the wall. All and all, easily the worst Cora experience I have had. read more

It took a SUPER long time for our food to come. Upon Reviewing the bill I noticed there were a couple really hefty up charges on the bill. Cora provides a serviceable breakfast but I don't think I have ever received a plate where every item is warm much less hot-sometimes all of it it cold. Service is slow and the place is overpriced for what you receive-which in fairness is pretty generous portions and everything tastes fine, the coffee is great. With a few tweaks this place could be really very good. read more

Cora's is a chain of breakfast/lunch/brunch restaurants. I'd never been before but we were looking for somewhere to take my grandpa out for brunch and this place was recommended to me. It's not the most exciting or amazing brunch spot, but it's a good family friendly spot with ample portion sizes. My main criticism would be how long it took for our food to arrive after we ordered, but the free coffee refills helped bridge the gap. They have pretty much every option of breakfast food you could want, from eggs to pancakes and even bagels with lox. The menu kind of has aspirations to be one of those really trendy breakfast places with interesting ingredients, but doesn't quite make it. And the downside to that is they're missing some of the more standard menu options you might be looking for. For instance my cousin really wanted to order a BLT, but instead they only had more 'specialty' type sandwiches. What is nice is that every dish comes with a portion of fruit on the side, so you can pretend you're still eating healthily :) They don't take reservations so if you're not early enough you might have to wait - at some point during our meal the line was all the way out the door. Especially if you're coming with a larger group, be prepared to stand around waiting for a bit. read more

Super impressed with the menu and the food! The only reason this isn't a four star is because of the prices.. I find it too pricy for a breakfast joint. The menu is enormous from eggs Benny to crepes to pancakes and yogurt parfaits. All plates come with a heavy portion of fruit and yummy garlic potatoes. Portions are also pretty big.. could tone it down and have things cheaper. My eggs Benny we're brie and mushroom, killer combo! And hollandaise sauce was pretty darn tasty too. Next time I'll try a cream cheese and fruit filled crepe! read more

Every time, when we were on the road trip, we had Cora for breakfast. Food in Cora was healthier than IHOPE. The services were better than IHOPE too. I loved it. Even though It gets busy during weekends, we were always lucky without waiting for a seat when we went there. The food was great there. We love this place. Great food. read more

I've been here 3 times in the last 6 months. The branding is excellent but the food and service is sub-par. The Good: Food arrived fairly quickly (less than 10mins) The Bad: -I have never once been asked "How was everything" because they already know the answer. Ordered: -Egg Salad Sandwhich (bread was stale and egg salad was filled with celery) -Breakfast Poutine (it was fine but the portion could have been bigger and more flavourful...over all disappointed) -I'm not into stupid fruit salads which seems to be there main "thing". -Home fry potato wedge things are super bland and have a weak texture to them. -Wait staff seems to have a chip on their shoulder...though maybe it's because I don't look like a rich hot guy so I get the bare minimum in service. As always, independent of location, Cora is a safe bet for a low-key weekend brunch. At this location, our waitress was very friendly. Overall, service was slow, but that was due to there not being enough servers in a very busy restaurant. We didn't have any plans afterwards, so we were in no rush. The frequent coffee refills were greatly appreciated. Food was good; not amazing, but that's not what you expect from a Cora's. Only small hiccup was that my husband received his extra side after he was done his meal. I always appreciate the variety of fruit served on the side of most of the dishes. If you dare brave the lineups, visit Cora's for a consistent breakfast meal. read more

Cora's is well known for its fresh food and friendly atmosphere. I've been to Cora's in Edmonton and Montreal. In comparison this Cora's disappoints. The fruit was fresh as usual. But, the potatoes were dry and overcooked, Like they had been sitting under a heat lamp all day. The quiche was soggy on the bottom and it tasted like it came precooked from a freezer. Our server was very nice and helpful, he is the only reason this place gets 3 stars. Regrettably, not all Chez Cora franchise locations can live up to expectations. This location does not care about the freshness and quality of their food. When getting the bill they did not offer us the fudge at the counter and it was hidden, I think there were hiding it from customers. This Cora's is no better than a Denny's. read more

The service was alright- waitress was friendly. The food on the other hand- oh boy. My sons meal was fine - a crepe stuffed with egg and ham and some fruit- was edible and he enjoyed it. My meal- the smoked salmon on toast (can't remember the actual name) was garbage. The toast was just slices of bread, the sour cream spread tasted like miracle whip and seafood sauce and there was about 1/2 cup on each toast- gross. I couldn't believe they served the salad as it was brown and old, and it consisted of lettuce, a couple pieces of cucumber and celery. My husbands meal was even worse, the potatoes looked like they had been scraped off someone else's plate- it was just garbage gribbly bits not one full piece of potatoe. The brunch burger he got was so inedible he had to spit it out. It tasted like burnt hair, it made him feel nauseous it was so terrible. The thing was the burger wasn't even burnt- tasted like they had burnt eggs on the grill and didn't cleN it and cooked eggs on top. Nasty. Don't recommend at all. Shame. Waitress asked after a bite Howe the meal was- wasn't enough time to even know. And didn't ask how the meal was after that. Could see our plates were full and weren't impressed. Stay away! read more

No wait for a table for two noon Sunday. Ordered food took 45 mins for basic egg and bacon. Fruit looks great but was mostly so unripe it had no flavour. Short version: to be avoided. Longer version: Food was at best average. The pancakes were a bit dry and served with very little fruit. Anything on the side was an extra charge which is ridiculous when considering the prices. Service was fast and friendly. The main problem here is the price to quality ratio makes no sense. $40 for my daughter and I to have a breakfast. This got her strawberry pancakes and orange juice and me blueberry pancakes and tea. No bacon. No sausage. No fruit salad. And if you want to use the good maple syrup it costs extra. Now, if the food was great, fine. But it's not. I went to A & W the next day and had a better breakfast for 35% of the price. When we got our bill after waiting 20 minutes for it, we paid up at the front where it appeared to be the manager and when I tried to tell him what had happened, he interrupted me while scoffing "what do you want me to do?" Meh. I'm downing it to one star. Service was 2 star. I've been here 3 times just because it's close to Cabela's and its lunch time so what the heck. Each time I'm disappointed. My fruit cocktail drink of the day was super sour and undrinkable today. Banana strawberry smoothie was decent and the best part of the meal. But for myself and a friend a 45 dollar breakfast. It better be fantastic but it wasn't. For the prices at this place it should be easy to make a 5 star breakfast but they can't even hit 2 stars no jokes. I took my son here for his birthday. We waited in line about 15-20 minutes, which isn't bad. Once seated, I found the server to be rude and somewhat inattentive. When we finally got our order taken, my mother asked for her fruit on her eggs benedict to be served on the side, she got a snide "I suppose so". When we finally got our meals about 40 minutes after we ordered. My mother's and sister's meals (Eggs Benedict with cheese and asparagus) looked horrible. The Hollandaise sauce was broken. The asparagus was limp and stringy. The potatoes were bland, soggy and greasy. My meal, the Egg Salad Sandwich was alright, once I seasoned the sandwich with salt and pepper, disappointed that there was no choice in bread type (came on whole wheat which is fine). I also had the soup of the day (Cream of Mushroom) which was absolutely disgusting, probably the worst soup I've ever tasted. It had a grain like texture, with a slight curry taste. Not a mushroom to be found in it. My son's meal was mediocre. The best part of the meals were the fresh fruit. I did get a 20% off my meal for the soup, but it would have been better if the manager came by. I am not impressed with the hype surrounding this restaurant. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I will not be going back. read more

We were stunned at how bad this restaurant was. We waited 20 minutes or more to be seated in what appeared to be a half empty restaurant. We assumed (hoped) that we had simply arrived at the end of a rush and once we were seated all would be fine. Our waitress arrived in reasonable time - not exceptionally prompt, but not so slow as to cause to cause concern. We proceeded to wait an hour for our food to arrive. The restaurant was still half empty. The food was warmish. The fruit was hot - obviously from sitting under the lights for an hour. We did not complain about the food, as by this time we were so disgusted we simply wanted to eat and leave. As a person with many years in the hospitality industry I feel that it is wrong to put the onus on the patron the "make a fuss" - which is embarrassing. A half-way attentive server or manager should be able to note that there is a problem when people are sitting at their table for an hour with no food. Who could possibly be happy with that? I understand things can go wrong; the server should have at least explained the hold-up and the manager should have taken the initiative to speak to us. An apology and an explanation was all that was needed. The employees are obviously poorly trained. I will never, ever choose a Cora restaurant again anywhere. There are simply too many other choices out there to put up with bad service and mediocre and (considering the quality) over-priced food. read more

This place had me in and out the front door in 4 minutes ! I honestly can't believe how untrained and unprofessional the hostess that greeted us was ! We followed her to our table when she noticed that the setting wasn't finished. Instead of choosing another table she began placing the utensils... thing is, she grabbed the items by the part you eat with ! (not the handle) I pointed this out to her and she told me that "this is the way I do it" and "it's hard setting tables in a busy place" ... I explained to her that I was a server for over 30 years (worker and owner) and it's not difficult to grab the handle instead of prongs... She told me her 'hands are clean" ... then, there was milk all over the floor right where our feet were going to be... instead of moving us to another table, she said that "She'd be right back with a mop" ...(in her ever so clean hands ?) So, we sat there with our feet in the isle when a young waitress came up and moved us to a clean table... We had enough and left... read more
