I have often gone to Grainfields and always had a good meal at a reasonable price. However they fell way short when I was there last Thursday evening. I ordered the roast beef dinner as it has been a long time since I had roast beef. What a disappointment. Instead of being presented like the picture in the menu, I got a pasta bowl with everything covered in gravy. The potatoes were instant potatoes, instead of nicely cut roast beef, it looked like it was torn off the roast and vegetables were at a minimum. I looked around at my party's plates and they all got nicely presented plates with what they wanted. If it was not for my friend letting me eat her fries, I would have gone home hungry. Food's consistently decent, service is solid, we can always get in regardless of how busy it seems

Came for breakfast with a group of twenty after the original restaurant that we were booked at was not even open when we arrived. Apparently they were closed for the public holiday but took the booking anyway. Go figure. We had a great server that handled us professionally and pleasantly. Even when we were paying for the food in ten seperate bills. The food was good but nothing above average. read more

Not sure if the owner of Humptys and this owner are the same, but it too closed over an hour sooner than it should have. The waitress said the same thing when we walked in. "Sorely owner phoned and told us to close now". Never tasted the food. I'll never be back at this place either. read more

I waited.... The hostess was busy taking money from people that managed to get a table. I was not so lucky. Maybe looking over your shoulder to see the crowd standing by the entrance would ensure not pissing anybody off? When a guy that came in 10 minutes after us somehow caught the hostess' eye and was seated quickly, by someone either too young or too stupid (probably a bit of both) to know her job, we took that opportunity to leave and find our breakfast someplace else. read more

Had a very homey feel as the only one I've been to is the one in my hometown. I've always loved grainfields their food always feels like it's made specially for you and the waitress or waiter is always so nice I definitely recommend coming here. I'm definitely not a breakfast person so they're large menu it's definitely accommodating but today I thought I'd try some breakfast foods and I got the California Benedict which was so good I love the creamy hollandaise sauce added a nice touch to it. There's a very wide selection of meals to choose from, and the prices were very good. I hope they don't go and raise them, now that I said this Anyway, there was a Specials menu that was separate that showed a different (higher) price for a specific meal than the same meal on the menu. Just check the price and tell the waitress that you want the cheaper one. LOL They have lots of booths (some with high walls for privacy) and tables, and a couple big screen TV's, too! They have a very huge waiting area, so I'd guess that this place gets packed, and that's the sign of a place that gets a lot of business for one or more reasons. Why not find your own, right? Very disappointed in their nonmasking policy in this 4th wave. My first time eating out in almost 2 years and I was told the staff doesn't mask, so I could leave if I felt unsafe. I later asked the owner's wife about it who said they aren't required to by law, so they don't, but that my server would have masked if I had asked. But I was never given that option. She said her husband would call me to explain, but he never did. Question- are they closet anti-maskers or do they just not care? read more

This place was SO tasty! It isn't often that I can find places with gluten free pancakes, but Grainfields has that and more. Their GF pancakes were the tastiest I've ever had, and their coffee was great too. Despite being packed, they were quick and accommodating. read more

I went Sunday morning and it looked packed but we only waited 5 minutes to be seated. Our server, Wendy, was AMAZING. One of the most pleasant servers I have had in at least 15 years. Personable, kind, pleasant, and she even came out to fix my partners order that another server had brought out incorrectly. I gave her a big tip and I am someone who doesn't tip for less than stellar service. Despite how busy it was she was prompt and never let how busy it was stress her or change her wonderful work ethic. read more

My favorite place for breakfast hands down. I go to both locations in Saskatoon regularly, and when I'm off to the lake I hit up the one in Prince Albert. Favorite breakfast is Huevos Rancheros and Breakfast Slam. read more

I got a chicken burger and my dad got a cheese burger. I enjoyed mine, but my dad said his tasted like something premade. The service itself was very quick and the waitress was very nice. All in all it's a good place to eat. read more

Worst group service I have ever been served... Meals came out late and cold...server was inattentive and meals didn't arrive complete... My meal was almost done before my gravy arrived and it was at room temperature as was the rest of my meal... Won't eat here again read more

Monday, May 23, 2016. Our visit today was cut very short due to the lack of attention a gentleman paid to us. Upon arrival, we stood at the podium to leave our name, for a party of two. The older man took names of others waiting but failed to do so for us. He sat other parties at available tables and returned only to focus on others who had arrived after us. He asked who was next and we called from a bench where we sat waiting for our turn. Unfortunately, it never came. So, our suggestion is to spend your time and money where more attentive representatives will provide better service. We are new to the city and this incident has left us with a most unfavorable impression of what had been a recommended restaurant to enjoy breakfast. read more
