What better way to start your day then with a nice hearty breakfast? We got in, and this location was just crazy busy! But we were still seated within 5-10 minutes, it felt so good! We ordered 2 cups of black coffee, a glass of water & cafe mocha! The service was just impeccable, the server was amazing and full service oriented! Humorous and made breakfasting fun! And that's to say the least, this is probably the best Cora's I have ever visited. The food was just so delicious and all 5 of us had such an amazing meal with no qualms! I would visit this location again and again if I lived in Edmonton. If you are in Edmonton and would like to brave this Cora's, please don't hesitate to do so. The egg skillet (Western) was very good with the fresh veggies. Too bad it no longer comes with toast or fruit. Service was prompt, coffee hot, food good. Noisy ambiance, typical for a Sunday morning. Disappointing that the dish did not have fruit to round out the plate. I did see many plates being cleared, piled high with fruit, uneaten. This place was pretty busy when we arrived for brunch but we soon figured out why. It's a pretty big restaurant but every table was occupied. The menu here has endless opportunities to make the perfect brunch for anyone. The service was friendly, our food came out quickly and our waters and coffee were always full. We were completely satisfied with everything we ordered here and the portions are huge. I love that they serve fruits with every plate it tastes great and looks pretty. My friend and I have a tradition of meeting up for breakfast at this Cora's location on a weekend when I'm in town; overall it is always satisfying to catch up over brunch since this is definitely my favorite meal of the day. Atmosphere: 3/5 This is a standard Cora's restaurant, and during the weekend, it can get busier as the morning goes on with families coming for brunch. But overall it is quite a big restaurant generally kept clean. We usually don't have to wait long and some parking is available in the strip mall. Food: 3.5/5 Standard breakfast menu; usually the dishes are too big for me so I go for 'good morning' with two eggs, poached, fruit, and toast on the side. This is quite enough for me. The freshness of the fruit is hit and miss sometimes. Service: 3/5 Overall the staff is friendly but it can get quite busy at times. My experience here was not as great as the one I had at the south side location. The service was friendly and reasonably fast, but the food was not as good. I ordered a stack of blueberry pancakes. While they were large and fluffy, they were also quite dry - not enough English cream for me. The blueberries were very small and not plump and juicy. My lunch mate's raspberry crepe looked great, but he also said it was so-so. He ordered a side of roasted potatoes and sausage (and got bacon instead, but he didn't mind). He said everything was good, but nothing he would go out of the way for. While I definitely will return to either location of Chez Cora to which I have already been, I will stick with the more elaborate fruit dishes, as that seems to be their strong point. read more

We arrived around 1:30ish to find a few people waiting outside but no one inside. Our hostess didn't tell us how long it would be but judging from what I could see and hear, it seemed to be a full house. Luckily we didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes to be seated in a booth. The booth is narrow but long so it could accommodate at least 4 people but not if they've had one too many beers. The photos on the menu look fabulous the way the fruit is laid out. We decided on our order but it took another few minutes before our server appeared. I ordered the panini crepe and my husband had the blueberry pancakes. I was a little disappointed with the crepe, and likely I wouldn't have it again. I like I would have preferred a sweeter item from the menu. There was a lot of fruit that was piled on the plate. Overall I thought Cora's was ok. It wasn't one of the best breakfast places I've been to but it maybe worth another try if there isn't a line up and the service was better. read more

Cora's is a breakfast/brunch restaurant. There are a few in the Edmonton area and since I work near Sherwood Park this location is ideal to visit. For those who don't know weekends are pretty chaotic as there is usually a line of people outside the doors and into the parking lot waiting to get a table. On this Wednesday morning though my group walked in and got a table right away! The Hostess was very friendly and so was our waitress who constantly visited the table to make sure we had refills on our coffee. I had their Crepes with a side of Bacon. Which also came with a side of fruit. The crepes were prepared very well and were quite filling and the bacon well it's BACON. Bacon is always delicious. Most orders come with a side of fruit which is nice because it makes me feel like I'm eating healthier. I have been to this location before and their Blueberry Pancakes are right on par if not better than IHOP. The menu's are easy to read and very informative about all the options they offer. Prices are usually between $10-15 dollars on most of the choices on the menu but with the quantity of food that ends up on your plate, it's pretty worth it. The decor is bright and colourful. It can be a little overwhelming if you're hung over but I'm usually not so I'm okay with the colors. I recommend going on a weekday if possible due to the crowds on the weekends unless you go early on the weekends. I will definitely be back to Cora's again! read more

Came here for breakfast today. I've been to many Cora's in Eastern Canada, which seem to have a little bit better quality food, but the service was wonderful. We had a tiny, petite blonde who almost seemed like she could be in two places at once. The second our drink was low she had it refilled before we realized it. She knew the menu extremely well and had our food out in less than 10 minutes. While the menu is enormous we stuck with the standard bacon, eggs, toast, omelet etc. I'm not a crepe guy an switched them out for pancakes. The pancakes were very heavy and doughy, but everything else was excellent. This is a great place to take a family for breakfast, no doubt. read more

Went for breakfast by myself today, because I had a hankering for french toast and sausages. It was busy, but this was the first time I came and there wasn't a line up. Even when there is a line up, the wait doesn't seem very long. Service here is always remarkably efficient. I talked myself into the Strawberry Satisfaction and a side of sausage. At $12.45 for the crepes and $2.75 for the sausage. I don't mind paying higher prices at Cora's. I know that whatever I get, it will be amazing and fresh and pleasant to look at. Usually I order the lox and bagel with a fruit salad. Fruit salad here means something else. You do not get a wet bowl of canned melon bits with the occasional grape. You get a fresh fruit sculpture stacked high with strawberries, kiwi fruit, apples and whatever is in season and it will be stunning to behold. But I digress. I ordered the aptly named Strawberry Satisfaction. It arrived at my table quickly, looking like the size of it would break the plate. It was HUGE! It was a single crepe stuffed with a light custard and fresh strawberries and just enough whipped cream. I couldn't finish it and yes, I was satisfied. This might not suit you if you're strictly a bacon and eggs kind of person . Bear in mind, this is gourmet breakfast, done with pizzazz and flair. This is where you go for special occasions or a treat with friends and family. A little bit pricey, but worth it. You get a lot of quality for the money, plus quick and friendly old school service. Had the worst eggs benny's ever. I didn't even know that was possible! First ordered the mushroom brie benny. Sounds delish, right? The mushrooms were old and funky tasting, the brie was cold and the English muffin was untoasted. I love food, and I actually did not enjoy eating it. When she asked if it was okay I said no, and they replaced it with a ham benny. English muffin was cold and, not delicious like an English muffin should be! I couldn't even eat it. They have 50% off. Very disappointed because I heard a lot of good things about Cora. My cappuccino was very weak and lukewarm to start. They has terrible options for gluten free food. I ordered an omelette but they said the hash browns had wheat in them and no gluten free toast. So basically I just had eggs but paid for a lot more. I had to order an extra bowl of fruit to make a complete meal. I am celiac and have no choice but to eat gluten free so it's very disappointing when they make you pay for things you can't eat and provide no substitute even if they could. read more

Been to Cora's on one occasion. Sort of a different take on a breakfast restaurant, (at least that I've seen). They're pretty heavy on the fruit, which ia sort of nice to see. This is how breakfast went down: 8:35 - Arrive at Cora's 8:37 - Placed order 8:45 - Breakfast arrived The thing that really impressed me this time was the staff. Waitress came often to check up on my meal and also to top up my coffee. It's also interesting to see the chatter between waitresses as they are at the computer stations to punch in orders. Rather than leaving tables dirty for the respective waitress to clean, staff come together to help each other out which in turns help the customers out. This means lowered wait times and customers can come in quicker. Food was great (wasn't too hungry so just ordered basic egg and bacon meal), came out fast and glad that staff treated me like a person. Food tasted great, was prompt and staff treated me like a person. I think in a customer's market, it's nice to see an organization work on service, which in turn makes me comfortable to return. read more

After working a 12 hour night shift, with the hunger of a bear normally I'll stop by and chow down at a Denny's. The first time I went too Cora's for breakfast I was a little scared that I might grimace at the fruit and want too opt for grease and butter. Instead I was greeted by the most adorable servers, the BEST orange juice ever (perfectly cold) and really tasty potatoes. The opening time of 6 am is helpful for the early bird. There has never been a long wait for me and the food has always been AMAZING. I crave there raspberries for Lucy at least once a week. It's feel of farm like fresh eggs, and crispy bacon make it really nice for a breakfast date as well as the colourful walls and smiley atmosphere make it upbeat and cute. I've been here at least 10 times now and have always left full, happy, and never upset with the free fudge at the till. read more

I've been to this Cora location twice now, once on a very busy Sunday morning, and today, a comparatively slow but still hopping Friday morning. Both times the two of us were seated immediately, which is good, because breakfast is one of those meals that needs to happen NOW! While I wouldn't say either of my trips was a gourmet experience, both times my ham Eggs et Benedictine was consistently good. I love the fresh fruit side, and the lightly fried potatoes are great for sopping up the extra hollandaise that would otherwise, sadly, go to waste. The service is quick, polite, and solid, too! It's the perfect spot for a quick sit-down breakfast, and hopefully soon, I'll give it a try for lunch. Or maybe just get something different for breakfast ... read more

One morning I woke up at 5:50am (normal is 6:40am) and I felt like eating Coras. They open at 6am every morning except Sunday. I decided to travel in the early morning to have breakfast and thought being the first one there no matter what they can not screw up my food unless they are tired lol. The server was super friendly for being so early and I ordered the strawberry crepes with chocolate hazelnut sauce. I'm not much of breakfast person so that's why I order things that will most likely have whipped cream on top *dessert*. I love their crepes here! Filled with fresh strawberries and lots of whipping cream and chocolate sauce, it was yummy in my tummy. The last time I went to Coras, there was a really big line but it progressed really fast. Quite often I avoid restaurants because of the hype. It can't help but be a let down from all that I have heard. Well Chez Cora was not one of those let downs. We decided to try them out for lunch, I had the Sunshine Panini Crepe, with has ham and cheese along with egg rolled into a crepe then heated in a panini press. The temperature and texture was perfect for a delicious lunch along with the fresh fruit on the plate made for a great lunch. The downside is the incredibly small glasses of water they serve. The glass is empty with in minutes of the server dropping them off and then it takes forever for a refill. As well, I am always disappointed in a restaurant that puts canned beverages on the table. I ordered an iced tea and received a can of ice tea. It really cheapens the experience. Will I be back? The answer is yes. read more

This is the second time I've been to this restaurant location. Both terrible experiences. Firstly, I ordered the eggs Benedict however... on my order my potato was burnt and my fruit wasn't cleaned up at all. I have to peel my own fruit and take the core from the apple. Their custard tastes like coconut but they insist there is no coconut in their 10 year old recipes. I was shown that the presentation in the menu photos is how they serve their fruit (which shows the fruit with some skins left attached) so I was advised next time to order the fruit diced should I prefer it differently. Which wasn't an issue I just took note to remember to ask next time. Secondly, ordered our food with minor food allergy alterations asking to omit and peaches, pineapple or mango from a side order of diced fruit and asked for the chocolate sauce on the side from inside the crape. Also ordered the eggs poached med... we got our order with the fruit not diced with all skins, peels, and vines attached... the poached eggs tasted strongly of vinegar and there was NOTHING in the crape just plain on the plate with everything on the side. We literally had to build our own breakfast. We tolerated the fruit however they forgot the chocolate sauce on the side and wanted to charge us for whip cream that comes with it. And we had to attempt to get the eggs make twice as the second round of eggs came back still strong of vinegar even though they said they changed the water. We ended up ordering them a different way as the manager argued with us that they have been cooking them the same way for years without complaints and that's just how they do them and won't change over one complaint. Even though I had them on my last visit on my eggs Benedict at this same location and they did NOT taste like vinegar at all on my last visit. I found it very disrespectful and disheartening that the manager would not even taste their eggs to see how bad it tastes of vinegar. Won't be back again. And the waitress was very rude and did not listen to how we ordered our food or she just didn't care. read more

We stopped in for an early brunch on a Sunday morning before running errands. As we were all familiar with how busy Cora's can get, we arrived just before 9:30AM to a small, but well-managed line and were greeted by a pleasant hostess. I tend to stick with what I know and consistently order the same breakfast (can't go wrong with the strawberries waffle) but was goaded into trying something new by my dining companions. I opted for the fresh fruit waffle, but I had asked for no melon, and to ensure that it didn't come into contact with melon in the process, since I allergic, and breaking out in hives wasn't part of the game plan and the server said that wouldn't be a problem -- they're usually very good at accommodating dietary concerns/allergy requests. While we waited for our meal, we people watched and drank coffee, but the bowl of creamers that had been placed at our table was mostly 2% milk. Our server balked at our request for a more even mix of cream and milk - deadpanning that they were running our of cream, which struck me as a bit odd since it was only about 4 hours into their operating day at this point. She eventually relented about topped us off with more cream when she brought the Sugar Twin we had requested. Out of the four people at our table, my meal was last to arrive, though I suspect this had more to do with my special request. Unfortunately, when it was finally expedited to our table, it arrived with melons. Our server was quite apologetic and emphasized that she had, in fact, made a special not about my melon allergy, but the kitchen had missed that communique. She assured us another plate would be prepared shortly and even offered extra fruit to make up for the error. Eventually the issue was resolved, though I did feel a little guilty for holding up my fellow brunch goers as they had offered t wait until my food arrived. I assured them it was not necessary and busied myself by stealing bacon from their plates. When my food did arrive, for the second time, it was melon-free and as delicious as always. While there were a few snags, this was definitely an atypical experience at Cora's. read more

Honestly not a bad place if your on a bit of a budget and want to take your family out for breakfast. Its probably a step above Denny's but still they're quite similar in terms of the type of service, food and overall vibe. The west side Cora is in a very convenient location and there's lots of parking available. I went around 11:00 am which usually would be insanely busy and I would have to wait forever to get seated but myself and my boyfriend got in really quickly despite the line. They certainly have a very organized staff which I guess they have to, as most tables have 10 people. As for the food, it's nothing crazy or comparable to other diners around the downtown area but that said I have nothing to complain about. I got a bottle of juice, and a breakfast I probably could have made myself for a good price so there's nothing bad about that! Our waitress was nice and the service was pretty fast. Like I said, it's a good place for a large group that doesn't want to spend a ton of money. This was my first visit to Cora so I had no Idea what was on the menu. My server, a woman named Pat, asked me what I wanted to order 3 times in the first two minutes I was there, the first time was before I even sat down. I had the chicken swiss panini, it was very bland and lacked any kind of seasoning. Pat came by as I was taking my first bite of a carrot that was served on the side and asked how everything was, I clearly had not even touched any other part of my meal. Everyone else seemed very pleasant but I didn't have much interaction with them. The salad had brown lettuce in it and the side veggies were wilted and soaking in a glass of some sort of dressing. It was PACKED even though the food was typical franchise diner food characteristic of Cora: good, but not great. Service wasn't stellar but restaurant was clean and in an easy to find location. Near West Edmonton Mall there are not a lot of breakfast places so for lack of options, this is the best there is, but if you're anywhere in the city I wouldn't seek it out. read more

The fact that this chain does not offer egg dishes made only with egg whites is very disappointing, and seems about 15 years behind the times in an era when low-cholesterol version of egg dishes are available even at Denny's. I've been resisting going to Cora's since it opened because I'm really not a fan of chain restaurants. On the other hand, I'm an ex-Montrealer who REALLY misses the unique food scene of that great city. Cora's started in the same part of Montreal where I grew up so I had to try Cora's just once. Our first visit to Cora's was at 10:30 am on Easter Sunday. We had been warned that Cora's gets very busy but we were seated right away, although it was the second last empty table. Coffee service was fast and, lo and behold,Cora serves milkers as well as creamers. My wife and I have both had cholesterol lectures so we've had to fight for milk in our coffee at every restaurant west of the Lakehead. I don't know why the courtesy of serving milk is an Eastern "thing" but score one for Cora being true to their roots. Having French roots, Cora specializes in crepes, although they can do the traditional flapjack or the two-egg traditional breakfast so anyone in the group can find something to please. We ordered sweet crepe wraps, thinking it would be light fare after the two big dinners we had on the holiday weekend. WRONG! The crepe wraps were enormous, enough to feed a Quebecois truck driver. They were delicious but it took us a full hour to finish the plate. This is the first chain I've visited where the plate is actually bigger than it appears on the menu. Service was fast, even though the restaurant was full. That's because the staff are highly specialized. One server took our order and another brought it. Another bunch of servers cleared the tables and others set the tables for the constant influx of new customers. If Cora's becomes even busier, I expect that they will hire staff to take care of spoons and other staff to take care of forks. Is Cora's perfect? Not really. The parking is limited for the amount of business they do. There was a birthday and all the staff came out singing a rap version of Happy Birthday, including someone playing spoons quite well in the kitchen. My preference is less intrusion from groups when I go to eat. It took us an hour to eat and by the time we left, the lineup was out the door. That's not really a bad thing because the bill arrives quickly so they can seat more guests. Despite my dislike of restaurant chains, I would recommend this Cora's with teh caveat to arrive early. read more

I also really like the hollandaise - it adds just the right amount of something something to the potatoes. Once again, poor execution! First time to this location (my sons request), but my complaint is the same as other locations. Poor execution. This time with the eggs benedict. I order soft poached, she repeated back to me soft poached. All 3 came hard poached, not a single drop of yolk flowed out of any of them. I showed her, she brought me 3 poached eggs in a bowl. What, she expected me to deconstruct them, replace the poached egg, and rebuild them? What about the hollandaise sauce that was now gone?
