I have used this car wash for several years and had only good experiences. Unfortunately recently when I got my car washed ( a Tesla) . I heard a very loud noise that I thought came from outside the car wash area. Several days later i noticed a crack in my sunroof. I looked on line about this and found someone had their sunroof cracked in this car wash. I called and the manager was unresponsive-said this never happens and I should email the owner which I did. No response. I am writing this not because I want anything from them . But I would hope they could see if there is something they can modify to avoid this happening in the future. And I would suggest that Tesla owners of Model S be aware of this possibilty. read more

This clean, brightly lit new Chevron is convenient, but you can only get three stars when your gas is 20¢ higher than the same brand station just 5 miles down the road in Mountain View, and your cigarettes are exorbitant as well. (Secret hint to business: Get competitive & I'll up it a star, get cheap & I'll up it two. The gas station itself is fine, but the car wash is a poor value. $15.99 for the deluxe wash and although it takes quite a while, the end result was mostly just smearing the dirt around on the roof and trunk, although the windows were clean. Worst Chevron in the state of California. When you go to pump gas half the time you can't even completely pump it because they are out of gas almost. Their card reader does not work to go through the carwash, so when you're stuck there trying to get a car wash and you can't. They dont put up a sign or anything so that your not stuck there. If you push HELP button no one ever comes to help. Worst Chevron ever....if you call inside the guy says "oh well". Great customer service. read more

The gas here is expensive as you would expect. The problem is car wash - if you buy the regular car wash you don't get machine dried. I just pulled out with my car wet all over and now drying off into a delightful spotted exterior which makes it a total waste of money and makes my review one star. P.s. This is probably the worst Chevron in the area, but among other gas stations, it's clean, decent, and has new pumps. Would I use it again? No. Alex is right - the car wash does not do drying. I filled up(12 gallons) and there was no car wash discount. Gas was 10% (ten per cent!) more expensive than at the Chevron a few miles down El Camino, at 85. read more

If only I had read Alex's review first before washing my car. I needed gas and it was on the way back to the office, the Super H was pretty dirty so I figured I could do the drive thru wash. First I couldn't pay at the pump (cause my receipt was available inside - wtf) , then I thought I could pay before the wash and after all that, I still walked inside and paid for a carwash - those should have all been signs. Normally I don't move my side mirrors but as I pulled in, I noticed a sign saying push in mirrors, of course it didn't register until it was too late and the wash decided to push in my mirrors on it's own. The wash was pretty quick and it was evident as to why. After I finished, I pulled my car forward, got out of the car, returned my mirrors to their proper position and then noticed all kinds of soap in my sunroof. Live and learn. p.s. this location is pretty expensive - I know gas in general is expensive, but I think this one ranks pretty high. read more

What this gas station has going for it is consistency: 1) it is consistently more expensive than any of the other gas station in the Palo Alto area, and 2) its gas attendant is also consistently rude and unhelpful. First, the gas. Today, the premium is $4.33 but the premium at the Valero down the street is $4.08. If you want to stay with Chevron gas, then there are also better options. The Chrvron on Middlefield and Shoreline in Mountain View (5 min away) is selling premium for $3.99. That's a $.34 difference (times 10 gallons and you can probably get some chicken nuggets for lunch). But price is not its only problem. Second, the attendant is always rude. And, you can't be rude when it's your own car wash that is poorly maintained and always broken. Of course, they don't put up a sign to warn folks about this. Today, I bought the car wash and then had to go ask the attendant when I pulled into the wash area and nothing happened. Then the attendant had the nerve to say that I should've noticed that the floor of the wash area wasn't wet and a working car wash would have a wet floor. Really? I suggest that everyone avoid this station. You pay in money and frustration. read more

The gas pumps are always available, and the access to/from El Camino Real makes this spot very convenient. Nonetheless, the main problem with this place is how they never allow customers to use their bathrooms because they are always "out of service." I have been coming to Starbucks next door since 2012. It was somewhat convenient also to refuel the car at this place. Around 2012, I started noticing that every time that I asked to use the bathroom, they refused to let me use it because it was always "out of service." At first, I believed the employees, but after a year, I started suspecting that their reasons were not completely honest. I was concerned that they were refusing to let customers use the bathroom because the employees did not want to have to clean it afterward. I thus stopped refueling here. Fast forward a couple of years, I stopped to refuel on August 10, 2020, convinced that by now, they must have surely fixed their plumbing. Well, was I in for a surprise! Their bathrooms are still "out of service!" This place must have the worst plumbing of all of Silicon Valley. Yelp, please help these people with recommendations for some good plumbers (with 5-stars) in Palo Alto so that they can use their bathrooms! read more

The location's great...and I'm super lazy, so its nice to get a car wash conveniently...except when it doesn't actually wash my car. My car is still dirty, and it pisses me off. Funny, I only came here after I got ripped-off and found others had the same issue. $7 for a car wash that doesn't dry the car. That price used to dry the car - there was a lower price that did not dry. In addition, the car wash did not get the dirt of my back trunk. The car wash price is too high here and gas is 20 cents higher than other stations, so I haven't bought gas in the past. When I am near, I will go to the Chevron off Whipple and 101S next time, which is $5, $7, or $9 and they all dry the car. read more

I have been using this car wash for 2 years now. It's mediocre and gets a decent job. Now for the one star, the prices have increased by $4 and is no longer sustainable for my weekly car wash. I will rather drive to the next town and get a premium job for $20 and pay an extra $5 for full service. read more

I purchased a car wash and the machine was broken. They refused to credit my card and I had to make time in my schedule to come back and use it. The customer service is quite bad and I don't recommend using this station. There are a lot more around, I suggest using one of those. read more

Gas here is extremely expensive compared to the ones in San Mateo and even San Francisco wow it's freaking crazy! There's a Valero a few blocks down and a shell close by too but this place has got to be one of the highest. read more

So why is this Chevron consistently .15¢ or more expensive than the surrounding Chevrons? Right now, for the same grade, cash or card, the nearest Chevron to this one is .25¢ per gallon less. It's the same gas coming from the same refinery isn't it? So why so pricey? read more

This is the worst gas station ever!!! The pump spew all this gas out and charged me $40 with nothing getting into my tank. I showed the owner my tank is empty and he refuses to believe me telling me that 9 gallons of gas showed have been more and he needs to investigate before he can give my money back. I showed him my empty tank - what does he think I did with the gas!!! WORST Experience ever and so unprofessional - I can't believe it that he would question me when I am showing him that my tank is empty!!! Beware - Don't go there! read more

I told the owner about the broken gas pump #5 but he doesn't seem to listen but simply ignore what i said. The pump doesn't stop when finished and keep overflowing gasoline to the ground. I will not use this gas station, bad service, broken pump and the most expensive in the area. read more

Wow, expensive, not clean, and horrible car wash. Gas is waaaayyy more expensive then anywhere else. The blue buckets outside for wind shields are moldy and smell horrible. And the car wash feels like hourses galloping on top of your car. The only reason i stop here was because of the awsome smoke shop across the street and the drive through starbucks. As far as the car wash is concerned, the place is notorious for customers driving out upset for for the soap-less spit-like car wash service. Better go to Lozanos' where you pay more but will get better supervised wash treatment on the spot. Or do like I do rarely & sometimes: a sponge, a hose and soapy water when time permits. read more

Only if I could give zero stars... Don't ever use their carwash contraption. After waiting for thirty-five minutes, I got to the screen where I could buy the carwash and enter. Cash is allowed. Except that the banknote slot was taped. So, I pour in a lot of coins, until the guy in the car behind me shouts at tell me that does not work either (No signs indicating that, so my coins are gone). I had to leave my son in the car (no space to back out), run to the store, and the attendant sells me the stuff: Except that he knows the thing does not really work well, so he offers to operate the screen for me and lets me go in. It stops after half a minute. He tells me to get out and get back in the line, after canceling my order and buying a new ticket. I am fuming but I comply. Same thing happens again. The guy behind me tells me this is his second attempt, too. By now, my little son is crying in the back: he wanted the carwash, since he thinks it is cool. He is terrified beyond his wit that we will get stuck in the machine, and the guy in the red shirt (the attendant) cannot run the machine. After waiting another fifteen, and having my turn, this time the machine stops a minute in. The attendant says I must not know how to stop the car. I guess the other cars did not know how to stop either! I had to console my son for several minute after the experience, and I did not want him to see me get physical, but I was almost there! I have used this place before, and as the other reviews say, the machine does not clean your car well, but I am not picky and my son likes the excitement. No more! When we got back home, he was scared to have his evening bath: I must sue them for psychological damages. Just use a proper carwash, and spend your money on real hardworking people hoping to have your car washing business. Not this broken machine. read more

This Chevron has new pumps and machines, but the car wash was terrible. We had the full car wash; there was no discount even with a full tank gas purchase, so we ended up paying $9 for a terrible wash. The top of the roof wasn't even clean afterward, and there might as well be no drying -- the whole front windshield was totally wet afterward. read more
