Before leaving the salon, I was given aftercare instructions, which I followed exactly. After washing my hair for the first time using the shampoo I was instructed to use, the color turned orange instead of the caramel tone we had discussed with no sign of keratin. I contacted Kate about the problem, and she agreed that I should come back for a corrective appointment. Unfortunately, the corrective appointment made my hair significantly worse rather than fixing it. Afterward, my hair had multiple uneven shades, patchy highlights, excessive breakage, and became extremely dry, brittle, and overprocessed. My scalp also became irritated after the chemical services. The attached photos show the condition of my hair after these appointments. My hair was also left feeling fried and damaged instead of smooth and healthy. After the unsuccessful correction, I continued trying to resolve the issue directly with the salon. Kate ultimately issued only a partial refund after multiple discussions, leaving me responsible for hundreds of dollars despite the failed services and the condition of my hair. A corrective appointment and a partial refund would not have occurred if there had been no issue to address. The owner has publicly disputed my experience. I stand by this review. I have photographs documenting the results after my appointments, along with records of the corrective appointment, our communications, and the partial refund. I trusted this salon with my hair, and I am now dealing with damage that will take months to grow out and repair. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Tilila Hair Design.
