I found this salon a few years ago accidentally via groupon. I was looking for a new shop to call home since I was new to the area and needed a stylist I could go to for color, cut and styles when I needed it. When I called to inquire about the groupon special I was able to speak with the owner directly. Latoya, was professional and also apologetic in informing me that she had been trying to contact groupon for over a year to have them remove the groupon offer because the offer had expired. She was so friendly and nice I still was interested in using her for her services. She asked me to come in for a free consultation which I did. Three years later, I'm still a happy customer! She is able to give me exactly what I want every single time no matter how awful I am at describing it! She goes out of her way to accommodate my difficult schedule to fit me in. The shop is always clean and organized. She recently expanded and now runs both the bottom and top floors of the building and offers a variety of hair and nail services. I found one of their stylist through Twitter. I like what I saw so I booked an appointment (4 weeks in advance). Paid a $98 deposit. I had to cancel my appointment due to work travel obligations. If your cancel your appointment with over 2 weeks notice they will not return your deposit. They also don't respond to message sent through their "contact" tab on their website, so don't even bother going through there for more information. I'm sure they do great work, and I understand keeping deposit for late cancelations, but with over 2 weeks cancelation notice for no service rendered for knotless braids, it doesn't leave a good impression to not return my deposit or respond to my 2 messages I have sent since canceling. I won't be trying them in the future for that alone, but the star rating only reflects my experience through booking an appointment and not actual service received. Latoya is excellent with hair. All three times I used her services, my weave came out amazing. It only took her 3 hours to do my sew-in each time. But here's why I won't be returning: The first time, I brought my own hair and the price was really reasonable. The second time, I called and booked an appointment, the price was still the same. The third time, she asked me to book online. I did. It required a deposit. This time, when she finished my hair, I still had to pay the regular price out of pocket. Basically, it cost me 1.5x the original price to get my hair done the third time. And to make matters worst, I'm pretty sure she kept my extra bundles at least twice. I always have extra hair except when I go to her shop. And I noticed her walk off to the trash with the package once it got to the last two. For me, it's just not worth it. I found another lady to do my hair just as good for less. And I don't have to worry about guessing the price or any funny business with missing bundles. read more

Recently had a prolonged multi day EEG and desperately needed help getting the medical glue out of my hair, large sections were glued down & painful, my scalp was raw and irritated from the technicians. Latoya was careful, incredibly gentle, knowledgeable, and so kind. She used a variety of products to first lift and then remove the glue. I've had this test done multiple times and this is the first time I can say the removal was painless, all thanks to Latoyas knowledge and products. She also gave me a great trim! I'm still a little sore from what the techs did but she reduced my pain by 90%, I'm sure in a few days it will be like I never had the glue! read more

I had been thinking of visiting this salon for a while. Saw the groupon and considered it a sigh lol. Made my appointment for 1:00 on a Friday. Arrived at 12:50 was quickly washed and conditioned. My hair was blown pretty straight considering I haven't had a relaxer in two months. I got a nice trim and flat iron and was walking out the door by 1:40. This will be a place on my list to visit! I was attended by Latoya who is the owner from what I see on this card. Though I love the color and the style that I got,I don't think that the style was correct. Prior to my visit to the salon, I looked up silk press and consulted someone in California who does them to her children. I also looked at YouTube videos and pondered on how it looked when I had it done in 2004. Unfortunately, the style Latoya did on my hair was totally wrong. as soon as I walked to be no f road Bus station, my hair shriveled to its natural stated, and I was highly upset. I am not going to speak negatively about the services because I love my color, though I asked for a burgundy type of color. Now, I would like to come back in an have it redone the way a silk press is supposed to b done... (By someone else), Or I would like my full refund back. It's not fair to me that I paid so much money for this style to have my hair revert back to its natural state minutes later, is just impossible. I hope to get a response soon. read more
