Well, a mixed bag. I ordered 3 things, some wonton soup, some veggies, and a beef chow fun. The vegetable plate was good, and the chow fun was on par. However, I had sashimi wontons. What do I mean? The inside of all of my wontons were raw. No, not a little, not just one, but all. I'm not sure who was in charge of the wontons tonight, but wow, this is bad. My family had a Chinese restaurant and so I know the inner workings of the kitchen. I try not to be mean in my reviews of local restaurants because yes, it can be tough, but this is just unacceptable. read more

Don't come here during vacation times. They never have enough service. We waited 45 minutes once after ordering to get food. Food's ok. I have an msg suspicion. And since China Village left, we can't get crispy chicken any more. Today our soup came out Luke warm. It's always crowded, too. Especially during holidays. We've been here one hour and 1 dish just arrived. read more

Review for dimsum: Arrive at 11a on Sunday, and there were plenty of open tables. I thought the food was pretty good, but on the expensive side. Service is aggressively bad, which is standard for dimsum restaurants. Highlight: Xian Shui Jiao (deep fried mochi wrapped pork dumpling) I thought the mochi had great texture and was a pleasure to eat Chang fen with shrimp and Chinese donut - I haven't had this elsewhere and it was deliciously crispy Chicken feet - good texture, and comes spicy! Which was a bit of a surprise, but not mad about it. Lowlights: Chao zhou dumpling (fat rice dumpling with peanuts) - had a unique taste that I wasn't a big fan of Nuo mi ji (leaf wrapped sticky rice) - there was something in the filling that was just big lumps of gelatinous paste that was a bit questionable read more

I came here for dinner on a Monday. We had about 10 people in our party. One of our friend had brought fresh caught crab and fish. With the fishes that was caught we had turned it into a fried sweet and sour. We also used the fish to make soup and made tofu and greens. They also made us a special soy sauce with green onion and jalapeño. The other items that we ordered were greens and beef, pea sprouts, sweet and sour spare ribs, fried pork chops, green onion crabs and stew lamb. The stew lamb was so delicious so delicious. The sauce was so delicious and goes amazingly well with rice. They have bean curd, mushroom and lettuce to soak up all the sauce. The friend pork chop was so juicy and nicely fried. They paired it with an abundant amount of jalapeño and garlic. It was so perfect. The beef was very tender and nicely seasoned. The glazed sauce one the beef and greens was so fresh. We also ordered a combo plate. The combo plate included white chicken, soy sauce chicken, jelly fish, bbq pork and roast pig. The roast pig was decent. The skin was soft which usually means it's been left over and no longer crunchy. The bbq pork was a bit better bit still did not have enough bbq sauce and was a bit dry. The white chicken and soy sauce chicken was the better tasting meats. The jelly fish was ok but it was suppose to be spicy. But it was not spicy enough. We also had bitter melon with beef and egg whites. The bitter melon was nice and bitter. It was not overly soft and was not under cooked it was delicious and just the right amount of bitter to sweetness. It also had the nice crunch. The egg whites were little balls and i was a bit hesitant. But surprisingly it was delicious. For desert we got mango sago which didn't have much sago. And it was mostly mango juice. They then brought freshly steamed egg yolk bun. It was so warm and fluffy. And the egg yolk was delicious. read more

I usted to come to this location for dim sum before Covid and it got closed. So I was very happy when I found out that it's opened again. I have dim sum every week and have tried all the near by ones many times. This is a great place if you just want to have authentic dim sum. Don't expect too much for the service. The price point is also better than the other ones. The decor is not grand and you don't have to wait for seating (which is a selling point for me since I like to go . This is my 3rd time in the past 6 weeks Also they often have special. this time they have lobster noodle for only $28. But we were so full that we couldn't order it. I will go back another time and get this one :-) read more

We stopped by Cheung Hing for dim sum on Sunday around 11am and were able to get seated immediately. It was a little more crowded when we were leaving so coming in earlier is definitely the move. I actually liked almost all of the items that we ordered. My favorites were the beef stew rice noodle roll claypot and the shrimp crispy rice noodle roll. If you couldn't already tell, I'm a fan of rice noodles and these were some unique flavor combinations that I haven't seen before. Some of the other dishes that I enjoyed were the har gao, pan fried chive dumpling, and xiao long bao. I thought that the price was reasonable and the dishes were delicious, so I would definitely come back to try some of the other options. read more

A few of us visited Cheung Hing to see how the food was before we asked them if they could support a group banquet. Unfortunately, it was pretty bad. We sampled several dim sum and left disappointed. The pot stickers were the worst I've ever had. When I say worst, they were worse than any frozen potstickers you can buy. The shrimp dumplings were lacking flavor. The only thing that was good was a dimsum wrapped in a Chinese donut and then wrapped again in warm rice noodle. Sadly, I won't be returning to this restaurant due to the food quality. read more

I have not been there for years. They have a new menu and promotion- at least to me, the food was better than a decade ago. The Service was reasonable too. read more

WATCH OUT FOR FOREIGN OBJECT in WONTON! We visited this place in November and found a foreign object in the wonton soup (see in the picture). It looks like a part form stainless steel scrubbers. However, when we showed this to the server, the server said NOTHING about it, no apology, no discount, no nothing. Today we decided to give this place a second chance, and ordered roasted duck wonton soup. It came out to be only HALF the portion of what's shown in pictures from other yelp customers. We confronted with her and presented the pictute. She just kept denying it and say it's not the same store, even though we showed her the store name. I am very disappointed. Plus every time I visited, I have to wait for very long time for the server to respond to my request, even during non rush hour like 3pm. Would never visit this store again and please expect foreign object when you order Wonton or any other food from this store. read more

It's a new discovery. There's a bunch of Cheung Hing but this location I believe is the only one serves dimsum. It's pretty good and the decent price. A must try is Breaded Pumpkin with salted eggs, it's very good and we'll definitely come back here. All the dimsum we got is delicious and good portions. The fried rice is flavorful and definitely ordering again. The roasted porkbelly is good. Overall its a good experience. We came right when they open 1030am on Tuesday. Very attentive servers and we can't wait to go back again here. read more

Started coming over here for dim sum a few months back since it's close to where my daughter's piano lesson studio. We're pleasantly surprised by the high quality dim sum at reasonable prices and good service. Since then we came over for our weekly dim sum instead of the ones further north. read more

Came here for a farewell dinner with friends, and we had a very nice time! The restaurant has a lot of space; the entrance is in the back facing a parking lot, so it could be a bit obscure. Nevertheless, most of the food was a hit, and we especially enjoyed the sweet and sour fried pork chops. We ordered a special set since our table had so many people, and the half Peking duck that came with it was super nice. Honestly, for the amount of food we received, I expected the price to be much steeper, but for all of us to end up full, 35 dollars (including tax and tip) is a really good deal. I don't know if us speaking Chinese improves the service experience, but the staff serving us were very quick and attentive. They regularly checked in to give us more tea and water. read more

Love this new location. The food is fresh and very good selection. You have to have the roast duck, roast pig & boiled chicken. It's our go to place for real good Chinese food. Service is good, they try to be as attentive as a Chinese restaurant can be. Very nice people. read more

I used to come here when it was China Village and came in hoping for dim sum but they stop serving it by 2pm so we ordered the cumin lamb and a mixed seafood w/hot sauce in clay pot instead. Both were just ok for me. The clay pot was very mild and I was hoping for a stronger flavor from the cumin lamb as I've had at other Chinese restaurants. Service was also ok, and was kind of expected. We were served roasted/salted peanuts and tea right away. After that, you don't have a dedicated server, and you just need to flag anyone down. There are plenty of tables and it's good for large parties but it can get noisy. I'll have to come back during dim sum hours but probably won't be back otherwise. read more

A very affordable dim sum place, we came for dim sum on Sunday, a lot of people waiting for table. The food is ok, nothing very special.

Don't get duck thigh if you are ordering bbq combo platter. I got bbq combo platter with Roast duck, pork and duck thigh. Normally with 3 meat combo the meat would've been several pieces each type, but the duck thigh is just one single duck thigh similar to the size of 2 piece of regular duck meat, and it's extra $1.5. It looks very sad. Doesn't count as one meat at all. Also I got Egg Plant and Fish with Garlic sauce in clay pot and the dish I got had nothing to do with fish. It was just a plate of egg plant. When I called to confirm the dish, it's also very hard to communicate with the person. It seems like the only language they speak is Cantonese. I had to tell them 5 times that I ordered take out through Yelp. I'm not sure if I would order from here again. read more

Came here with 13 other people and it was pretty good! We ordered two of the family dinner sets. Each family dinner set came with a whole peking duck, soup, and 6 other entrees that you can pick. Each set was only $158, and they gave so much food! It was super value for the quality and quantity. The staff were also incredibly kind and recommended some popular dishes for us to try. It was a Wednesday night, so a little less than half of the restaurant was full. It wasn't very loud, and it was generally clean. There's also a parking lot out back for customers! Will come back another time for another gathering! read more

This review is for dinner and not dim sum. Avoid at all cost. Not sure how this location can be so different from Bel-Mateo. Short staff on a Tuesday and the food was awe full. How does a Cantonese style restaurant mess up on salt and pepper pork chops. This is a canto staple. It was as thin as a piece of paper and dry. They used old pork that has become beef jerky. Sesame chicken was a disgrace. It basically sweet and sour chicken which is just disgusting. Please close for dinner if you can get your act together. If you want good canto food blue sky cafe just down the road. read more

This is one of the many Cheung Hing restaurants in the area. They are mainly a dimsum and dinner restaurant. I've been to this Cheung Hing a couple of times for takeout dinner, never for the dimsum Service has always been good. We ordered a few different dishes from them. One of the items we've ordered is the Lobster E-Fu Noodles. The portion is large and is full of lobster. Parking is plentiful. It's a good restaurant. read more

Definitely one of the better ones around in terms of the food. A huge upgrade from the previous China xx restaurant at this location. The prices is steep. The smallest plates for $5.99 and majority of the orders are starting from medium. Definitely adds up. But then again, it's in Belmont. The custard buns are the best in town and so are chicken feet! Friendly but super busy waiters. A typical neighborhood Chinese dim sum restaurant that is pricier than others. All in all, a nice restaurant when you're in the neighborhood and wouldn't mind paying more than usual. read more

They provided terrible service. They told us we would get free soup but charged us for it (they used a specific Cantonese word that indicates "free soup"). They also charged tax on the tip, which is illegal in California. This place used to be good. Don't know what happened. read more

This restaurant is very loud and seems to be dirty everywhere. The service is the worst!!! You have to get out of your chair and get a staff member to help you. And they hear the first sentence you say and then they run off without letting you finish your order and requests. It is so very chaotic in the dining room... they need management and staff organization and training. One waiter passed by and spilled boiling water on one of our guests.... waiter did not stop or apologize. I brought it to his attention and he just looked at the guest and walked away, still no apology...VERY POOR form. I find this place very distressing, but the food is really, really good. I gave an extra star because the food is so tasty. read more

Came for Chinese New Year dinner on a Sunday night with my Mom- in-law, as she picked the restaurant and ordered the food. This is located in Belmont and the restaurant has change. Parking lot was bigger but the food was merely OK. Service was low to medium in terms of quality. Food was acceptable, and the ambiance can improve but was acceptable. This place needs an infusion of young wait staff who knows how to smile while wearing a KN95 mask, and serving plates of food. I always bark out 'A Thank You' every time a plate of food was served, but this place was not my first or second choice, since my Mom-in Law did not call for a reservation at her first choice for a CNY dinner. read more

Do not get the "lava" steamed bun. It is not lava. It's a hard custard inside. I made sure that I didn't order the custard one. And they confirmed that it was the lava...Very misleading and disappointing. Everything else was OK, standard. Most of the staff was nice and attentive. read more

Tried on multiple occasions. Employees are unfriendly, food is mediocre at best. The outside of the building is as drab and dreary as the inside, with the coldness and lack of professionalism from the counter staff to match. As we finally get our food delivered after 45 minutes, we get to spend the rest of our meal listening to 2 employees behind us slurp and smack their mouths while they ate dinner, shouting agressively to each other loud enough to hear from the Train Station nearby. It sounded like a pack of Hyenas stripping a Wildebeest carcas off the bones I love to support local, small businesses, but after 2 horrible experiences at this location and a 3rd at their location on 42nd Avenue in San Mateo, you will not be seeing me or my family anywhere near this business. read more

Super underwhelmed by Cheung Hing. We came at 12:15pm on a Wednesday and waited about 30 minutes for our table. This would have been fine, but when we were finally seated, we saw that the restaurant was easily 1/3 empty. Since we had time to look at the menu while waiting, we placed our order immediately upon sitting down. Still, it took 10 minutes (and following up) for us to receive our tea and almost 30 minutes for the first plate to be served. After that, it took another 20 minutes for the food to come out (and in complete disorder, aka our dessert arrived well before the rest of the meal). Food itself was very mediocre. Dumpling wrappers were thick, our noodles were soggy and flavorless, and everything was lacking. As for service, I'm not one to complain about service, particularly at local Asian establishments, but this was really bad. We had to aggressively flag multiple waiters down just to get some soy sauce and chili oil. Several staff members clearly heard us but chose to ignore us and keep walking. We also has several incorrect dishes placed on our table and then taken back. The restaurant itself is pretty old, and the tables, chairs, and carpet all reflect this. Unfortunately can't recommend them, especially given many other, better dim sum places in the Bay. read more

Came with hubs, he wanted the bitter melon with beef and the beef fried rice. I got the salt and pepper tofu and finally got to try the deep fried flounder. Flounder was very crunchy but it sat in the soy sauce too long and was too salty when eaten with the fried rice. Should've gotten plain rice. Beef fried rice was perfect on its own. Good value and taste. We arrived around 11:30am on Sunday and it was pretty busy. We ended up sitting in the back room (away from the main area). Service was nice and attentive on the day we were here. We marked numerous plates on the menu to order and they came out promptly about 10-15 minutes later. I recommend getting the rice noodles with XO sauce and shrimp rice noodles if you are fans of rice noodles. The baked bbq pork buns and Portuguese egg tarts are also winners here. Ordered takeout of chow mein and chow fun and bbq pork. Everything but the pork was almost inedible. I have been eating Chinese food as a Chinese American, esp noodles, for decades on the Bay Area and the dishes have to be among the worse or possibly the worst!
