For more than reasonable comfort Macao/Cantonese take out Hongry Kong is an excellent option. The meals were tasty and reasonable. Entrees served with rice or noodles. They also had a pretty tasty Hong Kong milk tea. Takeout Dim Sum also available. For the sampling I bought half a dozen har gao/shrimp dumpling and a handful of egg tarts. While they were pre-ordered and picked up warm, the hargao was sitting in a pool of water (from the steaming?) and we're soggy. The egg tarts were also warm with a nice flaky crust. I found the filling to be on the sweeter side, not to my liking. Would I be back? Would try some of their other dim sum next time...and for a another refreshing milk tea. Situated at a production site. Ring the doorbell for pickup (better to preorder) and staff will unlock the door to bring your order to you!

Catered dimsum order

I ordered a large catering order from Hongry Kong for our baby shower this past weekend and they were so wonderful to work with! I submitted an inquiry online about a month in advance and was texted back by Nikki who helped me customize my order for the headcount I was expecting. I wanted an assortment of dimsum that would make a pretty spread and also feed about 50-60 people. Nikki did a wonderful job making suggestions, though I would also advise that you take a look at their menu as well so you can decide what you'd like as well. I ordered about 200 pieces of dimsum, plus half trays of fried rice and chow mein. The food was such a hit - I heard such positive feedback about the food...and it was literally ALL GONE by the end of the event. Not a single dumpling left in sight! They were super responsive during the entire process and on the day of, they were on time, delivered the food straight into the venue, set it on the table, and were in and out before I even knew it! They brought their own food labels as well, which was fantastic. Highly highly recommend working with them for your large events - I know I will definitely be calling them again!

Got some dim sum catered from here at work. The fried items were delicious and crispy, and I really liked the fried chicken potsticker and shrimp dumping.

This food truck serves egg tarts! They're deliciously buttery with a flaky crust and creamy egg texture. As for the food, it was a quick meal that was filling but nothing super impressive. I tried the grilled chicken with their firecrackin' pepper sauce, which is a pepper and oyster sauce combination that has a heavy black pepper flavor. I also got an order of their pork & shrimp siu mai which were delightful and generously sized. The Hong Kong milk tea was refreshing but quite pricy at $5 imo, but food truck prices are expected. This is a food truck I've been looking forward too since they come to the Stanford campus once a month and I can't wait to get their egg tarts again!

Kong Bo It Up: Grilled Pork Chops with Black Pepper Sauce

I've ordered Hongry Kong's frozen dim sum before and it was all really good, but this time I ordered their Kong Bo It Up (grilled pork chops with black pepper sauce) with fried rice ($11). While the pork chops were thinner than I usually get from other Hong Kong style restaurants, they were tender and very tasty. The rice had peas and carrots in it, so it was a little more special than just plain white rice. I also got some frozen egg tarts ($9.80 for 10) that I know are delicious; the crust (at least the last time I had them) is very flaky and the custard is not too sweet. They're perfect still warm from your own oven. Just thaw the egg mixture in your fridge the day before you want to bake them, pour the mixture into the frozen shells, and bake... yummmm! Just like from a dim sum restaurant but even fresher and less expensive! The other items I ordered but have not tried yet are the baked cha siew bao and the cocktail buns. I'll have to reserve any comment on those until after I've tried them. I think they're going to be fantastic, though; you have to "proof" them before baking, so they'll at least be like fresh bread!

Pork cutlet and tangy tomato with milk tea and egg tart

Looking for that dim sum fix without having to sit in a restaurant with a bunch of others during COVID this is the spot. Actually if you just want some dim sum at home in your freezer for an easy meal because who says you can't have dim sum for dinner it's nice and convenient and tastes way better than anything you can get from the supermarket frozen aisle. We've gotten the frozen dim sum twice now and our favorite are the sui mai and the shrimp and chive dumpling. The Sui mai is my kids favorite and is a easy meal for her to heat up a few for dinner if she doesn't want to eat what the adults are eating. It tastes just like you would get from a tea lunch spot but even bigger in size and the convivence of eating anytime at home. The chive dumping I like better than the har gow since it's basically the same filling but also has some veggies. Seems healthier right. Also what is a game changer is the frozen take home dan tat. They come in a pack of 10 but there is nothing like fresh dan tat. They make the crust (takes forever to do it homemade) and the filling for you and all you need to do is thaw the filling and bake. That simple and you have fresh hot dan tat. I highly recommend the flaky if you wanted to get it. It's so much better fresh than picking up one that was sitting on the shelf at 85º or the ranch all day. I also like getting a couple of the kong bo it up like tomato or black pepper over spaghetti for a nice and simple meal. Even once coronatine is done I hope they keep their at home offerings up as it is a way better than the frozen stuff you get at the store. You won't be able to get that stuff usually the same or next day but text the number on the site if you have questions on when it will be available. They are pretty responsive to texts although expect some time for turn around.

Flaky Egg Custard Tarts

Unexpectedly delightful egg tarts (not too eggy or sweet) with perfect, disintegrate in your mouth flakiness. The other dim sum items i tried (siu mai, har gow, lotus leaf rice, bbq pork bun) were well-executed as well.

Hongry Kong catered for a mid autumn moon festival yesterday and really brought their A-game. Don't let the food truck fool you. They deliver top-notch dim sum (Ha gau, Siu Mai, egg tarts, veggie egg rolls) at a reasonable price , and the General Tso's chicken rice bowl is pretty dang good. Egg tarts run out fast at $2 each. Service is friendly and convenient. There's everything for the whole family. Great drink selection as well. Don't forget to try the HK style milk tea!

Spareribs and other frozen items for lazy lunch later.

I can eat this every week! Milk tea, pork chop tomato rice and egg tart would be my weakness. $8 for 6 eggtarts 5/5 Tomato sauce 5/5 Other dishes 3-4 depends on what you order. Don't pick cream white sauce. It is not cooked properly. Shelter in place last any long most of the restaurants will folded. ESP hot pot place, BBQ place and some restaurants depends heavily on business lunch / company expense restaurants. Thank god I think this place will be fine!

Overpriced and wasn't that good. I tried it and probably won't go again. Egg Tarts were great though but not worth the price.

There was no one else there when I arrived around 8pm on a weeknight. They have the typical mexican fare on the menu and I got a burrito and some carne asada tacos. The food was ready pretty quicky and even though they had some tables set up there, it was too cold so I took it back to my hotel 10 minutes away. The food was still piping hot and the meat was amazing! You could really taste the smoke and that's what did it for me. The size of the burrito was huge and I couldn't finish it, shifting my focus on the tacos as those were better. They come with cilantro and onions and packed with limes, but you need to grab your own salsa before you go from their salsa bar. I highly recommend this place!

Pleasantly surprised by what we would find. My nephew asked if the beef tongue was good but they weren't understanding so we just ordered one. He also got a carne asada taco and I got a mulita. They have a sala bar with cucumbers/radish, pickled onion and salsas. I had to try them all. They call you when it's ready. The beef tongue looked very interesting so we were skeptical about it. But after trying it, we were pleasantly surprised and he enjoyed it the most of the 2 tacos he got. The multia was only grilled on 1 side and the other tortilla was just slapped on top. All the other places we go to they grill both sides. It did have a nice cheese layer on it though. Good but would have preferred both sides grilled. Salas were good as well. I didn't get my receipt though but oh well. SYOY!

I ordered the mixed seafood platter along with a side of onion rings and fried zucchini sticks to share. I would give the seafood platter a 5/5. Everything was fried nicely and the fish really hit the spot for me. The fried calamari were also pretty unique and had a great texture. The real standout for me though was the onion rings. They were lightly battered, perfectly crispy, and honestly some of the best onion rings I've had in a while. I'd definitely come back just for those alone. Unfortunately, the fried zucchini sticks were just not very good. Not only were they very mushy on the inside, they also carried a strange aftertaste that I didn't enjoy at all. Service-wise, the owner was very friendly and welcoming, and the food came out pretty quickly even though we were some of the first customers of the day. The ambiance is very casual since it's a food truck setup, but the fruit stand right next to it gives the place a nice local charm and makes it a pleasant spot for a quick lunch.

I'm not above driving certain distances to find a particular truck I want to eat at. My strangeness aside, I was very interested in trying out this particular food truck gathering. The trucks change every week, but I recently went and two of the trucks were dedicated to southern style food. I'm from the east coast and a state that's typically classified as southern. I'm also used to more southern style foods so I was on guard. Tried a BBQ truck and one that specializes in chicken and waffles. I'll start with the chicken and waffles. Got the bites with bacon and on first taste was in love. Love. With chicken and waffle bites (the bacon doh). They hit the seasoning just right it was the perfect sweet and savory balance. Plus the guy ringing me up was so nice. At the BBQ truck, I tried the two meat plate and loved their brisket. Very glad I went out. This one circles the wagons every Wednesday, rain or shine. It was pouring when I stopped by recently post-run. The museum ($15 for adult tickets) did have tables just inside the door for those who stopped by in the rain to eat.
