food truck

It's a random local food truck in San Carlos, like randomly in the middle of an industrial road, with a bunch of nearby workers chilling for lunch. At the time, they didn't have prices listed which I find to be a dishonest practice. My order of 3 tacos and 2 quesabirria was about $21. I tried asking if they had any other recommendations but there was a language barrier. - Tacos My pastor, asada, and lengua tacos were solid, but not amongst the best. The pastor tasted more like regular grilled pork instead of a typical marinaded pastor. The asada was standard, and the lengua was tender. Some parts of the meat had crunchy bits. It's just good if you're local. I appreciated how they toasted the tortillas. I wish they used more fresh cilantro. - Quesabirria We've had quesabirria from a few places in the bay already, and this one was just okay. The tortilla is toasted to be crunchy, and it's quite meaty with some onions and tomatillo, and it oddly comes with some mash of sour cream, orange sauce, and lettuce and pico... almost like it needs that extra flavor. The consomme was more oil than any flavor, so I would not get quesabirria from here again unless you have a very strong craving. They also serve pupusas, so I wonder if they're Salvadorean. It's not worth the drive here, especially since there's already pretty good trucks and taquerias around the neighboring cities where they have transparent pricing.

Tried this when they were at Blue Oak Brewing. I like how they have a variety of options. I got their cheese pupusas. My husband got their California burrito. He did ask for it spicy. FYI, their spicy sauce is spicy. He enjoyed it but did regret saying he wanted it spicy hahaha. I mixed their red hot sauce with the tomato sauce that came with the pupusas and really liked it. I enjoyed the pupusas overall. This was a good food truck to go with blue oaks drinks. Hoping they are there again when we go back.

Tried this food truck at a brewery today. Staff were nice! We got the steak fries and it was about $28 after tip. The prices for the menu were not filled in on the truck, so we didn't know prior to ordered. It's very expensive, but paired well with the beers. I did wish the fries were more crispy and jalapeño were sliced.

We grabbed lunch at Ramo's Food while visiting Blue Oak Brewing Company. I ordered two Super Tacos - one with Pollo and one with Carne Asada. Service was friendly and the wait wasn't bad at all - maybe 10-15 minutes. Unfortunately, I might've ordered wrong. I didn't realize the Super Tacos came with rice and beans INSIDE the taco and wasn't really a fan of that. There also wasn't nearly enough cheese for me. However, my friend's street tacos looked a lot better. Would return to try something different!

Came here twice since it's really close to my gym (I know, I know..) Tried their quesabirria, pupusas, churros, and burrito. So far, everything tasted pretty good but my absolute favorite is churros. They're amazingly crispy yet soft, sweet but not overwhelming, and the cream filling just beats them all.. it was heaven! I will get a dozen churros next time, lol. Their pupusas are okay. I never had that many pupusas to be able to tell.. their birria are good too, I don't particularly like the spicy birria. The mild ones are better.

Who knew an unassuming food truck outside an Office Depot would serve some of the best pupusas I've ever had. I got the beans and pollo pupusa. They were both delicious. Perfect texture and filling was amazing. Also got Carnitas burrito. I loved that they grill their tortilla. The carnitas was delicious. Highly recommend stopping by, this might become your new go-to food truck!

Tacos are delicious, with fresh tortillas. Definitely the best food option in this neighborhood.

Must-try birria spot - I keep coming back for a reason…read more This place is on my list of must-tries for Mexican food, and I've been here countless times at this point. The beef birria tacos are SO good like the flavor, the birria consomme, the sauce, the meat. Everything just hits right. This is a legit hole-in-the-wall kitchen, and that's exactly what makes it special. No frills, just really good food that keeps you coming back. Every time I'm craving birria (which is often), this is where I go. The quality stays consistent every single visit, which is huge. You know exactly what you're getting and it never disappoints. For the price and taste, the value is excellent. You're getting authentic, flavorful birria without paying sit-down restaurant prices. If you're in the area and craving some birria tacos, do yourself a favor and try this place. It's the kind of spot that turns into a regular rotation real quick. Trust me, I'm proof of that.

Summary: Flavorful, but HEAVY…read more Details: They just opened up a new branch in SF, but we wanted an excuse to hit up San Mateo, and Latin American is always a good enough excuse. While photos of their SF location suggest some seeing, this OG location is pretty much pickup/delivery only: a fairly literal hole in the wall, located along a random quiet street. Most folks would probably opt to take home or eat at one of the "nearby" parks, but we've gotten in the habit of just eating in the car, which... not so great for something as messy as birria lol. I'll say that for most folks, this would probably easily be more a 4 star spot, while for us, it's more a 2 star since we're unlikely to come back. That's not to say the food was bad: on the contrary, the flavors were quite good, and the consomme was less salty than some of the others we've tried. But their food is HEAVY. Not just the birria itself, but also the burrito we got, and heavier than other places we've been for some reason, with the birria sitting in a pool of oil soon after we picked it up. This probably isn't a deterrent for most people though, so take this as you will. Accessibility: Not too relevant since this is really just a pickup spot, with the pickup window being at the usual height you'd find elsewhere.

When you walk in, you place your order directly with the cashier. If dining in, they will provide you with a basket of chips and you choose from an open table. The booths are a bit cramped with no space at all between yourself and the table but comfortable enough otherwise. There is a self service salsa bar in the corner - we really liked the creamy green salsa. Had just a slight kick but my 3 and 5 year old both loved it. I got a taco salad which is served in a taco bowl with all the ingredients of a super burrito, minus rice and cheese. It was very good, but the bottom of the shell gets really soggy so you can really just eat the top of the shell where it's still crispy. The rest of the family got super burritos and were very happy - the meat was crispy in some parts and moist/soft in other parts and the ratio of the other ingredients were perfect to complement the protein. Everyone left full and happy. Don't forget to get a sweet, cool, refreshing horchata drink to help wash down your meal!

This time on Door Dash, it was clear one fish taco was specified (or maybe we didn't notice last time). I thought the taco was good, but my second taco completely fell apart. There was no one else there when I arrived around 8pm on a weeknight. They have the typical mexican fare on the menu and I got a burrito and some carne asada tacos. The food was ready pretty quicky and even though they had some tables set up there, it was too cold so I took it back to my hotel 10 minutes away. The food was still piping hot and the meat was amazing! You could really taste the smoke and that's what did it for me. The size of the burrito was huge and I couldn't finish it, shifting my focus on the tacos as those were better. They come with cilantro and onions and packed with limes, but you need to grab your own salsa before you go from their salsa bar. I highly recommend this place!

Pleasantly surprised by what we would find. My nephew asked if the beef tongue was good but they weren't understanding so we just ordered one. He also got a carne asada taco and I got a mulita. They have a sala bar with cucumbers/radish, pickled onion and salsas. I had to try them all. They call you when it's ready. The beef tongue looked very interesting so we were skeptical about it. But after trying it, we were pleasantly surprised and he enjoyed it the most of the 2 tacos he got. The multia was only grilled on 1 side and the other tortilla was just slapped on top. All the other places we go to they grill both sides. It did have a nice cheese layer on it though. Good but would have preferred both sides grilled. Salas were good as well. I didn't get my receipt though but oh well. SYOY!
