This spot is great! They told me a lot about chickens and they were very casual and did not try to cheat my money.

Always a pleasure to deal with. Long Island is lucky to have them for horses, poultry and livestock.

He's had 2 litters all beautiful loving healthy trained them to be service dogs they are all aca. I found homes and some I gave to the shelty animal rescue league of long island. Not one has had any issues. I highly recommend this location. Everyone was friendly and the price was fair for this type of dog. I have had strokes and Spencer follows me where I go protects me as if he was a watchdog. Sleeps with me. He knows when my sugar is high. He knows when my husband who has ms is going to fall. I'm so thankful for Spencer and Shake a paw.

We were looking at a 4-1/2 month old Huskimo. I understand you have operating costs, but they were completely inflexible with the price, not even willing to budge $100 for a $2800 dog. But its kind of hard to say No to your daughter when she instantly fell in love with this girl. They sold us and Im 100% positive they did so with the knowledge of how sick this dog was. The 1 month of Vet care they give you does nothing when it still cost us $1000's of dollars after that 1 month ran out. Our poor Stella was and still is teeming with 3 different parasites. She also has a high level of protein in her urine and we were told its crystalizing. The worst is the Giardia. This dog absolutally refuses to defecate outside. And when she poops inside she starts eating it as shes pooping making it next to impossible to get rid of these parasites. We have tried several different meds including super drugs made by a compounding pharmacy. All efforts provided us with no positive results. As I said... this dog was $2800 and out out of pocket vet expenses above and beyond the first months free vet care is now pushing the cost of her. You also have a VERY limited number of Vets you can take them to during the first month. When we were doing the paperwork, they gave no impression that the extras they were giving us were going to cost. We figured since no one said anything that it was included in the cost of the puppy. The only thing they sold us of any value (as told to us by their vet and ours) was the kibble. Everything else was unnecessary, and a complete money grab on their end. That cost us another $600. They refused to provide us with any information about the Dame and Sire only saying they were Huskimos. Its been 2-1/2 months since we got Stella. We have her in training with a professional canine company. But she's still is sick with non stop diarrhea. Which as I stated earlier, she will only go in the house. 9 times out of 10 she misses the wee wee pad. She also walks in a squating position while pooping leaving a trail everywhere! Shake a Paw states, No refunds, but we will give you a store credit. Why in the hell would I want another diseased animal from you? And what kind of an A-hole returns a pet. In for a penny, in for a pound. I sincerely hope that people see this review prior to making the decision to buy any animal from them.

The vet tech and veterinarian were both friendly to both my dog and I. The vet tech even helped me choose the right dog food for my dog's new diet. The lady at the register inside of the store was also friendly playing games and doing tricks with my pup while she checked us out. It is worth driving to this location due to the friendlier staff.

The problem was the grooming manager expected the employee to come discussed the mishap with me. The manager should have came out to discuss the mishap with me with the employee to speak. Maybe teaching the employee hot to converse with the customer. Instead she sent a young inexperienced employee to talk to me. I am pretty sure this would be within the scope of the managers duties. Like I said, it was really not a problem but the task of speaking to the client should have not been a problem either. The manager should have taken the opportunity to teach the employee a mature way to interact with a customer and handle what could have been a heated situation. When I did ask to speak to the manager, I loudly heard her say, "lovely, here we go" and I waited about 15 mins. It was disappointing. Like I said, it really wasnt a problem, but to send a young newer employee to discuss it was a problem; super unprofessional. I wish I remembered the managers name. She was clearly not management material. She treated her employees and customers the same, and it was not positive. I work in senior management and would love to know if my employees where doing an exceptional job or the opposite. I hearts to have to leave a negative review. It was heart breaking to see the management at the new Petco in Plainview. Management has a responsibility to teach and support employees to help them move on to bigger and better; not putting them in hard situations and lower their confidence and self esteem. I liked Petco and I liked a few groomers that worked there. Unfortunately, that Petco has done a disservice to the corporation hiring unsuccessful managers or promoting the wrong because of social relationships made. Petco should be paying more attention to what is happening in its stores. Yhe employees are usually more helpful then any manager. It is also very easy to see which employees the management favors which is grounds for dismissal at my firms. Rewarding hard working employees is different that showing favoritism. I wish I was able to add names, people should be held accountable. I doubt this review will do anything because the employees im question are not mentioned. They should be held accountable. I did not want to go back there but maybe going to get some names wouldn't be a bad idea. There is absolutely nothing wrong with management and employees taking courses on everything from treating customers, coworkers, employees. As well being organized by cleaning between clients in a timely manner. Even the way you present yourself to customers. A smile goes a long way. I am sorry this was long but from someone who is a senior management, starting from well the bottom (which i dislike saying) many little easy tricks are picked up along the way.
