I recently attempted to schedule grooming services at this PetSmart location and had a very disappointing experience. I was unable to book online, so I called the store. The associate who answered placed me on hold, which was not an issue. However, the store manager -- who did not identify himself as the manager at first -- abruptly got on the line and spoke to me in a rude and hostile manner, reprimanding me for previously canceling appointments. For context, I have been a loyal PetSmart customer for over twelve years. I had a very sick Yorkie who recently passed away, and there were times I needed to cancel appointments because of his condition. To be spoken to in such an unprofessional and insensitive way, especially after years of patronage, was extremely upsetting. I will be contacting corporate regarding this incident, and unfortunately, I will not be returning to this location. read more

They got charged more than the agreed price, because after the fact this awful human being was claiming he was matted. She doesn't know how to cut hair, when you're told a trim that doesn't mean you buzz all the hair off. Reggie should not be cutting hair, she uses a buzzer because she lacks the skills in grooming. Terrible experience once again here. Appointment for my yorkie was at 1230pm. Granted the lady did let us know she has 2 dogs ahead and it would be about 3 hours. Ok understood, 5pm rolls around and no contact, so I call and they say he's still not ready. I went to the store to retrieve my dog that's been there almost 5 hours now. Also he was not even half done with his hair cut or service at that time I arrived. Also was told my dog is marked as "difficult" from the last terrible encounter with this place. Not sure if they are holding a grudge against my 8lb yorkie although he's never bitten anyone or barked at anyone. So not sure why he's difficult. IF I COULD GIVE ZERO I WOULD! Walked in this week and bought a fish. I noticed another fish was dead and some of the other fish looked sick (the one i had looked perfectly fine though and was not in a tank with the dead or sick looking fish). I told staff and they said they would take care. Well I come home today and my new pet is DEAD. I've owned fish for over 15 years and have never had this happen. I called the store they seemed very dismissive and like they did not care. DO NOT GO HERE!!! My dog Oliver has gotten his grooming done with Melissa G three times now, she is absolutely amazing. Melissa is so gentle and really takes into consideration what we wanted. I am sorry for only giving two stars because I love the store. I was in there today and wherever I walked there was dog urine on the floor and there was no one around cleaning it up and I had my dog with me and I had to give her a bath when I got home because she slipped on dog urine. You really need to have staff be on top of that or really be on top of customers to clean up after their dog and also outside going into the store. I took my pug here to get groomed since the groomers at the Pet smart in Bellmore sucked terribly. Overall I was very happy with how my pug came out, they definitely cleaned her well, they cleaned everything perfectly and trimmed her nails nicely. I've been coming to this particular Petsmart location for more than a year for grooming and some supplies. We were very fortunate to connect with Linda and my 11 y/o Yorkie, Sondra. She has made the experience worry free and consistently gives my Sondra a thorough & attentive grooming. I live the "report card" Sondra gets at the end of the grooming session, outlining the work that was done and a general assessment of Sondra's health (and also a report on Sondra's behavior during grooming!) Groomers are good, but for some reason they are neglecting to trim the dew claw nails.

Had a great experience with the grooming department today. Our puppy was traumatized by our last groomer. I explained the situation to Jessica, who was very understanding. She called me during the grooming to update me which impressed me very much. When I picked our puppy up, she looked so cute. Jessica explained how it went, how to help the puppy for her next appointment and how, yes, she would groom her again. - I was worried my traumatized puppy would be a problem. Jessica was terrific, the on- line appointment scheduling was easy. I also liked that the dogs are groomed right up front, not hidden somewhere in the back. read more

Do not bring your dog here. This place is by far the worst groomer I've ever had to experience. Our dog has a sensitive mouth and in the past groomers had some trouble trimming strictly around his mouth. Due to this matter , the groomer did not even try. She left his entire head untouched and on top of that left his body in patches and returned him to us with clumps of Hair falling off. I called customer service to make a complaint and the woman immediately threw in "well you weren't charged" and didn't seem to care the condition my dog was left in. I should start my saying that my dog did not get groomed here, so I can't comment on their abilities or techniques as a groomer. that being said, I did have an app set up. I set it up and also confirmed through their website a few hours before heading to the store. I've got an 80 pound labradoodle, loaded him up into the car and started our 25 min drive over to petsmart in Levittown. I get inside with my dog and go to the grooming area and tell the woman at the front that Im here for my 12:30pm appointment. She looks at me and says "did you book through the website? yea I don't know why it let you do that, I'm fully booked". She offered no apology, no attempt to fit me in, no Help at all. I really wish that someone at petsmart would have just called or emailed me to say there was an issue and they could not take my dog that day. Instead they say nothing and I end up driving 25 min with an 80 pound dog just to be told, "we are not honoring your appointment, go home". totally an unacceptable way to do business. I will never take my dog back for grooming here, but pets mart has now also lost a customer for dog food and etc too! read more

Shameless money grubbing SOB's. I brought our new 30 lb mixed breed dog there last September for grooming (bath, haircut, nails) the price, $103.19. We brought him back there this weekend (two months later) again for a bath, haircut, nails, the price- are you ready for this: $161.85. Yes, $161.85! The groomers first told me it's because it's the weekend. Then they said it was because he's now two months older (yes they actually said that). Then the useless store manager came over and said their pricing went up and also because it's a week before Thanksgiving. Really? Price gauging now?! Would've been nice to know all of this beforehand so I could've canceled the appointment and gone elsewhere. None of this shameless price gauging was explained when we dropped off our pet. But that's how's scammers work. She then blamed the company stating it's their fault and she can't do anything about it. So she's a store manager with no abilities - basically what's known as a "Stupivisor". You know, someone in charge "on paper" but is really not in charge and has zero power or caring for customer service. She handles all problems by handing out corporate's 800 number to handle issues. Any attorneys out there? Is there a case for being charged $103.19 two months ago and now $161.85 because....let's see --it's the weekend, and he's two months older and Thanksgiving is next week. Service doesn't exist for the shopping experience but the store layout is pretty nice. We just went to the back for cat stuff, got what we wanted and were out of there in a timely fashion. The prices are also much better than Petco so if you can go here instead, do that. Oh, and if you have a soft spot for animals you definitely can't go near the pet adoption area. Was at this pet smart location to buy fish food. I was looking at the fish selection as I was interested in buying a pleco. I wasn't sure about which one was good for my tank. Another customer was helping me. The worker butted in while the customer was helping me and was super rude and was telling me these are warm tanks and my fish would eat the pleco. That is fine, which is why I was waiting to ask before making a purchase. But the worker was so nasty about it and cut me right off. So unprofessional. I would give it 0 stars if it let me. I got my dog groomed here a couple days ago and the lady that groomed my dog gave him a huge razor burn/ cut ON HIS THROAT. I was not informed of this at all when i went to go pick him up. I was still charged nearly $70 for the service. I called the groomer and she simply said she wouldn't have cut him and not inform me, but that's exactly what happened. I have been taking my dog to get groomed at this location since he was a puppy. Some of the groomers at this location are understanding and kind. However, there are some who are rude and have changed the breed of my dog multiple times in order to charge me more. My dog is a Cavalier King Charles and Maltese mix, at first they explained to me that they had changed it because he was starting to get a little bigger. Then AGAIN they completely changed his breed to a Cockapoo. When I asked why? they gave me the same excuse and told me going foward they will be keeping it as a Cockapoo, even thought that is not his breed at all, he does not have curly fur like a cockapoo does and he is not the as big as a Cockapoo. The groomers typically do a hands of assessment to check of knots or matted areas before-hand. They did check him for knots told me he was fine, then once it was time to pick him up they told me they had to charge more because they found a knot behind his ear.. Next thing I know I was getting charged $30 more then I originally thought I would be spending. Safe to say I won't be going back there since this has become an on going issue. read more

This is referring to the grooming salon - If I could put 0 stars I would. My dog has gotten groomed here time and time again and all of a sudden they denied grooming my small 6 LB dog because she is on a medication that is not on their approved list, mind you, it is also not on the DENIED LIST. HAS NEVER BEEN AN ISSUE BEFORE ALL THESE YEARS. Spoke to the manager (who is wondeful!) he left it up to the discretion of the groomer who still denied doing the grooming when my dog needs it as she has matts that I can't fix on my own. He said he would try to work something out with a different groomer. It is ridiculous that they are not on the same page. I had to wait about an hour for them to find someone who could provide them the list, just to be told no again. Unbelievable and disappointed! Uncoordinated, rude, very disorganized. read more

I've used this particular PetSmart multiple times in the past and every time I go, i'm more and more impressed. Mind you, I've only ever used this location for it's Banfield Vet service and general pet item pickups. I've done several online purchase to in store pick up's before and each time it's a seamless, incredibly quick process. The variety in their goods and the amount of selection they have always leaves me impressed given what I've seen some of their other stores look like. Banfield Vet service is a service I stand by as I've utilized it in multiple states. Using a single system to track your pet's healthcare is incredibly convenient when you're always on the move. My only complaint about PetSmart is typically it's prices as they're usually a little more inflated then other alternatives. I do most of my shopping online when I can for that reason. I would also like to point out that I do not use their grooming service which is where most of their complaints stem from apparently. read more

They have pretty much whatever you need for your animals, the store is set up well, and I've never had a problem with the workers. It's rare that there are long lines, there may be an animal accident here or there, but reasonably clean for a pet store. High marks overall. Also helpful that they have a doctor and a groomer. I have used the groomer, and didn't have an issue but stopped using them due to lack of availability relative to standalone services. read more

I use this location as the primary store my animals needs. Today I took two of my dogs to get their nails trimmed down at the groomers there. The oldest of my dogs needs to be muzzled, not only for the groomers protection from being snipped at, but also it comforts my dog making him more relaxed. As soon as the groomer was told about the need of a muzzle he immediately gave a sigh and said aloud " Oh.... Really?!" As if it presented a major issue. First off the making of comments aloud to the dog owners is unacceptable. Second, muzzles are equipment that is necessary for many dogs. So if the need arises to use one, it should be done as prescribed. If one has issues performing their job , then maybe it's time to look for employment elsewhere! The other groomer had no issues tending to my younger dog and was a pleasure to deal with. Next time I need to use their grooming services, I will request that a specific person tend to my dogs. This isn't the first time I was subjected to a negative attitude from a groomer here and it is getting very tiring. I am just grateful that there are other groomers that work there that's don't give customers attitudes. read more

This is a good location overall. They have a large selection but that's expected considering the chain. I liked their layout. It was clear that dogs were on one side and cats on the other. No wandering this time Some other reviews have mentioned customer service and I didn't see a problem with it. The woman working the register smiled at me when I entered. Sure it wasn't a huge welcome but come on, expecting more is silly. I wasn't asked at any point if I needed help but thankfully I didn't. And when I checked out the same girl who welcomed me took care of me and was efficient. The store needs a little bit of a touch up. But it's not in bad shape. I like that they have a 'doctors office' in the back. The reason I'm giving 4 stars is when we checked out there were a bunch of people on line and only one register. That's not efficient.
