This is a good location overall. They have a large selection but that's expected considering the chain. I liked their layout. It was clear that dogs were on one side and cats on the other. No wandering this time Some other reviews have mentioned customer service and I didn't see a problem with it. The woman working the register smiled at me when I entered. Sure it wasn't a huge welcome but come on, expecting more is silly. I wasn't asked at any point if I needed help but thankfully I didn't. And when I checked out the same girl who welcomed me took care of me and was efficient. The store needs a little bit of a touch up. But it's not in bad shape. I like that they have a 'doctors office' in the back. The reason I'm giving 4 stars is when we checked out there were a bunch of people on line and only one register. That's not efficient. I was trying this branch for the 1st time and had made reservations for my 2 golden retrievers about a week ago. Just received a phone call telling me that 1 groomer has gone sick and they have to cancel my appointment for 1 of my dogs. The point of making a reservation is to have the service requested honored. I'm sorry that their groomer went ill, but I think the store should make some kind of accommodations in case this happens. Are you suppose to change your plans 2 days to accomodate their schedule a day before your scheduled appointment? Spoke to the manager, got no where, just a sorry. Maybe that's why your yelp score is a 2 and a half. He tells me their store is a lot more busier then the others. Well I can't understand why, with this kind of service. read more

Although I like the Pet smart location in Levittown, I am not happy with the groomers. I took my golden there three times. The first visit was for a bath so he could get use to the place, I was told he fell of the table. I brought him to a different groomer the next time for a bath & trim. I asked them to trim him but not to feather him since it was his first haircut. He came back all chopped up, I assumed it was because I asked them not to feather his fur. I brought him a third time for a bath & trim. I was called and told to head down he is almost done. When I went to pick him up the bill was higher, they were not going to say anything at first, then they said we charged you an extra 8 dollars because he was stubborn and we could not get him to the stations without help. A different groomer brought him out to us. She took the leash off and let him loose in the waiting area with an attitude. She placed her hand out for the tip. The door to the store was not fully shut, we had to shut the door and chase him around the waiting area to get a leash on him. He was shaved short like a lab, no feathering, all chopped up, they cut off his feathers and even cut one of his eyebrows. His stomach was shaved like for surgery. I usually don't complain, but I called up to speak to the manager. I got the assistant and she asked if I would like a discount for the next visit. I told her I would not be back, and I was really upset that they let my dog loose in the facilities in addition to not getting what I asked for. She told me they had to be on leash at all times and this was a safety issue. I wound up speaking with the manager the next day. She was aware of the situation and saw it all on surveillance video. The manager was upset and offered to fully refund the grooming. I would not recommend bringing your dog here; they are not properly taken care of. read more

The young lady working at cashier #611731 on 9/30/17 at 4:37 pm displayed unacceptable and unfriendly behavior. She was rude and kept her back turned away from from us. this review is solely on the GROOMING DEPARTMENT. We brought our 1 year old Shiba inu here on a whim on a Saturday afternoon after a dirt filled visit to the dog park. After we dropped him off the girl told us he would be ready no more than 2 hours. Two hours passed and I hadn't heard anything from them so we just showed up. The same girl from earlier, said "hold on I'll go get him" (so he was ready stuck in a cage and you did not call us?) I was already ticked off then, she comes out and he is soaking wet and she said--"he wouldn't let us cut his nails" --what the hell does that even mean?? So now im paying 40$ for a bath?? Will never go again, ridiculously overpriced with uncaring teenagers working there. Terrible. read more

After being badly groomed at this Petsmart, she came home with FLEAS for the first time in her life. She also acted traumatized and skiddish. This review is SOLELY of the grooming department. I had gotten a puppy that needed attentive grooming. Each time I brought him in, they lost his vaccination records. The first time I got a full groom for him, the staff clearly was not patient with him at all, while he was only a puppy getting his first ever full groom. I went to bring him back a month or 2 later for a sanitary trim when he cowered by my leg and nervous peed. They clearly terrified him, I don't think they hurt him, but he clearly was not comfortable there. I have found a groomer who is sweet as can be and does not charge an arm and a leg; there's no reason to bring your animal to get groomed here-especially a puppy. read more

This is by far the most dirty store I've seen in all my travels. I had to dodge poop on floor & urine in many places. They had one very nice girl on the floor helping customers and a couple moving things around shelves but nobody to clean the floors and I was there a very long time because Banfield didn't like the format my dog food Rx was in so I had to call my vet and get them to fax it in and even after the veterinarian even faxed it in they still didn't like it, but that did finally get worked out. At checkout the girl was nice. Only one person stood out in this store and that was the sales associate on the floor helping people, I wish I would have gotten her name. read more

DO NOT GET YOUR PET GROOMED HERE!!! I made the mistake of last minute taking my pet to pet smart for a grooming. My husband showed the girl what he wanted and she said she understood. When he picked up our dog it looked like he had been butchered. She shaved too close to his eyes and now they are all red. His head it almost bald and he has bald spots on his stomach. It was against my own judgement to bring him there but again I needed a last minute grooming. I will never again be coming here even in a tight situation. read more

I am in this store almost every weekend. It makes me sound like a total loser, but the fact that they have a kitty adoption center and are partnered with a dog rescue organization, is a HUGE part of it. Add the personable dog food reps available on weekends that are armed with coupons, their "sale" rack, and their petperks deals, and I am in heaven. The employees are not always visible; if you ever need one, go to the front of the store, near the registers, and you'll be likely to find one. Once you do, they will be more than happy to help you with any needs you might have. The store is clean, well-lit, and very organized. The main "sale" rack is at the front of the store, and houses products mostly for cats and dogs. The selection is great, but just keep an eye out that they discount your item accordingly...will get to that in a bit. If you are looking for dog clothes, hit the back of the store, and you'll be likely to find something for your pampered pup. As much as I like this store, I had to take off a star because on more than one occasion, I purchased something from their "sale" rack that was not discounted properly. And I didn't realize it until I got home. I didn't bother coming back the first time, as the price I would have paid in gas would have been more than the sale price. However, the last time it happened, I actually went back, as it was pretty significant. I explained the issue to the manager without bringing in the item, and she took my word for it (I had the item in the car, just in case), which was really great, as it would have been a total pain to go back to the car to get it. What would be better is if they blocked out the code on the sale item, so they couldn't be scanned, and printed a new code specifying the discounted price, to avoid situations like mine. So I went here to buy turtle supplies and I want to start by saying the girl whom helped me was nothing but rude. She just kept throwing things in my car and didn't explain them, then when I asked questions she kept ignoring me and would roll her eyes saying "you need this." I also wanted to purchase a tank. (They are having the dollar a gallon sale) they had no 20 H except for ones that used to be in a box but was taken out because it had lights missing. They wanted 64 bucks! So I said Petco had the same regular glass tank for 20 and she's tells me "okay then go there." Uh. I like coming to this pet smart. When I need help with an item I find someone and they all seem knowledgable. There are not to many people always around but when you do find someone they are helpful. I find Ebbie the dog trainer super helpful. You can always ask her questions about your pet and she is always willing to help and never pushes products on you that you don't need. Kerrie the manager was amazing. My cousin and her husband bought a puppy and they have not one clue how to care for a new puppy. Poor things... I called up frantically and asked Kerrie to put aside the items they needed for the new puppy in a cart to ease their tension when they got to the store. I couldn't meet them there. The guy Matt at Shake A Paw in Hicksville was trying to sell them at least 15 items that they didn't need, that were almost 3x the price in a normal pet store. He was very rude and nasty. Not a nice first experience for bringing home a new baby Morkie. Kerrie took her time and explained each product I suggested to my cousin and her husband. She suggested whatever I might have not mentioned and was beyond helpful! We will be forever grateful! Thank you Kerrie!!! read more

My dog, 4lb Morkie, has been groomed by the same groomer her whole life. I have since moved and it is very inconvenient for me to drive 50mins for her to be groomed as we all know grooming takes hours. I decided to give pet smart Levittown a shot despite the negative reviews I had read prior (on yelp). I called and made an appointment seamlessly. I arrived on time and had a great consultation with Karen. I described to her Lola's temperament (feisty), the cut I would like, her back ground etc.. I was promptly called 3 hours later that Lola was finished and when I arrived she was as cute as a button and smelled great! I had a great expeirence and i hope you do too! I also have used the banfield pet hospital at this location and has been the greatest of Pet smarts yet! read more

This location has always had a weird reputation and now two unpleasant experiences in two days in a row definitely warrants a warning about this place. First off, check your receipts carefully. Petsmart seems to be the only place that automatically charges you a "donation" without your consent. Happened twice already , and manager then claims we must have pressed a button to do so. Yea right, $10 donation on a $10 purchase. He seemed a bit annoyed fixing this problem. On the second day, we went to buy some fish for our fishtank , and a woman claiming to be the manager of petsmart, someone named Angie, refused to sell us two tiny $1.89 fish because she said our tank was too small ( a tank we bought there last month that had a picture of of many fish in this 5 gallon tank. While she said that , I incredulously looked at their fish tanks and seen a bunch of dead fish stuck in the filters.(don't they ever maintain these tanks??) You can't make this stuff up. Stay away from this place, it totally makes my skin crawl, and corporate will get a snapshot of this experience. read more

This is absolutely the worst Petsmart I have ever been in. I never get greeted, ask if I need help and when I do need help there is no one to be found. We only go here because it is currently the closest Petsmart near us. My boyfriend and I were purchasing an aquarium and we waited to get our fish last. We were in the store for at least an hour before we got the fish and no customer interaction occured. The woman who helped us was really unenthusiastic, and gave us an attitude through everything. She made us feel unwelcome and want us to leave the store ASAP. We didn't even get all the fish we wanted. I personally used to work in a pet store and I never ever acted like that, even on my worst day. I even tried to be nice and make conversation about one of the fish since I couldn't see them all hiding behind plants and she said "they're supposed to do that." Then she called for extra help when a family came behind us, after giving them an attitude asking if they needed help as well. All of a sudden three employees were in the same section but still managed not to help anyone except talk to themselves, if they spoke to.customers they only told you how you shouldn't have the fish you were looking at in a tank with your current fish, a lot of their information was inaccurate. If you hate your job so much maybe you should use your negativity, use it and fuse it to get yourself a better one and not take it out on the people who help pay your checks. I hope the new one they open in Bellmore is better. read more

Pls do not go to this store for grooming. I went to get my dog groomed to this store today and had an appt. The lady at the grooming section showed me attitude the moment i walked in. Talking very rudely. I had all the vaccination papers and not sure if she wanted to act big, was arguing with me about the rabies vaccination. You are a groomer and you dont even know how to read the vaccination paper. The breeder had put his breed as maltese mix on the papers and she was arguing with me about his breed. What else to say. She is there to help but doesnt look likes she wants to help. Not sure why Petsmart keep people like this. I will never ever go to that store for grooming. Rudest of Rudest. read more

DO NOT go to the grooming section here!! I'm not one to write bad reviews at all but with this place it really pissed me off. I've been to Many petsmarts across NY and I've had nothing but great experiences, but the lady in the grooming section here had horrible customer service skill and really left me to wonder what happened while I was away waiting for my dog. My dog has been to the groomers dozens of times and every groomer afterwards have had nothing but great things to say about him. I forgot to mention my dog is an ESA so he's a very good boy, not to mention trained and he doesn't even bark. But today was my first time visiting this location, as soon as I walked in the people in the grooming section looked at my dog and I like another number and a road block from getting them off the clock. No smiles and I felt weird from the start. Like they all disliked their jobs. The lady took my info and took my dog back, no excitement or enthusiasm at all, didn't even try to interact with my dog. So when I came back to pick him up they Informed me that they couldn't get this teeth done because he was stressed out and "snipped" at her...... Wtf?? "Snipped"... Like I said before my dog is trained and has never EVER shown aggression towards ANYONE. I asked her what do you mean he snipped at you???? She said with ATTITUDE every dog has it's day and don't forget HE IS an ANIMAL!!! I was soooooooooooooo PISSED!!!! I told her that if he did do that she would have been the first, but I know my dog and he's around strangers all the time he doesn't snip at anyone. Plus he's not just an ANIMAL he's a part of my FAMILY, a FAMILY MEMBER. If you're a groomer at a Petsmart it's your job to be a pet lover! Why work there if you dislike animals or your job???!!? So I left to pay and came back with my receipt. While I was walking back to the grooming section they have windows you can see through. She was trying to put his lease on him and her facial expression said it all! She was not happy at all! She looked pissed, trying to corner my dog and shove the leash on him. She looked at me like oh your here. Like a deer in the head lights. I just took the leash and walked away. Once we got in the car I could tell my dog was really startled and was acting weird. I'll never come back here! Who knows what went on while I was away.. Sorry just had to vent and hopefully prevent this happening to your dog. read more

The grooming is ok, its definitely not the best. I think they rush it when booked to heavy. One of my dogs came out ok but really left alot of fur under feet between pads witch i streatched how important it was to get all of it. Then my other dog bairly looks like his body was shaved. I had shaved him myself a few weeks ago but couldn't do his legs (cuz he moves too much) and it looks as if they just did his legs n didnt touch up his bodt. I dont know if ill be going back there i think ill find someplace elsor maybe try a different groomer at petsmart since there are like 9. But well see read more

Worst experience I've ever had at a Petsmart grooming salon!! I received a phone call the day prior to my appointment, expecting a reminder of when to bring my dog in. The groomer informed me that she was overbooked and wanted me to come in 3 hours later instead. I had already planned my travels to come in at the planned arrival time so I explained I'm sorry but I won't be able to make it at a later time... BIG mistake!! I show up to my appointment early the next day. I dropped him off and expected a 2-3 hour wait time. So I left and ran the errands I needed to. I then receive a voicemail from the woman saying she can't groom my dog. My dog won't come out of the kennel he's barking, growling, and trying to bite everyone... Excuse me?!?! A 12-pound little dog is incapable of even being taken out of a kennel?! It's called sympathizing with the animals!!!! That's your job!!!! Say his name kindly, give him a treat. I'm sure he'll get out then. I feel like they knew he was needing a little more assistance than another dog because he is a shelter dog that they didn't even try.. I do know one thing though. Petsmart lost a continuing customer! My dog needs to be groomed every 3 months but I will no longer give Petsmart grooming anymore of my business!!! BEWARE! read more
