Best groomer in Nassau. Fair pricing & does a fabulous job on any breed. I will say any reviews older than 2024 are not for this shop. It was for a different shop with a different owner whos now going under. Victoria has 35+ years experience & I would trust her with any breed. I wouldn't bring my pup anywhere else. I brought my goldendoodle puppy here for his first grooming. For the first grooming, my puppy would only get a bath, nails trimmed, and hair trimmed to get him used to grooming. I dropped him off and picked him up about 3-4 hours later. He came out with more hair than when I dropped him off. I felt he got a blow out and not a trim. I was charged around $60 and his nails were either were not trimmed or not trimmed well because they were still sharp after I picked him up. I recently welcomed a new puppy into my life and our experience at Dog Gone Gorgeous was truly a nightmare. By far the worst experience I've ever encountered. I dropped my puppy off around 8:45am. The lady with black hair was strictly about business - there was no smile or friendly greeting. Just a cold attitude. She told me to call back at 1:00pm to check if my dog was done. Why do I, the customer, have to call back and check? Usually, the groomer calls the owner to tell them when to pick up their dog... When I went to pick up my puppy at 1:20pm, his haircut after tax was around $81. I wanted to pay with my credit card and the lady with light brown hair said it will be an additional 4% surcharge. Why was that not stated anywhere in the store, online or when I was on the phone with her? I've never experienced this before anywhere else. I then pointed out that one side was longer than the other. She was not happy that I complained and she then blamed it on my puppy's harness. Are you kidding me? She literally dragged my puppy to the backroom and my puppy was struggling and scared. My puppy is 9 months old - he's curious, LOVES everyone and nothing scared him until he went to Dog Gone Gorgeous. When I got in my car, I also saw that he had uneven shaving patterns on his body (picture provided). I did not want to go back in the store to tell them to fix it, I just wanted to take my puppy back home. My dog is like my son. For me, I only ask that dog groomers treat my dog with love and care - not as an object. Grooming should be a positive and fun experience. I understand Dog Gone Gorgeous is a business - but don't start a business if you're only in it for the money. Do you even like dogs? It sure doesn't seem like it. Next, be transparent about pricing. I called and asked about pricing and was told it would be around $65 - $75. What I was not told that there would be an additional 4% surcharge for CC. I've been to several dog groomers and I've never had to pay a 4% surcharge... I understand you are "busy" (I only saw 2 other dogs in the back...). Learn to hide your impatient pissed off face from your customers. Luckily, I'm not the type of person to make a scene - I rather just write a negative review online. Lastly, why do I have to wait 4 hours? The most I have ever waited was 2.5 hours. What are you doing with my dog for 4 hours when you're not even busy? My family and I have raised dogs for generations. We've always had a positive experience with our dog groomers. I should've trusted my gut and walked out of this place the moment I entered. read more

I brought my 14 year old Westie here for the first time today. It is only the fourth groomer he has visited over the years, and I was very concerned how he would fare as well as how he would behave. My concerns proved to be for naught as less than three hours after leaving him in the owner's arms and wishing her good luck (Codey has been known to nip in his old age), I had him back in my own arms sparkling clean and very handsome. Lauren promised him that she'd make it quick and painless and she did just that. Codey did not nip, which for me is his seal of approval. I went to, or I should say I brought my Titus to Dog Gone Gorgeous a few months ago, after he had found his way into a tray full of motor oil left on a table in the garage. Now you're probably wondering how a dog managed to get into a tray on a table...what I failed to mention is that Titus is a cat. A very large, clumsy, and bumbling cat, that acts like a dog, because his humans are life long dog owners, and they really don't know of any other way to raise a small animal (and it's quiet understandable since 9 months out of the year he outweighs most terriers). Anyhoo, back to the reason why I'm giving this review. Titis decided to do this the same week his regular groomer was out on vacation, which put me in a bind. Do I sit back and wait for the groomer to return? Will Titus be able to clean himself off? Do I try to give him a bath myself? (I only thought of that last option for a moment. Although I've only been a cat's human for a short period of time, I have more than enough faded scars and scratches to serve as reminders of why cats and water don't mix.) Rather than putting myself at risk of needing a blood transfusion in the eminent future, I decided to look for a temporary groomer. After asking around, someone suggested trying out DGG, since they knew the owner had experience with all types of animals (and I would find out later that she's also a fellow cat's human). So I called up the shop and explained my situation to the owner. Although they don't normally take cats, she was willing to take Titus because I promised that he was too overweight and lethargic to be that much of a jerk. Within a few hours Titus was back to being clean as a button. Trimmed nails, nice shiny coat, a scent of strawberries, the whole 9. I have had my fur baby, Reese groomed many times, most often at Petco which has recently closed. I had heard very positive things about this grooming salon so I thought I'd give them a try. I am so happy I did! My pup has never looked or smelled so wonderful after a grooming as he did when I picked him up today. These ladies could not have treated my boy with more kindness and caring. He tends to be very frightened and they took extra special care of him by keeping him close by them, talking to him, just comforting him during his time there today. They didn't blow dry him because the sound of the dryer scared him so they let him air dry, brushed him out and he looks amazing. I highly recommend these wonderful groomers. My dog had the best haircut ever. He is a rescue dog, who is generally nervous, and seemed to have a good experience. The staff was very nice. There is a safe drop off procedure in place. They do take a long time to do a haircut. 4-5 hours! But the results were awesome. They won't quote you a price on the phone. A medium priced dog was $120. A bit more than I expected to pay.
