Extremely Unprofessional & Judgmental Experience I have been bringing my dogs to my amazing groomers for over 12-15 years and have always had a wonderful experience. My Papillon, is 17 years old, and my Pomeranian, is 15. They are both senior dogs who have always been well cared for and loved wherever they go. Because my regular groomer was unavailable, I decided to try Cold Noses Dog Grooming for a last-minute appointment. I spoke with Kim, who gave me a 9:00 a.m. slot. I walked my dogs over since it's close to my home, expecting a simple, friendly experience. Unfortunately, what I got was anything but. From the moment I arrived, Kim's tone and demeanor were rude, judgmental, and invasive. She questioned me about where I normally take my dogs, why I wasn't going there anymore, and even asked if my regular groomer had refused to groom them because they're "too old." When I explained that my regular place was simply booked, she continued pressing with unnecessary and uncomfortable questions -- including demanding to know the name of my groomer. When I said I didn't feel comfortable sharing that information, she became defensive and said she "had the right to ask questions." I told her she could, but I also had the right not to answer. Instead of focusing on grooming my dogs, she made me feel accused and unwelcome. At that point, I decided to take my dogs and leave. I took a day off work for this appointment and left feeling angry, disappointed, and disrespected. There was no professionalism, no compassion, and absolutely no bedside manner. I have never been treated so poorly or made to feel like my senior dogs were a "problem." To anyone with dogs-- avoid this place at all costs. The way I was spoken to and treated felt like age discrimination -- for both dogs and owner alike. I wouldn't trust this groomer with any animal, especially one that needs gentle, understanding care. Thanks for the service, she took care of me when I was stuck... my back hurt so I finally let someone else take care of them. My puppies I have gotten someone I seem to trust enough to do it. Shampoo was a pleasant smell and the thin cut I wanted was better than I could do. Today was our first time trying cold noses for our shih tzu Sammy who is 2 years old. We could not get an appointment with our usually groomer ... So cold noses was recommended to us by our neighbor ... We couldn't be happier with this groomer!!!! Our dog look absolutely beautiful when we picked her up!!! Her hair is so evenly cut, she smells amazing and her eyes are so clean! Her nails where cut perfectly! Brought in my large dog the other day. The groomer is very quick and very good at what she does, but the customer service is horrendous. She is extremely rude and not nice at all. That being said, if you don't mind getting talked down to and receiving an attitude from the establishment where you decide to bring your business, this is a pretty solid option. If I could give it a 0 I would. The groomer is very rude. Brought my puppy here, 1 1/2 years, after I use to bring my old dog here. The reason I actually have not come here with my new dog is because the last appointment I made with my old dog there, they forgot to call me to tell me they moved (I made the appointment right before they moved) so I went to the establishment and it was closed, no notice of new place and they didn't even call me when I did not show up! But anyway, I decided to give it another try because they never did a bad job. Well I was told to simply come in one hour and she will be done, okay that is perfect. I returned in one hour to only find a surprise... THEY DID NOT CUT MY DOGS HAIR! The groomer had the nerve to tell me my dog was harmful/a danger to herself and will get herself killed, she was too scared to go to her with scissors... YOU ARE A GROOMER AND SHE IS 13 POUNDS! Come on already, that is ridiculous. What is worse, they did not have the decency to call me to tell me they were not going to be able to groom her, I had to arrive to the surprise. The groomer decided to take it upon herself to bath her and charge me $25.00 for a bath... I could have bathed her at home for free. If the groomer called me, I would have picked up my puppy and went elsewhere, what a CROOK! read more

i am very upset i took my dogie here today and he came home with a red wee-wee i think he got cut by accident and i didn't even get a refund.... on top of that she didn't let me know .... so now i have to call the vet to see if he needs some cream or lotion....this is unacceptable i will never bring my baby here ever again.... Awesome place!!!! It was my first time using them and I couldn't be more happy. I called in the morning and she took me that day even though it was my first time there. I have a 5 pound yorkie that never had a haircut before and she needed one bad. I'm a nervous wreck with my dog and she made me very comfortable right from the start. She told me a time to come in and took my dog right away and said it would be no more then an hour and a half, and she called me an hour later saying she was done. My dog looked BEAUTIFUL is all I can say. The haircut was awesome her nails were cut nice and my dog looked happy. The place is VERY CLEAN no dog smell at all like so many other places. I will be a life Long customer from now on and will be bringing my other dog when she needs it. read more

My family's been bringing our dogs here since our first dog, Cashew, was a puppy, 23 years ago. Now, we bring Sadie there. Kim gives the best cuts, hands down. When my groomer didn't answer her phone this morning I decided to go on Yelp to find another groomer. I am big on relying on the reviews here on Yelp. So with all the great reviews about Kim @ Cold Noses I decided to give her a call. I got her voicemail and she returned my call fairly promptly. I asked if I could bring my dog in for grooming and she said yes asked if I've ever been there and I said no. She gave me a time and I was a little late. Upon entering her establishment I didn't get a "hello" instead I got a nasty " you're 20 mins late and there's another dog ahead of you now" I was like ok I'm very sorry. Then she said "it's going to be an hour" I was like that's fine. She takes my dog and no hello to the dog and dragging her in as my dog was scared with her tail between her legs. I said do you know which dog this is? She was like " yeah". I left and didn't get a good feeling. My friend said turn around and go get her which I did. I asked to have her back she just handed her to me. I don't care how great a groomer she is she has a horrible personality and the way she took it out on my dog because I was late was just not right especially that I'm a first time customer. This place is great! I hate dropping my dog at a groomer at 10 am and not being called to pick him up until 4! My dog was kept in a crate all those hours and was very frightened when he came home the last time from his usual groomer. Cold noses is quiet so your dog wont get stressed out and my pup was ready in an hour and ten minutes. She only books 1-2 dogs so its not like a kennel when you walk in. She did a really great job and it was for a good price! read more

Please do not bring your dogs here, especially if you expect the groomer to be nice and comforting to a dog that is nervous about grooming. I live in the area and decided to drop in for a nail trim for the first time. My dog usually cries and whimpers throughout the ordeal. When I arrived, I explained this to the groomer and asked if I could hold her while she trimmed her nails. She said I was not allowed in the back, which I understand. She takes my dog out of sight and as she started cutting the nails my dog starts whimpering and crying and finally starts full out "screaming." I have never heard her scream so intensely. I guess because she was so scared she also started urinating. All throughout this process there is not one word of comfort from the groomer. Instead, she is super annoyed and starts muttering about the pee everywhere and proceeds to tell my dog in a very cold voice to calm down. There was a very young girl there who must have been her daughter and she snapped at her to get a towel. 5 more seconds of this and I called back to her to stop. She had only cut 2 nails so far but I didn't care. She brings my dog back to me holding her out in front of her at arms length and the first words out of her mouth are, "she's getting pee everywhere." The only good part of this visit is that she didn't charge me anything. ( I hope you can tell I'm being sarcastic) I wish my dog was better about getting nail trims. I wish she didn't pee when she was nervous. But you know what? Many if not most dogs are nervous at the groomers and if faced with a situation like that, I would hope that a professional groomer would at least have the heart to comfort the dog. Dogs are so sensitive to our moods and demeanor. I shudder to think of what would have happened if I had just dropped my dog off and left her alone with her. If you think of your pet as one of your children, please do not bring them here. The groomer is rude and heartless and does not deserve to be running this business. read more

Cold Noses is a good place to bring your pet if you want to be treated in a rude manner by the owner. Good luck trying to even get someone to answer the phone. When you finally are able to get your appt, via a brief, abrupt rude call back from the owner, be prepared to be greeted by a silent , annoyed owner. She looks at your dog like he or she is an alien, especially if the pet is god forbid matted. If there are matts expect to see your dog shaved when you get back. No thank you for coming, no smile, no nothing. A cold cold establishment ..I understand now why the place is called COLD noses. RUDE RUDE RUDE will not go back read more
