The bartenders were very attentive and the drinks were well made. The music hall section of Halligan's has a separate bar which is convenient, but no seats at that bar. You have to either stand all night or sit at a large round table. If you're with a large group, it works well, but if you're alone or with 1 or 2 others, it can be awkward sitting with others you don't know.

Its history and upkeep would alone be something to write home about, but the grounds are lovely - particularly about 200 feet behind the home, where it is, as Frost said, "lovely, dark and deep" - and this place has some history! Many famous American orators of the 19th century came through the Asa Waters Mansion including Thoreau, Emerson and Gough. It is a must-visit location in Millbury. They also have a really nice, little gift shop!
