We had a great time in Millbury and this historic house was a wonderful site to visit. Its history and upkeep would alone be something to write home about, but the grounds are lovely - particularly about 200 feet behind the home, where it is, as Frost said, "lovely, dark and deep" - and this place has some history! Many famous American orators of the 19th century came through the Asa Waters Mansion including Thoreau, Emerson and Gough. It is a must-visit location in Millbury. They also have a really nice, little gift shop!

For food, they offer seafood raw bar selections, caviar, tinned fish, dips & pita chips, salumi, fromage, cheesesteak, focaccia, and desserts. The pricing is on the higher end. After my buddy raved about VUE for the ambience, food, drink and nice views of Worcester, I decided to check the place out for myself. I made an online reservation and headed over around 7:15 pm on a Saturday night. I headed inside the tall glass building and took the elevator up to the 24th floor. Once there, I checked in and headed for an open high top table near the full service cocktail bar and in front of the live jazz band, overlooking the sunsetting sky and Worcester views from the glass windows. This place definitely has that chill vibe of Worcester's "Top of the Hub" if y'all familiar with the former restaurant & bar on the top level of the Pru in Boston. One of the bartenders was my server. I already knew what I wanted and ordered the Bastirma Salumi Plate ($15 plus tax) and Carrot Lentil Dip ($13 plus tax) and a glass of still water. My food came out 20 minutes later, Bastirma plate first, followed by the Carrot Lentil Dip plate. The Bastirma small plate had 3 thick soft slices of focaccia bread, thin sliced dried beef sirloin, Türkiye, giardiniera, pickled veggies, dijon mustard, and 2 stuffed grape leaves. The Carrot Lentil Dip plate was huge which had a bowl of chilled pureed carrot Lentil dip with fresh garlic, waffle potato chips, thin pita crisps, red peppers, orange peppers, yellow peppers, celery sticks, carrot sticks, cucumber sticks.. I barely finished everything myself and did not save room for dessert and got the check which was $29.96 with tax and before tip. Overall, both cold plates I ordered were pretty good and very filling. I was enjoying the relaxed vibe here. The live jazz music band and great nighttime views of Worcester makes the VUE a very special place to visit for food and drinks. My buddy was also here with coworkers last weekend and they enjoyed the cocktails, several cold plates of tasty food, and plenty of raw oysters.

It was built during the Roaring Twenties and its magnificence sure reminded me of the mansions I've seen in Newport, RI. There is a grand foyer at the main entrance where you'll see a gorgeous chandelier hanging from the ceiling. There is Italian marble flooring, oak and mahogany wood trim everywhere, artwork on the walls and on the furniture, a music room with a piano, and six bedrooms, There are gardens, a reflecting pool, even a gazebo, so the photo opportunities are endless. We started with a cocktail hour under a tent and enjoyed fruit and crudities and then passed hors d'oeuvres, such as Caprese skewers, goat cheese and honey filled strawberries, shrimp and more. The cocktail hour continued as we moved inside and even more hors d'oeuvres came parading out of the kitchen. Dinner was served in the Fountain View Room - its big enough to hold 275 guests in a sit-down dinner and their dance floor is 750 square feet big! The food was excellent, and so was the ice cream bar that offered every known accompaniment under the sun. On our wedding day they really tended to our every need. This venue really goes above and beyond. They offer so much more than other venues. When booking your wedding you also have the option to rent out rooms at the estate. The estate also has a bridal party hair and makeup house (called the rose cottage). At the estate it is set up with a grooms man wing and a bridal wing with the Spanish room meeting at the center. So you and your bridesmaids get ready at the rose cottage and then head over to the garden room in the bridal wing. This room has glass windows that can overlook when your guests arrive for your ceremony. I love it! Jasmine allowed us an early checking for hair and makeup at the rose cottage and from the second we arrived she was on it! Bringing up fruit plates and wine/champagne (which you order in advance but it is reasonable). This alone was so nice. No need to get ready at a hotel and shuttle the wedding party over. I brought quite a bit of decorations and the Harding Allen Estate team did a fantastic job at setting this all up, this included my own plates and cups which they washed and repackage. I was shocked to find all my decorations were wrapped the exact way I brought them. There was so much attention to detail. We also had a few food allergies and they were able to accommodate for both the wedding and the rehearsal dinner, and it was delicious! We used the in house catering because we had a smaller wedding. This is truly a family run establishment, some of the people on staff who weren't related to Jasmine and Suzy were also related. It truly felt like a family, the staff was so kind and respectful. For the wedding we used DJ fusion who has done many weddings at the Estate and he did a great job. For photographer we used Amanda Adams Photography (the pictures attached to this review are screen shots from our wedding video, just a family member with a camera. Amanda shot one of them which is pretty easy to tell which one). Jasmine does a fantastic job and two weeks before your wedding you're really a priority for her and she does respond pretty quickly but if its prior to 2 weeks before your wedding you may have to wait for a response. Honestly getting married at the Harding Allen Estate was the best decision we made. It was such a dream. I think this is going to be one of the top wedding venues in New England, especially with all the extras you get (bridal hair and makeup area, after party for you and the guests staying at the venue, vintage car, beautiful separate cocktail, ceremony and reception areas, the gardens, the breakfast the next morning). After buying some plants from the kind vendor. We explore the fairy garden which had various installations with fairy houses which must be beautiful at night too. We walked over to the shade garden which was a quiet place to visit on a busy Saturday. **we had visited two weeks before and there was some water main break and could not enter.
