Getting there around 8AM, they weren't very busy. Tried their cinnamon roll, honey chicken w/egg biscuit, and their breakfast potatoes. Unfortunately, they only serve Starbucks coffee, which is far from a fav of mine, but it can be tolerable (it's usually too "burnt" and bitter tasting)... In this instance, it was actually decent. The food took about 10 minutes to prepare and came out piping hot. The cinnamon roll was room temperature, as it came from the display case and it was excellent! Lots of great flavor and it resembled croissant dough - Not sure if that's what they use to make it, but it's amazing! The biscuit was nice, but crumbled too easy... fortunately due to the size, I decided to use fork & knife to eat it, so the biscuit's inability to hold everything together didn't matter to me. The flavors were great! Definitely very nicely done. Those breakfast potatoes were VERY tasty - yum!!! Service was very nice... the clerk who took our order was friendly and helpful.

Nice bagel shop located in Del Ray district of Alexandria. This business is tucked away in a nook…read moreof Mt Vernon Ave and is not as obvious as other street side businesses. They offer a large assortment of fresh made bagels, a large assortment of cream cheese varietals/spreads along with their fresh house made coffee. All of which are quite tasty. Aside from the bagels they also offer a large assortment of bagel sandwiches. This is a counter order operation with no inside dining available. Uncovered outside picnic tables are available if you want to enjoy your food on the premises which we did on this glorious spring day. Relative to staff they are super friendly and efficient in getting the food out which is important as this business is quite popular on Weekend mornings in particular. Overall if you like fresh bagels than this business should be right up your alley.

Excellent bagels and a friendly staff…read more Orders are prepared quickly. Bagel Uprising has a couple of downsides that could easily be remedied. First, the website doesn't allow you to look at the menu directly. You have to go thru the pretense of creating an order, with pickup date/time required before you can view the menu. And at the restaurant, the menu is on the exterior of the front door, so you need to memorize what you are going to order before going inside. I ordered the Del-Rachel (AKA Turkey Reuben). This was a delicious bagel sandwich. It's comprised of turkey, Swiss cheese, coleslaw and a special sauce. The Del-Rachel comes with some fabulous kettle chips and a pickle. I was able to request a sesame bagel for the sandwich. I wasn't down completely with the idea of coleslaw on a bagel, but they let me have the coleslaw on the side. What they call a creamy caraway coleslaw was actually tasty. In the end, my Del-Rachel was great and I will definitely be back. It may be a little difficult to find Bagel Uprising because it is set back from Mt. Vernon Ave and sandwiched between two other businesses. Also, note that although there is no indoor seating, there's plenty of picnic tables out front.

My food was a little cold, but to be fair, I did eat my toast first. The sauce in the small cup was cold as well; I think it would've been even better served warm. The food does take a little while to come out, so if you're really hungry, just be prepared for a bit of a wait. I would definitely come back for the coffee! The food wasn't bad, just not exactly my cup of tea .

While the…read morecafe itself is small and cute, the experience was a bit of a mixed bag. The Service: When we walked in, we stood at the host stand for a while without being acknowledged. Eventually, we just walked up to the cashier. Since it was our first time, we were clearly a bit lost, but there was no "hello" or "welcome" the cashier just handed us menus and told us to order at the counter. The lack of communication made the atmosphere feel a bit unwelcoming. The Price & Value: The bad part of the experience was the checkout process. The lowest tip option on the screen was 25%, with the highest being 32%. For a place where you order at the counter and receive minimal service, that felt very steep. I ordered the Barrio Breakfast and an horchata, though I was confused as to why I was charged for a more expensive "iced horchata latte" instead. My boyfriend got a bacon, egg, and cheese on white bread and a bottled Coke. Our total came out to nearly $60. The Food: To be fair, the food was actually very tasty and we had no complaints about the quality. However, in this economy, it's hard to justify the price for what is essentially a meal you could make at home for a fraction of the cost. Overall: It's worth trying once if you're curious, but because of the high prices and the awkward service, I don't think we'll be regulars. I only took a photo of my horchata since I forgot to take a photo of the meal.

Well, last time we were here service was bad, we were going to give it one more try after a couple of months, The service used to be good... Don't know what happened. She said let me go get one and never came back a bit 10 minutes we see her come from the back and start packing up a to go order, maybe if the earbud was taken out of our ear we might've been able to concentrate on our job... I was in a meeting and did not have time to addressed the matter at that time so I called back to talk to the manager about my experience. He told the waitress that he did not have time for me.
