Some guy exposed a testicle here the other day in order to "impress" the bartender. He then initiated a conversation with me about what he likes to do to the female anal cavity. Just before I left, he had his shirt off and he was aggressively yelling "You think you are better than me"! I don't know why, but people seem to get really wasted here. I like it because it is more entertaining than watching baseball (I don't know how people watch that crap). I have always enjoyed watching someone make an ass out of themselves and the pit seems to attract these folks. The pit is pretty small, kind of dirty, and decaying. It is a dive in every sense of the word. There is not much mystery to this place other than trying to predict which drunk will flash a ball first. What is unique about the pit is that they have a ping pong table and beer fest style games every few months or so. They also have a kitchen here but I have yet to eat anything. You will already know if you like this place. I like it because the drinks are cheap and the local drunks are pretty entertaining. With enough practice and dedication I hope to one day be one of those drunks stumbling around with a nut unabashedly swaying to and fro. read more

This place kicks ass! I went there one night with co-workers and had a great time. Cherry Pit has a bunch of pool tables AND a ping pong table. I am a ping pong FANATIC so I was very excited to play some ping pong while drinking my beer. It's not too crowded (or at least wasn't on a Thursday night when I went). The staff was great because they let us order a pizza and have it delivered to the bar. Yes, a delivery pizza to the bar. They even threw out our pizza trash when we were finished. The only problem (which really isn't all that big) was that the music was SUPER loud and it was impossible to hear the person sitting right next to you if you wanted to say anything. The drinks taste TERRIBLE I asked for a white Russian and got a glass of straight vodka with a splash of kahlua and milk, it was still see through, tasted light rubbing alcohol. I'm sure this place would be great for broke college students trying to drink for cheap and get messed up quick but not for anyone who knows what real mix drinks are supposed to taste like. Also I've been here a handful of times and there is a big chalkboard food menu on the wall but every time I've asked to order anything they tell me the kitchen is closed. I have to give this place 4 stars. It's called the Cherry Pit, i.e., a dive bar. For a dive bar, it gets 4 stars. My girlfriend and I (way too overdressed for this place) stopped in for a shot around midnight on a Friday night. The place was packed and had about a 20-1 ratio of dudes to gals (total sausage party). The usual dive bar crowd was getting drunk and having a good time. If I hadn't been wearing heels, I might have stayed for more than one drink. This place is a people watcher's dream! Ah, the pit how I love you so. I gotta be honest with you, this place is the dive to end all dives, and that's a good thing. I'm surprised by some of the reviews I've read about the pit. Yes, it is decaying in some ways.Yes, people occasionally show a testicle or two. Those things add to the charm. Seriously though, the drinks are cheap. The service is great, even if the bartender bust your chops for nursing your drink. 2 pool tables, and beer pong. How many bars have beer pong? I only know of one. The Cherry Pit has a lot of regulars, so the atmosphere is pretty chill and familiar. This is the dive bar to end all dive bars. It's small, the decor is outdated, and it reeks of Cougars... but hey, what dumpy lil' dive bar doesn't. I've had friends have bad experiences here, so I was somewhat apprehensive about going; but a friend of mine had just gotten of work down the street and wanted to meet up for a drink. So who would I be not to oblige. The place was empty, the service was ok, and the beer was cold. That's all I needed. I went with some co-workers after work on a Friday afternoon. My first thought was "DUDE I can smell the beer and I'm 10 feet away from the door"... THEN I walk inside...and it's a freaking party at 4:30 in the afternoon inside this place. I think "this should be a good sign"... Nope, I was wrong. It's not good when everyone is a man that's at the bar and little ole me walks in... I didn't feel like I "fit" in. But hey this is where the co-workers wanted to go, it's not like I could just leave now. There was a table that had no one sitting at it and a full beer just sitting there. And like I said, this place was packed. I took it upon myself to move the beer to the bar and sat myself down, waiting for the coworkers to arrive. I was a bit fearful that I might create a bar fight by moving a beer. Luckily no one ever said anything. They only have a few beers on tap and they were out of new castle. They do have back up beer in bottles, which is nice. I just would assume that by Friday afternoon all of the taps would be full and ready for the night. But hey, maybe that's just me? Also, if you don't like country music you may want to avoid this place. Lots of country is played here. read more

To get it outta the way, this place has always been a dive. If you like dives, you know there are some you love and some you hate and it usually has to do with the crowd. I have never known the Cherry Pit to be a place where people come to have A drink or two. People come here knowing they can get effed up and rowdy, start fights, play TERRIBLE music on the jukebox all night, and drive home drunk. If that's what you're into, here ya go. If you are a freshly spanked 21 year old (or you still act like one), you will probably have no problem with the crowd here. The drinks have always been good, poured with a heavy hand by a bartender who's used to the crowd. There is no doubt that I will be seen in this place again because I have friends who like it , I will dress extra trashy that night and pretend I'd rather be there than drinking on the porch with my friends (which is just as trashy and costs less) read more

Reading the reviews as we drove to this Bar made my husband ask me if I really wanted to go there! However we were on our way from supercross and The Cherry Pit was the only bar nearby that was open. As we walked it the friendly barlady Tiana greeted us immediately and told us she would be with us in a second or two - which she was! Bud draft on tap in great glass beer mugs for $5 and a friendly environment. Tiana told us that a new modem had been installed the previous day but she still had to get hold of the password for the wifi users. The ladies restroom was clean and my husband was fascinated when he went to the gents room that there was some character drinking and peeing at the same time!! As an overview this is a great little neighborhood bar made even better by Tiana who is both friendly efficient and chatty! If I lived in this area I'd drink here on a regular basis! read more

I love this place! I went on Friday night and couldn't have been happier. the bartender's were really nice.( they let my friend stay even though she didn't have her Id... i know seriously who doesn't bring their ID to a bar...explanation: we were doing something else when we got a call to meet some people there... hence she didn't bother to bring her ID) i digress... i also like that it wasn't as crowded as most bars on a Friday night. just enough people to have as good time. the one thing that was kinda annoying was that i felt like i was being attacked by stools all night(no not poop, the kind you sit on) around the two little tables all of us we're at i swear there was like 20 stools( not even around the tables just spread out all over the place) i swear you had to play frogger with the stools just to get anywhere. it's kinda the place you want to stand up. no need for so many places to sit. nonetheless it's a great place to just go with some friends and hang out. read more

We spend every weekend at The Pit and after many months we have learned that there are many amazing regulars there! If you walk in and act like an ass then of course you had a bad time. Went there when it was something else before the cherry pit. It was a nice escape from work down the street at the big whole Home Depot. After work a buddy and I would stop by get a few pitchers and relax. The bartenders were great company and friendly. Now it just seems like it's a buncha people sitting around singing sublime.
