I've been going here for a few months rather faithfully and (because I've worked for tips before) I always try to tip well. Never had to return for a fix on a nail in my memory....got my nails done 4 days ago and had the nail fairly pop off ...they charged for the fix..grr..OK..fine.... This is also my second time getting lashes and the last set was almost a war zone to get off, but I was happy they were so sturdy. This second go they had a younger tech install them and they definitely did not look as good as the first time I had them done...Fine, different styles, I'll live....I wasn't so fine with it when they started falling out. I was also charged today for that "fix" ....even though its only been a few days! Its frustrating that they didnt take recognition that I had JUST been there for the installation and perhaps the fallout was because it was a poor one. Customer loyalty is number one to me in my own business and for business that I am a patron of and I'm more than a little pissed off and definitely disappointed. Not planning to return anytime soon. I thought I had my final salon that I'd be going to for years to come....Guess not :/. Otherwise, the guy who does designs is excellent. So let me start off with their Covid-19 procedures are not safe at all. People are not 6ft apart. There are say too many people in there for it to be safe. On top of them taking multiple appointments at a time when there is not enough space and everyone is busy. I went there on Saturday and I didn't want to be rude when i got my nails done but they were not to my liking. They were already lifting and had multiple air bubbles. My toe nails were not even straight. I still tip whether I like my nails or not because idk how much these people get paid and im not that type of person. But this has been by far my worst experience EVER. By Monday my nails were falling off, I wasn't even feeling them come off. I called for a refund and was told that they don't give refunds that the owner Judy will fix them. But they were so bad she would have to start over... Her response was "I will have to decide when I see your nails". Ok no problem. So I tried to schedule an appointment for 5:30 but she had someone and told me to come at 6. I thought it was a little off that she would only take 30 minutes on someone nails. So the day of my appointment comes and I was running 15 minutes late because I work with kids on the autism spectrum and it was just one of those days. She told me she cannot take me because she had someone else at 6:30. AGAIN I don't understand how she thought she was going to fix my nails in 30 minutes without seeing them. I asked her to remove them and she ended up trimming them down which was to say the least a very stressful process since I was afraid my own lashes are also getting trimmed.. the pedicure is great but doesn't feel clean.. old, fainted washed up towels.. very poor selection of Dried up nail polishes.. over all I will not come back unless I bring my own towels to get a pedicure Three weeks later I went to get those lashes removed as she kept claiming she can't give the solution out!!! Here is why!!! She didn't use any solution! She damped my lashes with hot water and literally pulled the fake ones out with tweezers!!! I am left with NO lashes! Here is an outstanding example of how you get what you pay for. I wanted eyelash extensions for my wedding and wanted to test them out first. Cherry is one of the only places in the area who listed their prices for eyelash extentions online and seemed reasonable. Most salons are charging in excess of $100. Cherry was $30. The room where they do the lashes, waxing, etc was really gross. Dirty, small, with two places for people to lay down to get treatments. The process of putting on the lashes was relatively painless and the final result was not really what I was going for. The amount of glue used to affix them make them all clumpy and I decided this was probably not the way to go for my wedding. But I figured I would live with it for a couple of weeks until they started to fall out. The lashes started falling out a couple of days ago (about 10 days after the application). Today I decided they all needed to be removed because they were starting to look pretty silly. That's when the fun started. It took me over an hour of agony to pry the lashes off my face and in the process managed to remove more than 1/2 of my existing lashes. There was SO MUCH GLUE that you couldn't even remove one lash at a time. They were all stuck to each other so you had to loosen them up all together and then try to scrape them off gently without pulling out the natural lashes. This does not work at all. So my opinion is this. If you are looking for lash extensions bite the bullet and go to the fancy salon and pay the money for the good ones. Save yourself the agony of cheap, poorly applied lashes. read more

Although yea they looked cute I had major irritation due to an excessive use of glue. She couldn't even tell me the brand of her glue when I called back to ask! Like I said nails were great. This was my second time going back to Cherry Nails and I will never go back there again even if someone wanted to pay for it! In terms of the technicians it's a crap shoot, which is why I gave it two stars. The first time I had a decent technician but my daughter did not. Her pedicure was peeling within a few days. It has been a couple of months and I thought I'd give them another try, I went in today for a mani/pedi. They had a wait so when I was finally told to go to the back for my pedi, imagine my surprise to discover the same person that gave my daughter her mani-pedi was running water for me. I should have just turned around and walked out, live and learn. In any event I stayed, before he was finished the first foot I knew I was not going to allow him to give me a manicure. It would have been time and and money I never got back. He does not know how to cut, shape or file nails evenly. I could have done this at home and it would not have cost me a cent. That was a colossal waste of $25.00. In addition to taking personal calls during my pedicure, did I mention the sister (Phoung) and brother like talking and giggling about customers! I am a very generous person, I did not even give him a tip. Well, I guess you really do get what you pay for!! Urgh..... Do yourself a favor avoid this place like the plague! Cherry Nails used to be a weekly stop for me when I was a student at Holy Cross and went to the other side of Worcester to WPI. I absolutely adore Cherry Nails and that feeling still rings true 3.5 years after my last visit there when I went for a gel manicure. First of all, they have expanded their space so it is roomier and have added more employees. Secondly, the owner somehow still remembered my name and what I used to always get when I was an undergrad-- pink and white nails. Thirdly, they give you a parafin wax treatment as a free part of your manicure which is unheard of! The folks at Cherry Nails do a darn good job and you will leave satisfied and with a smile on your face. Not only are they kind, but they are fast, efficient and excellent! read more

Young guy didn't know how to do powder dip. They put your hands in a bowl of hot acetone instead of using foils which made the polish soak off into a sticky slime that was all over my hands. I wasn't asked if I wanted a manicure done in addition to the powder dip. Color wasn't extended out to the sides of the nails leaving raw nail exposed which puts the nail at risk of breaking/splitting. Young guy put my hands under the air dryer which you don't do for powder dips. It caused the top coat to disintegrate into a smeared looking mess which they had to fix by putting a clear gel coat overtop and use the led light to seal. Edges of nails are rough and needed smoothing. He even left excess product all over my skin without realizing it needed to be removed. One of the worst nail jobs I've ever had done!! read more

This was my first time at Cherry (or any Worcester nail salon). I was really close by since I go to Becker, but I called first to see if they took AMEX (which they do, yay) and asked about availability for a pink & white fill which they had. Lee was my nail tech, and she did a very nice job. Not chatty with me at all, but I don't care about that. She was nice, and thorough while working. Pretty gentle with her drills which is the kind of tech I need. I usually like the whites to be a bit thinner with more nail bed, and I like the smile lines to be a bit more curved, BUT she did ask me after the first white she sculpted on my pinky, and I said ok. It's just hard to tell with the tiniest finger, but I know for next time. It's nothing fancy here, just your typical small but cozy Vietnamese nail spot. The atmosphere is super casual where the techs chat with each other in Vietnamese & answer their phones, so if you're looking for a Day Spa feel, you probably won't be happy here. My fills cost $35 (not sure what regular price is, but I had 6 weeks of growth with 2 half-lifted nails), and I was able to leave tip on the card. Had acrylic nails put on followed by gel polish 3 weeks ago. I also received a pedicure with polish the same day. I took the polish off my toes as it was starting to fade, and also noticed that my left big toenail was starting to lift. After removing the polish I found that the entire nail had lifted and was moldy. I then went to another establishment to have the acrylic fingernails taken off and found there to be mold under all of my fingernails as well! I went to the dr about my toenail, where the majority of the nail that had rotted was removed and was given an antibiotic cream, and was told the nail may not ever grow back properly. I simply went to the salon to explain what had happened, showed proof that that services were done there and all I asked for was a refund. I tried to talk privately so that the current customers in the store did not hear and resolve the issue peacefully. The 3 staff members that came to speak to me immediately became defensive. Saying "well we don't t know what happened" as I was showing them my mold ridden nails and offered to pay me 1/2 of a refund of 34$! Mind you I may have permanently lost a toenail! I was also told that I "should have come back right away when the mold started not 3 weeks later when I had to point out that I had no way of knowing until the nail started to life as there was polish over them all! He said that if I came back in 2 months and the nail still did not grow back he would issue the rest of the refund!!!????? At the end they did not even give me the half they offered but said they would have the owner call me back in a WEEK to discuss?! As a business owner I would have done anything and everything to make the situation right then and there, not give the customer an attitude and go back on resolution. So I go to the school up the block from here (cough the one on the hill) and if there's any other lady checking this review out, don't worry: it's legit. :) I was a bit hesitant to come into Cherry, even though I'd seen the husband of the owner (or co-owner?) on multiple occasions at my job (my co-worker told me he worked here). But I need a place to get my girls done. The distance is great, and although it's not quite the $20 mani-pedi I'm used to in the BX, it will do. It is awesome! I've done regular paints, french manicures, and gel manicures here. I've done them on a regular Tuesday afternoon before a big presentation, and on a Sunday with a steady flow of customers. They're honest (french mani's DON'T last for long and they knew I'd be back). They know what they're doing, which was critical for the gels. And, as I've seen their connections with regulars, they are very down-to-earth. They even talk about how they like to change the furniture around-- and they have. lol. Stop by! read more

They were very busy and short staffed so I did feel a bit rushed and I did not like how they did painted my fingernails while I was getting my pedicure- but they did such an amazing job that it made up for it. If you have time to spare, they give an EXCELENT spa pedicure (inexpensive too, $25 for regular pedi, $35 for the spa!). Paraffin, hot stone massage, exfoliating scrub the works. Place is very small and rather homely, but the staff are very friendly (been twice) and are attentive. Spent a good deal of time on my pedicure (70-ish minutes if I my approximation is correct) and did a really great job! Was nice and relaxing- just what I was looking for at the time. read more

All in all my experience was just ok. The first thing that surprised me about this place was the run down appearance of the salon. All of the equipment and furniture looked like it was at least ten years old and I was surprised at how dirty the place felt. I'm not sure if it was just old or if it really could have used a good scrub down. Even the nail polishes looked really old, many with no labels or so old they had separated in the jar--just not at all aesthetically pleasing. The service was better than the appearance of the salon. I got the basic pedicure and was happy with how the nail tech did my nails for the most part. There was a lot included in the basic pedicure such as hot stone massage and a leg scrub. At the end I noticed there was a fair amount of nail polish on my skin. All in all, I will not be going back. There are better salons for the same price. read more

I had the BEST experience here. I walked in with my friend around 5pm for mani pedis and they took us immediately. My technicians name was Ti and he gave me the most professional, clean, friendly service I have ever had. He spent so much time doing the cuticles on my toes, making sure everything was perfect for me. My favorite part was when he put the hot stones on me and massaged my legs with his fists. I was literally laughing with the workers the entire time, they were so funny! Usually when I get my nails done I bring an I pod because I sit there is silence the whole time while the nail person talks to her coworkers. Not at Cherry Nails! The staff was HILARIOUS! Plus one of the guys doing my nails did the Patriots logo on my nails (for the Super Bowl) and it looks awesome! They also did a paraffin hand wax at no extra charge. They cut our feet too as they were careless In giving us the pedicures. My friend finished first and they asked her to move and wait up front... I tried this place out because one of my friends had recently tried this salon and said it was awesome! Plus it being 5 minutes from my house I figured why not! The first time I came here I was with a friend, she was getting a full set and I was getting a gel polish and pedi... Being a cosmetologist I am extremely familiar with state board rules and regulation and this salon better hope they never have state board come in... Things are filthy and dusty, back of pedicure chairs have huge stains and empty candy wrappers... They DO NOT have a sterilization area for implements.. When they were using a towel on my feet for my pedicure they put it in the MICROWAVE to warm it up.. But I will say my gel Polish lasted the full 2 weeks so once again I decided to go to this salon at this point because they're open late on Sundays.. This time same thing gel polish and pedi.. My pedi was amazing but my gel Polish was AWFUL. This guy had no idea what he was doing and was huffing and puffing the whole time. 3 days later all of my nails are peeling... I go here regularly because I go to college within walking distance. Overall, they are great! I do have a few complaints though, but have learned how to work around them. The salon gets incredibly busy sometimes (usually Thursday-Saturday and in the afternoons/evenings like you would expect) and you could wait up to an hour just for a manicure. I don't usually have this problem in the late morning/early afternoon so I go in between classes. The adult women who are always working are talented, helpful, and friendly! They really do a great job. They are awesome at multitasking- they will start working on your fill while you're getting a pedicure so you are out of the salon faster. The prices are really reasonable for the quality of work you get too. However the younger people there tend to be loud and never really seem to be working- mostly just sit in the back and play music on their phones. I am not sure if they are just family or if they are employees, though. Overall it's a great salon. But if you can only go in the evenings and don't wait to wait a long time, you may want to go to a larger and more organized salon. I think they could really benefit from one person who just works at reception and keeps track of who's next in line for what services. read more
