The last time we were here, we were told something regarding bringing food for him, so this time I called ahead before coming to ask if we could bring his French fries in that he would eat. I specifically called because I wanted to respect the restaurant and avoid any issues. I explained the situation to the manager. I was told they have a kids menu, but none of the options on the kids menu are foods our son will eat because of his extremely limited diet. I explained that and asked if we could simply bring food that he can eat. The answer was still no. We weren't trying to get around the rules or avoid purchasing a meal. We called ahead, explained the situation, and asked for a simple accommodation so our son could sit with his family and eat. What was most disappointing was the lack of understanding or willingness to work with us. Saying "we have a kids menu" doesn't solve the problem when a child with special needs cannot eat any of those options. We made every effort to handle this respectfully. Unfortunately, that same consideration was not extended to our family. We will not be returning.

As far as food goes, my only real complaints are that they don't put as much sauce on the chicken (I like to mix the extra Tso's sauce with my rice), and the fortune cookies were stale. My only other real complaint was that the food was called in, the quoted time was 10 minutes, I arrived in 8, and they hadn't even started on the food. And this wasn't due to business, as there was only one couple inside eating, no phones ringing, and no visible cooks working hard on orders. It would appear that they simply do not cook the food until you actually come in and pay, which completely defeats the purpose of calling in ahead of time. In my opinion this restaurant has the potential to be more. While it has been here for a while, there are things to note that can make it feel like a place people would enjoy to sit and enjoy a meal. 1) The paper plates and Styrofoam cups need to go. While I understand there was a pandemic at one point, we are past that, and honestly, a sit-down restaurant feels more inviting with metal utensils and real dine-in dishes and cups. 2) I wasn't too fond of the shrimp egg roll at all. It was way too salty; I couldn't get past the first bite at all. 3) Not as many tables, and there is room to add at least three more tables. All in all, despite the minor setbacks, we give this place four stars. I'd definitely return for in-restaurant dining, especially if the tableware were updated to something appropriate for its food.
