The Thai rice noodles were so good!!!! Everything we got was good except the beef stick and ribs. The meat of those 2 items were way too tough. I couldn't. But if you want an old school yummy Chinese spot this place is it. I liked it and will definitely order from here again. The crab rangood, Mongolian beef and general Taos were really good. You get a lot of food with each order. You choice of side and the dish. read more

Not the best service and the food is mid at best. I never see anyone dining in when I pick up an order. I, more than likely will not visit again. read more

Chen's Chinese Bistro at 3281 N Hunt Hwy, Florence, AZ 85132 (Right Side of Safeway) has been at this location for 18 years. Some negative reviews talk about the high prices. I found pricing to be fair and the luncheon specials are really reasonably priced. I ordered the sweet and sour pork with white rice, egg drop soup, won ton chips, and Chen's special ice tea. I got to give the meal 5 Stars. The pieces of pork had been individually battered then perfectly fried. A perfect medley of pineapple, onions, and green bell peppers really complimented it. The rice was perfectly steamed and the soup and won ton chips were great! I looked at some of the other dishes being served which looked excellent. My server was all alone taking care of lots of take outs and customers eating. I was very impressed how friendly and kind she was. The service was excellent, considering how busy she was. The ambience was really nice with booths and tables for families. The restaurant was very clean and odor free. The meal I had was excellent and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant. read more

Since this place is really the only Chinese restaurant in the area that I know of, I was curious to see if it was any good. Chen's Chinese Bistro wasn't great, but it wasn't bad, either. It's in the Safeway shopping center on N. Hunt Highway. The parking lot is wide open and shared with the other neighboring businesses. I ordered as I was leaving Saturday mass, knowing it would be ready when I arrived. It was indeed ready when I got there, but I was not impressed. The food was just alright. I wanted a dish similar to what I normally order, which is a Hong Kong style cake noodle. The Double Pan Fried Noodles combo style was wayyyy too salty!! Had it been seasoned less, it would have been better. The Shrimp Fried Rice was dry. While I liked that they weren't stingy on the shrimp (quantity and size), it just didn't taste as good as I am used to. The restaurant itself has a nice ambiance, very casual and clean. I think the prices are a bit high, but I guess it reflects the fact that they're so far from civilization, lol. Florence is up and coming, so I hope to see more Chinese restaurants pop up in the future. I'd be willing to try this place again, but not anytime soon. I hope they were just having an off day. =/ read more

Wait staff are friendly, prompt service and food delivery. Hot and sour soup to much pepper, 6 tiny pieces of tofu, sweet and sour chicken was all breading, Left the "leftovers" Bill came, overcharged by $5.00 ???? Never going back!! read more

Pretty good food. Have eaten here several times. Food and service fine but not much ambiance if you chose to dine in. Seems to be mostly a take out place. read more

Mediocre food. As others noted, staff was not friendly at all. Peculiar odor hits you when you first walk in. My almond and cashew chicken was strangely tasteless. Egg rolls were mushy. Limited restaurant choices in the area but have no reason to go back. read more

The Beef with Vegetables is so savory and loaded with a variety of American & Chinese veggies, and of course plenty of tender beef. It's my GoTo now! It's not spicy hot, not sweet (dunno if sugar free) Depending on your appetite, good for leftovers too. read more

Food is so-so. Only go there when we don't have time to go to Coolidge. Won't let me post without more charicters! Perhaps Won't take a two star rating? read more

I expect service with a smile, and this place falls short. I've seen reviews asking customers not to be rude because the staff is hardworking, but in my experience, they are responding to how they are treated. This is their career choice, and hard work doesn't excuse the lack of professional rapport. When picking up carryout, I'm greeted with a curt "thirteen dollars" instead of a welcome. The food is solid--4 stars--but the unwelcoming atmosphere and service both earn 3 stars. I keep returning because options are limited in this new community, but I'd welcome competition. A professional greeting and a smile would go a long way. read more

Everyone I speak to has gone to Chens once....and they never go back. I am of the same opinion. Not good chinese food....I hope they do not renew their lease and some good Asian restaurant or good Mexican restaurant moves in.... read more

Great food and always friendly! There's tons of locations and none have disappointed yet, thankful to have it here!

Food and prices are good. I have gone several times. The only thing is that the food does not reheat well. Since I don't usually finish my food I like to warm it the next day for dinner. This is the only Chinese restaurant I can't do that. read more

I tried this place a few times in years past and wasn't impressed, mostly due to the grumpy owners and service, but they've stepped up their game in the last few months. The food has been good and fairly consistent with the spice levels. The service was prompt and friendly. I'll give them a few more tries and if the service and quality remain at the current levels I will upgrade my rating. read more

When I moved to the area 8 years ago. The food was really good. However it has gone downhill over the past 3 to 4 years.

Food was really bad. It was soggy and cold. We ordered beef and broccoli, chicken chow mein and sweet and sour pork. We can't say anything was good. The broccoli was actually fridge cold in spots and the corn starch to thicken the sauce was all chalky and not fully cooked. There were also fridge cold bean sprouts in then chow mein. When we told the lady it was actually cold she said she could put it in the microwave for us, ahh no thx. It's been about 8 years since we've eaten here now I know why. We won't be back. read more

I've been here twice now & the food is always amazing. Whenever I travel somewhere, I have to find the best Chinese & I'd have to say this is it! Service was quick & very friendly too! I've come to AZ the past 3yrs now & I'll definitely be back here! read more

I never like to poo poo any restaurant because I know it's hard running a business and everyone has off days. The service was good. The waitress very attentive and kind. But please trust the other reviews here. The food was not good and I wasn't able to finish it. I hope that they can improve this in the future. read more

The Service was amazing. The portions were very large and the food was delicious. My high school soccer team stopped in and despite our loudness were treated with kindness, amazing service, and even some free soup from their generosity. The lighting and art is very nice as well. read more

In town and looking for somewhere to sit and have supper after a day of golf. In this part of Florence, there is not an over abundance to choose from. I ordered the Kung Poa with Scallops, which came with a bowl of Hot and Cold Soup. All very yummy. I found the service very harsh though and our service came out without a smile. I also HATE when servers just say "yup" when being thanked. read more

Food is not that great and the prices are too high for they are offering. Not a great place for Chinese food.

Good food and nice portions if you order the lunch. The dinner sizes are more like family sized. Clean inside with outdoor seating. Quick service, food was ready really quickly. read more

Greasy and not very flavorful My husband like the pork fried rice tho I didn't try it ...I had sweet n sour pork and neither of us liked it read more

Food was expensive and not good at all. Service was fine. Location is convenient but we won't go back.

Food was very saucy I don't know where they got the recipe for orange chicken. Service was rude from starting of taking the order by phone and it didn't get better once I got there. Seems as though they know that there is no where else to eat and can get away with bad service and not so good cooking. Really wanted to like the place. Restaurant looks nice though. read more

Was in the area and decided to call in an order and bring it home. There was no wait, my order was ready when I arrived at the restaurant. The restaurant was clean and orderly. The staff were friendly. Everything was delicious. read more

This is a solid three stars for a strip-mall Chinese restaurant. It wasn't very busy at lunchtime. Service was efficient. The prices were decent - $7.95 for most lunch specials, which included rice, salad, soup, egg roll and cream cheese puff. It was the smallest salad and cup of soup we've ever seen, but all in all still a good value. My husband had sweet/sour pork and I had Asian glazed chicken. Both fairly decent. But not something I would drive 20 miles to visit again. read more

This place is pretty damn good. I usually prefer Thai to Chinese, but this was good. My 12 year is, "this is much better than Panda*... Well duh. We go teriyaki clean, chow mein, curry chicken, and fried rice. All good! read more

We all enjoyed the food here. I had orange beef w/ pork fried rice but we shared our dishes and every thing was delicious. The restaurant was clean and very comfortable. Had the teriyaki chicken, which was cut up so small, that it became dried out when cooked. we also had the twice fried pan noodles, which were not appetizing due to being all stuck into one clump. Not a fan of this place. read more

Great food and service. Nice atmosphere and the prices are good. I go there with friends frequently to eat.

Live and Learn. Not all Chen's are the same, and we will NEVER eat here again. To begin, the place stinks as soon as you walk in, a very putrid sulfur smell envelops you to the point of nausea....so we quickly changed out plans from a nice evening out to take-out and head back home. Once we got home and tried the food we took 2 bites and it was the WORST Chinese food we have ever had. Didn't even look right. Didn't taste good at all. The lemon chicken looked like fake chicken and was not a panko type breading like usual. The Mongolian beef looked like it had already been eaten by someone else Was looking forward to making this a regular place to eat since we just moved to the area from Chandler, but looks like we'll be driving back up there for real Chinese food. read more

Good place for quick takeout! However, they prefer you pay in cash not card. I don't carry cash so when I paid with a card I received a frown face form the actual cashier that checked me out. read more
