We wanted to dine in and in essence they give you your takeout to enjoy at a clean table. The food was hot and fresh.

The worst Chinese food I have ever had. Ordered sesame chicken, straight garbage dark meet and too tough to chew. It tasted like it was heated in a microwave and tossed in sauce. Hot and Sour soup had 0 sour in it and the they forgot my spring rolls. Carrolton show prey for Panda! read more

We stopped over here for a quick bite. We shared steamed dumplings and I got hot & sour soup. We took it to go but the restaurant seemed clean & comfortable. The dumplings were pretty good. The dipping sauce was really good. The hot & sour soup is spicy enough to cure a cold. I love it. There are big chunks of mushrooms and tofu. The wonton strips were a bit too hard. Next time we'll bring more of an appetite to try a couple more dishes. read more

We have been frequent and consistently happy customers for around 17 years, and one of our preferred menu selections over that long period was Bourbon Chicken. Until recently, that is! For some unknown reason, the restaurant entirely changed the way the dish is prepared. The chicken pieces are now breaded and dry with very little--if any--of the Bourbon sauce. The first time we received this "new" recipe, we honestly thought perhaps our order got mixed up. But when the second and third orders continued to have this disappointing new (but definitely NOT improved) version, it was clear our old favorite was altered beyond recognition! I can't pretend to know how popular the old preparation was with the public at large, but it was a HUGE favorite with every single member of our family! This new version--NOT AT ALL! It's especially disappointing because we Carrollton area residents don't exactly have an abundance of restaurant options to choose between in the first place, so knocking one off the list is pretty disastrous. But THAT'S how much of a deal breaker the new Bourbon Chicken recipe is! read more

Good portion, food was hot, rice is good, general tso chicken is very mediocre. Not crispy at all and rubbery to chew. Sauce is pretty good but nothing unique. Honestly could only eat a few bites before completely losing my appetite thankfully prices are relatively cheap so I didn't waste to much money.. but it was a waste. I would avoid read more

Cheng's Gourmet - Beef, soup and shrimp - Chinese Near Me - Carrollton, Ohio

The food is a major disappointment and way over priced. We spent $60 there and couldn't bring ourselves to finish our food. It gave my friend and I upset stomachs. We ordered the Dragon & Phoenix, Beef Lo-mein, General Tso chicken, and sweet and sour chicken. It was horrible. This was my second time trying this place. I can attest that the eggrolls are the worst I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and save yourself stomach issues: drive the extra distance and go to Sesame Grill or Sumo. For a little extra driving time and the same amount of money, you can get much better food. read more

It can be very hard to find good Chinese food, at least in my experience. This place knocks it out of the park everytime. Crab rangoons are FIRE and everything else meets expectations as well. Love the sweet and sour pork!! Service is always very fast too! read more

Excellent cashew chicken and The General Zho is A number 1 also. Excellent cooking. Their prices are very reasonable.

Food was not edible, the staff was rude, the seating area was not clean. We walked out after taking two bites of food. They make you pay when you order. And you don't see the stuff after you've paid. read more

The only local place for Chinese food, and it's not that great... probably worth driving out of town for sure. The service/staff are polite, the prices are OK, however the food itself is really disappointing. For example - today I ordered sesame chicken for myself. I received some half-assed general tso's smothered with sesame seeds on top. I avoid ordering spicy food because I have stomach ulcers, so I guess all I get to eat today is rice. My husband's roast pork lo mein and sweet & sour pork were fine. read more

We checked this place out while visiting Carrollton, Ohio in November. We ordered takeout because it was snowing! I walked inside and was greeted by the girl at the counter. I grabbed a menu and ordered some vegetable egg fu yung and, of course, some sugar donuts! We got our food sooner than expected and it was warm and delicious. It was just how we ordered it. We also got more food than expected and felt like it was a fair price. We got a ton of sugar donuts! The only thing I'd change is the way the donuts are packaged. It seems like they took a cup of sugar, poured it into the bag and then dropped the donuts on top. Overall I think this is a great place to eat. If I ever go back to Carrollton they have my business! read more

It's not the worst but it's definitely not the best. The general Tso's has an odd flavor. If you like horse radish try the home made hot mustard....yikes read more

Food was fresh, hot, and all around Excellent. Wait time was short. Service was with a smile. I Always get my moneys worth here. I definitely suggest it to anyone who hasn't tried it. Not many choices for dining in Carrollton OH. This is a pleasant surprise in such a small town. read more

There really isn't much in Carrolton... Cheng's has never disappointed. Staff is always friendly and courteous. Once food is ordered, the wait is never very long. My favorite by far had to be the "Chicken Curry with Onions." I highly recommend anyone who hasn't stopped in to do so! read more

Cheng's Gourmet - a close up of a visa card - Chinese Near Me - Carrollton, Ohio

A little harder to eat here since the dining room had to close for COVID but still enjoy the food for take-out. It is family owned and operated and the family has been part of our community for at least 15 years now. They're always quick to accommodate any changes and/or substitutions. Best in the community! read more

The chef/owner makes your food to order. Order at the front counter, and the generous portions are delivered hot to your table, or you can take out; most people seem to prefer that. There was only one guy working there on a Friday around 1:00, but he was able to handle the sporadic customers. This place definitely deserves more business, particularly in the context of its surroundings. read more

We are from Baltimore Maryland and we can't believe how good this Chinese restaurant is in the small town of Carrollton Ohio! The food here is excellent ! The steamed dumplings are not the usual frozen variety - they are made from scratch! The boneless pork ribs are delicious too. We look forward to eating here whenever we visit Carrollton. read more

I just moved to Carrollton and was excited to see a chinese restaurant! I just came back from there grabbing a lunch special to go. OMG ... it was awful. I ended up throwing it away. This place is not a restaurant -- it is fast food. So disappointed. read more
