Orange Chicken

Absolutely amazing food! I am blown away! The orange chicken was to die for and the sesame chicken was equally amazing. I'm a huge texture person and they nailed that crispy outside and chewy. The server was so helpful and friendly. I'm sad this isn't anywhere near my house because I'd eat here often. What an amazing find!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior and exterior did not let on the quality of vegan food inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Top tier vegan Chinese that is just as good as vegan food I've had in New York city and Philadelphia. The sesame "chicken" and orange "chicken" were better than other vegan chicken I've had. Highly recommend even if you aren't vegan (I'm not). It's mostly soy based meat substitutes with some tempeh based.

This is a vegan paradise! All of the food is vegan, the menu is extensive, and the prices are fair. We ordered appetizers and an entree. We had enough food left over for each of us to have another meal. The food was so good that I only got photos of our entrees. When our main course arrived we were so excited to try it that we forgot to take pictures. Parking on the street or parking behind the building if you're really good backing up in tight places. We drove from Lancaster, and it's worth the drive. We'll be back.

First time here and already planning to go back again soon. The food was so tasty and the service was great. I had the orange chickn and my colleague had the teriyaki chickn. Both dishes were great and bribing someone with me who isn't vegan she said she wanted to meet there again- high praise imo! It's a cute little place with only a few tables so if you go at peak times might not be able to find one.

Super fresh vegan Chinese food. Can't complain honestly, sweetest staff ever, which just makes you want to support them even more. First time and we got a lot of food - beef and mixed veg, chicken fried rice, chicken lo mein, wonton soup, seafood delight, seaweed salad, steamed dumplings, and cheesecake. Top picks were the cheesecake, seaweed salad, and chicken lo mein. Bottom pics were the seafood delight. Everything else was solidly good. No grease, no MSGs, so everything feels good to eat. It's funny, you actually notice how much salt and MSG is in your normal vegan chinese food once you have this and it kinda makes you feel a little guilty. Biggest note: this is a small operation. Super limited indoor seating, and sometimes long wait times for to-go orders. Be nice, and they'll be nice back. This is such a blessing to have in Berks County.

Chen is delicious! I am not vegetarian, however my friend is, so I was eager to give it a try to see how the "meat" tasted. Everything is phenomenal and you will be impressed with the taste and quality of the food. The owner is very friendly and the atmosphere is nice. It's right on the strip of Penn Ave so afterwards you can go for a nice walk. Definitely give Chen a try, even if you aren't vegetarian!

Pad Kee Mai with "chicken"

Was looking for dinner around town on a Friday evening. Saw this place had great reviews so decided to try it out. Tried to call in my order but the line was busy, so I assumed they were busy since it was a Friday. So, I drove here to order in person. Place was empty. Anywho, got to the register to order. The lady asks if I've ever been there before and I tell her no. She then proceeds to tell me that it's a vegetarian place which means there's no meat. I kinda understood that from the name (lol) but I just replied okay. Ordered the sesame "chicken", pad kee mai with "chicken", spring rolls (2 come in 1 order) & the cheesecake. Sesame "chicken": DIVINE! Tasted so good. Very good flavor and didn't make me miss real chicken one bit. Loved how it wasn't soggy and they tried to make it crispy which was a nice touch. Pad Kee Mai: spicy! Good flavor and texture. Very filling. Spring rolls: delicious! Could taste a hint of basil but wasn't overwhelming and was very crunchy. A bit small in my opinion for $5 but still good. Cheesecake: yummy! Tastes like a caramel cheesecake but not overwhelming. Tasty and my stomach won't hurt because it's dairy free! Overall delicious. Definitely will be my go-to for Chinese food now. All the food came up to a little over $30 for an appetizer, 2 entrees and dessert. Worth every penny.

Great vegan takeout Chinese in the Reading area! I got the chicken wings on a sugarcane stick and sesame "chicken." It was pretty good, and the sugarcane stick for the chicken wings was a unique and environmentally friendly idea. The sesame chicken was pretty good, although slightly chewy on the first day (there was plenty for leftovers!). I think this place is around 4 stars, but having a completely vegan Chinese restaurant in Reading is amazing.

Singapore mei fun

Open for takeout only as of this writing. I wisely called in so I could talk a bit, and landed on some Singapore curry noodles. I was reminded that this place is vegetarian; I guess every now and then a customer gets surprised by this. The dish I picked up was a good portion of aromatic thin rice noodles with just a bit of kick and a large volume of various soy-based fake meats. I'm not a huge fake meat person, but these were fine enough. If I had my way, I'd want more things on the menu like broad beans, peanuts, and cashews for protein, and I'd also lose the broccoli and get some more Chinese vegetables. But I'm glad they're here, and the menu as it is has plenty that I would like to try.

Service was great and this cat at the checkout bid us a farewell I'll not soon forget.

The interior dining area is relatively small and clean, though I would not recommend it for large gatherings. I thoroughly enjoyed the "get that corn outta my face" and was thankful to have the option for it in a bowl (otherwise I wouldn't have tried it.) it was a unique blend of flavors and textures that had me questioning the first bite or two, but the more I ate it, the more I liked it. (If you get the bowl, I recommend stirring it up first to evenly distribute the ingredients.) Service was prompt and courteous when they brought each of the meals to our table. This is a counter style establishment, so that was appreciated. The theme of the restaurant focuses on the Nacho Libre movie (menu items named after key movie points) and other movies focused on luchadores. It is unfortunate that the thumb wrestling rings never returned to the tables following Covid. This is a fun and laidback place to grab a quick bite. I love the quirky atmosphere and the delicious food. My recommendation would be to go during down times so you can sit and enjoy the atmosphere without the wait.

The food here is always delicious and fast. I'm posting their 2026 menu. They have a very wide…read moreselection of dishes. Their spicy dishes aren't really that spicy and the American palate can handle them - that isn't a critique at all. If they could make the spicy dishes spicy like sichuan dishes most people in the area could not handle it, needless to say I'm a return customer and will continue frequenting them. They are great!

With how close Great Wall is to me, it's a bit surprising I don't eat here on a weekly basis. I…read moresuppose it's the health-conscious, more mature me making that decision. As it stands, I eat here maybe twice a year? But when I do, the experience is magical. Absence, as they say, makes the girth of my waist grow fatter and my physical features exceedingly grotesque. This place has just been so damn deliciously consistent. While Tokyo Hibachi and Zhuang's Garden have seen their quality steadily nosedive, Great Wall tastes just as good now as it did the first time I tried it all those years ago. The hot & sour soup is head and shoulders above any other Chinese restaurants' offerings in a 10 mile radius. Now even though I live a few blocks away, I'd drive, well, 10 miles just to have this soup. It has that perfect gloopy, almost gelatinous consistency. This is a gross comparison, but it's almost mucousy? But super flavorful mucous with secret Chinese spices, like MSG. It's so thick, in fact, that you can use it as an impromptu sauce on white rice or lo mein. Perhaps even mei fun if you're feeling adventurous. Great Wall one of the growing number of Chinese restaurants to move away from those foldable white cardboard containers. You know, the ones that everyone eats out of in movies when they're working late at the office. It's so welcome to see those rectangular plastic containers that stack easier and - perhaps most importantly - are microwave safe. Ever put one of those old containers in the microwave, forgetting they have that thin metal handle and nearly explode your microwave and burn the house down? Yeah, not ideal. I have to emphasize the lo mein, a fan favorite. There's something that sets it apart, and I think it's a hint of sautéed garlic. Also they fry off the noodles a bit more, allowing them to absorb all the flavor from the wok. Nothing's worse than bland lo mein. I can't even order it at some places anymore because it's my favorite and they've nearly ruined it for me. Luckily Great Wall has restored my faith. My other go-tos are the moo goo gai pan (a relatively healthy chicken & vegetable dish) and Szechuan chicken (when I want some extra spice). Parking can be tricky since it's right on Penn Ave. West Reading is pretty much back in full gear, so street parking fills up fast, especially in the evenings. The greedy owners of the parking lot across the street would rather have spots go to waste than let people park there and enjoy the downtown atmosphere (unless they pay premium for a parking pass, that is). Fortunately I have never run into any rudeness from the employees. Perhaps it's due to the Asian connection. Even though I'm super American, sometimes I pretend to struggle with the English language so the staff of Chinese restaurants accept me as their own. Hey, it's a dog eat dog world, and you gotta take any advantage you can get to make it out alive.

Fun restaurant and bar in the Reading, PA area!…read more My friends and I were traveling through Pennsylvania and we wanted dinner, a place to watch a football game, and good food/beer. We found Brewer's on Yelp and and were very happy with our visit. Brewer's had a local feel to do it and a lively atmosphere for a Thursday night. The food menu has a large selection of different types of food so almost anyone can find something to eat. Great selection of beer with a lot of regional offerings. Also seem to run a special for different types of alcohol for most nights of the week ($6 large draft IPA beer on Thursday night). I ordered the brisket meatloaf sandwich that came with BBQ sauce and gouda cheese on top. The sandwich was very tasty and I especially enjoyed the pretzel roll it was served on. I liked that I was able to substitute a side of perogies instead of chips. The moon ranch grilled chicken sandwich was a little underwhelming and the moon sauce was the only positive to that sandwich. The service was good and our server checked back in with us multiple times during our visit. There's also a beer outlet with a large selection of craft beer attached to the restaurant so you can take local craft beer home with you. They call themselves a small place with the BIG selection!

Our waitress, who chose to wear air pods, was crass and impolite. She was sarcastic in a negative way towards one of the members in my party about their drink choice. She also stunk of heavy cigarette smoke and was coughing all over the place. The food was nothing special - just standard bar food. However, the prices here are outrageous! Unfortunately, it's just not worth going here when I can go elsewhere and get a real meal, not just bar food. I'm actually sad that I have to leave a negative review. In the men's bathroom, the sink has next to no water pressure and they were out of soap. I wonder how the employees wash their hands... On a positive note, the food was served fresh and hot!
