The Riverwalk was to packed with tourists. I sat at the bar as i wanted to watch March Madness. The guests I was seated next to were nice enough to let me change the channel to see basketball game I wanted to see so that was a plus. The music playing was great upbeat classic rock. The entrance to the restaurant is one floor up from the street on Commerce. Maddy was very pleasant and provided service with a smile. She was very attentive to all customers. I ordered the garlic shiitake noodles and crispy Brussels sprouts along with a tall double captain and Coke Zero. Everything was great. Before a concert I wanted something that wouldn't mess with my sensitive stomach. I enjoyed my experience so much that I returned the following day and ordered the exact same thing. Enjoyed it just as much the second time around.

I tried the Gardein Orange Chicken along with their pretzel, and both were seriously good. The orange chicken had great flavor with just the right amount of sweetness and kick, and the pretzel was warm, soft, and perfect for sharing. Service was attentive, the atmosphere was lively, and everything came out just right. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

Firstly, we had trouble getting an uber at first and when I called the staff was very friendly and were able to hold the table a little longer which I appreciated. The menu is a mix of Asian Fusion small plates and I would have loved to have had more of a sampling of the menu but it wasn't that large of a party. The cocktails were not too sweet and perfectly balanced. The Fist of Fury was so refreshing and the Yuzu margarita was delightful! The plates come when they are ready and I have to say the food came really quick! All of it was fantastic! Surprisingly the shredded vegetable salad was amazing and one of my favorite dishes! The tamarind glaze on the Chicken Karaage was not overpowering and so tasty. The service was amazing and the vibes of the restaurant were a lot of fun. The bathrooms were down the stairs and there was a little bar off to the side. Would definitely go back! I couldn't stop talking about it the next day to anyone that would listen.

We were right on the river walk, but walked through the entire restaurant on our way to be seated and every bit of it is as lovely as where we ended up sitting. The Riverwalk, however, is a people watching place and so there really isn't any place in this particular restaurant which is not gonna be pleasant. Secondly, the service is exceptional. This is a very busy place. However, the waiter was simply incredible. Very attentive, very informative quite humorous. He was frankly part of the river walk entertainment. Extremely accommodating and instructive as well. You can't hope for much more from a server in Restaurant than this activity. The food is really quite good. How are the drinks. Extremely dependable and the portions are generous and equally wonderful. There are many places to dine in San Antonio. However, this is an experience not to be missed and I mean that quite sincerely. Kudos for a very, very well run well situated and well managed enjoyable place to dine on the river walk in San Antonio.

The soup never arrived, but we didn't say anything because the prime rib with fries and veg looked like plenty of food for us. The prime rib was flavorful, and was a big portion which was expected for the $48 price tag. Veg was mid and I wasn't wowed by the seasoning on the shoestring fries. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of the lime chess pie. In general, I adore chess pies but the lime flavor just didn't pair well with the custard filling.

This place nails…read moreexactly what you want in a Spanish tapas spot: solid paella that actually tastes authentic, creative small plates that keep coming without overwhelming you, and handcrafted cocktails that hit right. We shared a bunch of tapas and one of the signature paellas -- every dish had that perfect balance of flavor, fresh ingredients, and just enough flair without trying too hard. The rice in the paella was on point, crispy bits and all. Atmosphere is lively but not chaotic -- great for a relaxed dinner that stretches into a couple of hours. Dim lighting, nice energy, and you can actually hear the people at your table. Service was smooth and friendly, no rushing, just good pacing so you can enjoy the meal. If you're in San Antonio and craving real Spanish vibes -- tapas, sangria, paella, the works -- Toro delivers without the tourist-trap nonsense. It's become one of my go-to spots when I want quality food and a chill night out. Fair prices for the quality, clean spot, and that certified Spanish restaurant stamp means they're doing it right. Highly recommend. We'll be back for sure -- 5 stars, no notes. Go hungry and bring friends to share everything. Toro Kitchen + Bar - do it.

The 1800s Western decor creates a fun atmosphere both outside and inside. I came solo at lunchtime on a weekday and was immediately seated at a wooden high-top table near the bar. The friendly woman who was bartending took care of me during my meal, providing excellent service...and extra napkins, which I defintely would need. I ordered the Bonham Brisket Grilled Cheese, a sandwich consisting of slow-cooked brisket and mutiple slices of melted cheese between locally made sourdough bread. (side note: Bonham refers to James Butler Bonham, a brave officer and courier who gave his life at the battle of the Alamo) The sandwich was stuffed with super-tender brisket. The brisket wasn't smoked and had mild flavor, overpowered by the cheese. I used a provided side of fantastic barbecue sauce to kick it up (and also to dip my fries in). The bread of the sandwich was nicely grilled and delicious, definitely greasy (as expected!). I enjoyed it and it filled me up. It's a great place to get some food, especially when visiting the Alamo.
