Typically when you sit down at the yard house bar, the bartenders usually clean off the bar with a wet towel and remove the sticky beer/food from the previous patrons and then put down the place settings and black napkin settings. None of that happened. They also always card everyone in the party, I didn't see them card anyone in the bar this night. While there were plenty of staff (in different color shirts - white, black and grey) behind the bar not one person said hello, welcomed anyone on our side of the bar or made eye contact. They were more focused on cleaning the glasses than taking our order. It was just odd. Getting past that, I enjoyed the local cider selection (kiwi strawberry) and my husband enjoyed the Belgium golden ale house beer). Food was great as well we enjoyed the boneless wings Korean style, Miguel's queso and ahi sashimi. Delicious. I also enjoyed the music videos playing on one of the tvs that was so fun. Bathrooms were clean but both needed work. In the women's, I noticed the vacant/occupied switches were not in working order as some of the signs said occupied but they were not; and the ones that said vacant were occupied. My husband noticed that there was no soap or towels in the men's bathroom. It's the little things. Even if you are crowded you should be staffed well enough to take care of these things.

I ordered the Bonham Brisket Grilled Cheese, a sandwich consisting of slow-cooked brisket and mutiple slices of melted cheese between locally made sourdough bread. (side note: Bonham refers to James Butler Bonham, a brave officer and courier who gave his life at the battle of the Alamo) The sandwich was stuffed with super-tender brisket. The brisket wasn't smoked and had mild flavor, overpowered by the cheese. I used a provided side of fantastic barbecue sauce to kick it up (and also to dip my fries in). The bread of the sandwich was nicely grilled and delicious, definitely greasy (as expected!). I enjoyed it and it filled me up. It's easy for food quality to slip as the night gets later, but that definitely wasn't the case here. Everything we ordered was hot, fresh, and delicious. We especially loved the pizza and, of course, the biscuits. We also tried a couple of cocktails, which weren't quite as impressive as the food. The real standout, though, was our server, Ivan. He bent over backwards for our large group, answered every question, and somehow managed to get every order right. He made the meal memorable and provided fantastic service from start to finish. I hope he knows how appreciated he is, and someone should give that man a raise! Great late-night food, great service, and a perfect place to refuel after exploring the River Walk.
