I haven't done a review in a Hot Min, my bad it is what it is, but I HAD to write on this spot. I live in the are and come here on Mondays cause another "famous" spot closed on Mondays. I got three tacos and she told me $8. EIGHT BUCKS. I asked her if she got the right order and she did. I immediately posted the Menu and lunch specials. This place is too good and too AFFORDABLE to be missed. Its location is a bit tough to navigate but it is worth it. plus it opens early enough for pick before work (7AM). My bacon n Eggs was tasty-tasty, the Carne guisada was more carne than guisada (nice) and the cold B&C w/bacon was solid later in the day as a snack. I only have had the verde salsa and it was nice and picoso. I called my tacos in drove a couple of mins and it was at the counter when I arrived. The inside dining is bigger than it looks from the outside. What's convenient is the other stores are "later in the day" business so just park where you can. I ate at an event catered by this restaurant. Cheese enchiladas, rice, beans, tortillas, chips, salsa and salad. They came to the event, set up, served and cleaned up with no issues. They were fast and delicious! I am going to have to and eat in person because it was knock your socks off good. read more

We heard about this place on Facebook because of their carne guisada. Unfortunately, they were sold out when we arrived. The waitress offered us a sample of their mesquite brisket and it was properly seasoned and very flavorful!! My husband decided to try their brisket nachos and he said they were the best he had. I opted for cheese enchiladas and let me tell you it ruined my diet. If you were a fan of enchilada day at school then this will take you back to the moment and you don't have to wait until Wednesday to get them. These are seriously the best enchiladas I've had. Casa de Rosa is one of those places you only hear about by word of mouth. In my case, I used to work across the street from them, and my bosses would always order tacos for pickup in the mornings. I fell in love with their potato and egg taco with a little bit of their fresh salsa they usually reserve for chips during lunch. (I've come to call it "table salsa") Even after I stopped working across the street, I still make special trips here because the food is so dang delicious, and Ms. Rosa and Tania still remember me! My parents always ask to come to Rosa's when they visit, and my out-of-state friends were also brought here and they thoroughly enjoyed their introduction to some of the best Tex-Mex food in the city. Every time I bring a person to Rosa's they fall in love with its simplicity and home-cooked meals. My personal favorites? Pretty much everything. For breakfast, I usually have the potato and egg taco with table salsa, or maybe I'll get the chorizo plate, which has refried beans, papas, and comes with flour tortillas (that are so obviously made in-store). If it's a weekend, you absolutely cannot go wrong with the menudo. It's savory, it's spicy, it's a hug in a bowl. For lunch I like getting the enchiladas verdes. I wish more people gave Casa de Rosa the recognition it deserves, because every time I see a "best breakfast taco" "best menudo" or "best enchiladas" list, I scoff, because they have obviously not been to Casa de Rosa. read more

I had a horrible experiance here. Noone could speak clear english here. They double charged me on my card. I couldnt even get things straighten up with owner because of the laungish bairer. Had to make a claim with my bank. The employees there at the restaurant didn't know how to credit my card. Horrible business to go to. Plus the food isnt all to give a good rating. Should of just gone to Taco Cabana. DON'T stop here @ Casa De Rosa Cafe Also what was crazy was they had refunded me, in cash, for one of the extra charge. Then they asked for it back. REALLY! My wife and I stopped by as we had a baseball game nearby. This was our first visit and will not be our last. Immediately upon entry, the entire staff welcomes you with open arms. Rosa came out to introduce herself as the waitress mentioned to her it was our first time here. She is the sweetest person ever. We learned a little about her and the history of the restaurant. This place was very reminiscent of grandmas house...the decor, the ambience and the food. Good ole home cooking. Don't come here expecting fine Mexican cuisine...instead come enjoy a great experience being back at your grandmothers house and having her serve you food made with love. read more

A woman answered the phone and spoke Spanish, was very nice when I explained I don't speak Spanish and took my order in English. The order was repeated and I got all the tacos I had asked for... now for the tacos. I ordered several (4) different breakfast tacos.. the flour tortillas were dry and cracked on every taco we ordered. The beans were oddly dry as well. The potato and egg was awesome, egg was fluffy and potatoes were cooked perfectly. Chorizo and egg was overcooked and flavorless. Carne Guisda was "ok". We have been customers since it opened, live literally around the corner. Today we ordered tacos and coffee apparently there are new staff and a situation got my husband fustrated. I did not receive a coffee I'm quite sure I paid for but made no big deal didn't call demanding my coffee. Later I received this message via Facebook from daughter of the owner. It's very unprofessional shows no respect for long time customer or your own business. We will not be back they don't want us. I've been in retail my entire life and have my own small business if I had a dollar for every time someone got loud, but I maintain my composure and take care of my customers it takes years to gain one mere seconds to lose one. In this case thier not interested in our business at all makes me wonder how they will treat a new customer they haven't known for 10 years. read more

Brisket Taco is the BEST in the world. Don't leave San Antonio or Basse Street without having one. Also, my go to is the Chilaquiles taco... the mixture is perfect along with the crispy corn chips (never trust soggie corn tortilla chips in your chilaquiles). My first time in this joint, was meeting a friend for lunch. It was surprisingly really good! I had the enchiladas verdes with charro beans. My favorite were the beans, they were freshly made with the perfect amount of spices and seasonings. The enchiladas were awesome, but I always judge a Mexican restaurant by their beans. I literally wrote home to mom to tell her that I found the best menudo (w/toast) and the most delicious homemade tortillas! Their menudo was just the right amount of spicy and not greasy at all. Their tortillas were straight off the comal and were soft with that bit of flour residue that a true home made tortilla has! I missed going home this holiday but Mrs. Rosa made me feel right at home! Walked in for our usual Sat morning get in touch breakfast - Tony and I. We ordered out usual omelettes,. all was good - coffee, milk, etc. Waitresses were attentive but did not check in regularly enough for me, but I won't complain. All in all a good time, and I would definitely recommend this place. We live just 2 blocks away. And I was proud of the place for the recent news item that they were awarded a blue plate award for good marks on their inspection. Point of pride. Only minor beef - rising prices!
