I stopped by Teka Molino around 11am on a weekday and had a really great experience. I ordered the Carne Guisada breakfast plate, which came with fried potatoes, refried beans, and tortillas. The carne guisada was tender, flavorful, and easily one of my favorite things we tried. I also got their famous Bean Cup and a Puffy Taco. The Bean Cup looks tiny and simple, but it was surprisingly delicious. The Puffy Taco was another highlight -- perfectly fried, crispy and light rather than greasy, and honestly pretty cute too! This is a casual counter-service spot: you order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. The staff were genuinely friendly, and the dining area was spacious, bright, and very clean. What I also liked was how local the place felt. Even though we were there around 11am in the middle of the week, people kept coming in for breakfast and lunch. It definitely felt like a neighborhood favorite rather than somewhere that exists mainly for tourists. Everything was reasonably priced, portions were satisfying. read more

Teka Molino 2 - Puffy taco plate (beef) - Tex-Mex Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

Searched for great Mexican while we were in town & not what we got. Man who somewhat greeted us & took our order had close to zero personality. Margaritas didn't appear to have alcohol, more lime juice & margarita mix that was so sour it made you pucker. Positive is my husband liked his shrimp dish, but beans were not hot. My queso empanada thing was fried too long - no resemblance to queso inside. The meat inside my nickel tacos had one small piece of I think chicken & way over fried - mostly lettuce & tomatoes on top. I did enjoy the guacamole that was really good. Sorry, but wouldn't go back. read more

The food was great and Avocado Salsa was off the chain. Big plates and chip are awesome and thick. Reasonably Price.

Always the best food at Teka. We have so many family meals here and run into friends every time. A San Antonio staple!

You can never go wrong with Teka! They have the best salsa, I love their green enchiladas, and their tortilla soup is amazing! This place is our lunch go to and has been for many years! read more

as a long time San Antonio Mexican food patron, TEKA MOLINO goes down as authentic I grew up eating south side Taco Hut puffy tacos, bean cups, and guacamole cups. Taco Hut is long gone, but Teka Molino is even better! read more

A visit to San Antonio wouldn't be complete without a stop here. Tonight I think because it was between lunch and dinner, the maggie was extremely frozen. I had to use a knife to soften it up enough to be able to double straw it. The beef puffy tacos as to die for, but watch the ones which want to fall apart from all the juices. Refried beans are homemade as is the rice. read more

Awesome food! Very good food, you need to try it. tacos are very good. Just try them. They're very very good.

We held a funeral luncheon at Teka Molino. Cole was so helpful with the planning, listened to what I wanted, and executed it perfectly! A huge weight was lifted off my shoulders when I found Teka Molino. The food was delicious, when we went to try it and the day of the luncheon. Everyone raved about how good the food and margaritas were! The guacamole, enchiladas with green sauce, chalupas, tacos, beans and rice were all excellent! It was a hit with the whole family. The outdoor patio was perfect for us to have a private space to be together. I couldn't have been happier with the service and food from Teka Molino. Thank you! read more

This food made me happy. I grew up in SA and haven't lived here for almost 30 years. I still come back as often as I can for visits with friends and family. I was happy to see Teja Molino 2 opened near my folks home, so I ordered. The puffy taco was perfect especially once I put the spicy salsa verde on it. Teka Molino 2 - Puffy taco Cheese enchilada - Tex-Mex Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

This is one of my favorites. Living in Boerne does not allow me to get here as much as I would like. Today they had their mobile food truuck at my work. This is a family run business that takes great pride in their delivery. SInce I have eaten at their restaurants on multiple occassions I askEd that they surprise me. They made the puffy taco with the beef fajita meat. Spend the extra money and you will not be disappointed. The thing I love that I find can not be replicated is their corn taste in the tortilla. Beans and rice were amazing as always. To make the meal complete I had a carnne guisada taco with white melted cheese. If you want a taste of heaven, this is it. read more

I grew up in Southern California and Teka Molino is hands down the best Mexican food I've had since leaving home 8 years ago. The prices are very fair and portions are awesome. Although there are only red and green salsas available to go with the free chips each salsa is truly amazing. The host at the counter was patient with us as we couldn't easily decided what to order (everything sounds good). We received our food promptly and it was very fresh and monumentally delicious. Teka Molino 2 is well put together with a cohesive design and good music at a reasonable volume. It looks like they have semi-outdoor seating as well; we are looking forward to trying that out in the fall. Shut up and take my money Teka Molino, we'll see you again soon. read more

this place is the epitome of old-school Tex-Mex! But I came here to try their new invention, the first breakfast puffy taco! I absolutely loved it. I cannot believe nowhere else had thought about making this, but the perfectly puffy taco with our fav breakfast items inside was just insane! Definitely adding this to my normal breakfast breakfast taco order read more

As a native of San Antonio, I remember the original Teka Molino on Josephine Street. It was always a treat to go there for bean rolls with my grandmother. Whenever I can make it to TM, I do. Nothing brings me back to my childhood like the beanrolls and the guacamole cups! The salsa is specific to this restaurant - love it. Service is order and pick up, the ambience is nothing special. One goes for the FOOD. True San Antonio Tex-Mex. The flavor of the corn and beans always comes through. I absolutely adore this place! I can't believe in all these years I have not written a review! read more

Teka is our around the corner Tex-Mex spot. We primarily order to go but have eaten at the restaurant a handful of times. Breakfast: The tortillas are homemade and delicious. Like my kiddo orders a tortilla and scarfs it down delicious. Pretty straightforward for breakfast tacos, just make sure to grab some of their green salsa! Lunch/dinner: Best thing on the menu? Definitely the carne guisada. Best carne guisada I've had in the states and is a nice cozy meal on a cold day. I've never tried the puffy tacos but my husband enjoys them. We live close enough that they don't get soggy by the time we are at home eating. We enjoy getting their chips and queso but wish the queso was a little thinned out because it's pretty thick. Maybe it's meant to be cheese dip and I've never read the menu description though! Overall it's a good Tex Mex restaurant that hits the spot every time. read more

My family and I tried this restaurant for the first time this morning 2/7/2025. Miguel greeted us and answered our questions. He made great suggestions and took our order. Note this review is only for take out. From the brief time I spent picking up my order, the restaurant, in a shopping center at the corner of Rittiman and Wurzbach, appeared up-to-date, clean, and well kept. I have been looking for some good fresh Tex Mex near Fort Sam, so we decided to order take out and give Teka Molino a try. Based on reviews, maybe my expectations were set unreasonably high because I feel let down by what we got. I ordered the chili relleno plate and two puffy tacos. (Figuring if the Relleno was a let down, I could always fall back on a good ol' Satown puffy taco!) The poblano chili could I guess be described as mushy with a very greasy coating of breading on it. Not crisp at all. The beef picadillo was flavorless, so not bad but not good either. The salsa it was smothered in tasted less like salsa and more like canned tomatoes. The flavor was a real let down for me, but this is possibly not the case if you like the milder side of Tex Mex! To be sure, none of the food was gross or inedible. Just not for me. I need flavor and heat. The puffy taco had the same flavorless picadillo, but the veggies were fresh. The puffy shell was a little limp and tasted greasy. I saved one in the fridge for later. Not the best idea! When I got it back out later, the oil from the shell had congealed on bottom side of the taco. read more

Decided to try this place after laying wreaths at Ft. Sam national cemetery. We worked up a pretty good appetite and didn't want to drive too far so we Yelped this place. You order when you walk in then take your number to your table. We all order something different and it was all delicious! My daughters tortilla soup had no meat and so I was skeptical, but to my surprise it was amazing!! My husband ordered the carne guisada and the meat was tender and it's flavor was unique. I figured out its the green chili's they use, so yummy! I had the Plato Mexicano which had one cheese enchilada and two tamales with chili, rice and beans. I enjoyed it all! The rice and beans were ok, not bad, but nothing special. The biggest ding would be no homemade tortillas. They didn't taste bad, but not homemade. Overall we were very happy and satisfied when we left. Oh, and they still pan dulce too! read more

Visited the Rittiman location after seeing a feature on Elder eats. The location was clean, staff was friendly, helpful and attentive. We ordered a guacamole cup, green enchiladas, and puffy tacos.
