This is how a jerky should be. Very moist when bitten into and just the right amount of crunch, when biting into it. The flavor, of the original, is not very overwhelming to keep that savory taste. It is definitely heartier than a Slim Jim. In fact, it is a probably more upscale version of a Slim Jim because you never those nodule, hard to bite into things, in the meat. It also is one brand that I have seen that does not state mechanically separated anything and it has a list of only 10 ingredients. Slim Jim has 15 ingredients of which most of them sound very chemically. I think Chef's Cut is going more "natural" route. read more
