Chef sushi use to be my favourite sushi restaurant, I use to be a regular customer there but it recently got taken under new management and the food took a big flop. I can understand the prices going up with inflation, but the rolls were stuffed with cucumber and little fish. I usually ordered the spicy roll combo and they took out the spicy scallop roll and subbed with a spicy California instead. 6 rolls now, not 8. Prices went up quite abit. Got a crazy boy roll to and they changed it to. The batter was different, no cream cheese inside. Disappointed. read more

Will not be returning, EVER. 3 other customers besides myself watched as an employee dropped an entire box of raw chicken on the sidewalk directly in front of the Chef Sushi restaurant The plastic bag from inside of the box that was holding the chicken was not sealed and the raw chicken was everywhere! With his bare hands, the employee scooped the contaminated chicken that was on the sidewalk back into the half empty bag containing the chicken that didn't make contact with the sidewalk! He carried the plastic bag through the restaurant and into the kitchen. He then returned with a small, wet plastic tub and a stainless steel bowl and picked up the rest of the chicken that was on the sidewalk and took it into the kitchen, all the while touching the door handles on his way out to pick the chicken off the sidewalk and back into the restaurant again. We watched in horror as none of the staff even attempted to address the situation - they just carried on. Nope, not returning, EVER. read more

What a gem !!! After golf in Langley had a craving for Sushi so looked up Sushi restaurants in Langley and chef Sushi had a 4.5 star rating so thought it was worth trying out ..... so glad we did !!! From the moment we walked it and was greeted by a young lady who was very welcoming we were seated and from there we had our Server Jeremy taking care of us and he was absolutely outstanding from giving us the background of the restaurant, ownership/chefs so helpful with menu !! We ordered and before our food came we were given hot tea with full pot on the table along with a chef sample of crab balls that were amazing !!! Now to the food .... need to mention they make their own soy sauce ... from our tempura to a variety of rolls fresh fresh fresh and delicious I have to say some of the best sushi I have eaten!!! All around ..... service to food quality was blown away!! Grabbed some take out from here today as it is nice and close to my office! The Chicken Teriyaki was tasty and served with some veggies and rice. The portions were generous and included Miso Soup! The service was very prompt and courteous! I enjoyed watching one of the Chefs preparing some rolls while I was waiting...it is definitely an art form and I enjoyed watching him taking his time to create some pretty food! I definitely believe that you eat with your eyes first! read more

What a lovely sushi place with delicious food! I decided to try two of their specialty rolls - the Crazy Roll and the Red Dragon Roll. When I brought my food home, there was a nice surprise waiting for me. The lovely owners had added two spring rolls on the house. What great customer service! On top of that, both rolls were delicious and very filling. They definitely do not skimp on their rolls and they have some very creative and delicious combinations. I definitely want to try out some of their other rolls and plan on giving this wonderful family-run business more of my business! read more

Super disappointed with the food here after reading some good reviews. I ordered simple things that should easily be done well- Cali roll and dynamite roll. I left half my food, and put back the take-out menu on my way out as I will never eat their food again. Over priced also... one salmon tempura appy (10$) and my two rolls and 2 Cans of pop was just under 30$. I'd skip this place if you want food food read more

The food here is absolutely disgusting! Whoever says this place is good has no idea how food should taste!!! It is not fresh, tastes extremely fishy and the sushi rolls are accompanied by pink dyed pickled ginger which is a very obvious short cut in the food industry. Based on the solid reviews, I decided to give Chef Sushi a try. I ordered the Crazy Roll and the Tempura Yam roll. Because of Covid the restaurant is still only serving for carry out. Our favourite sushi restaurant in langley. The food is always fresh. Even lunch combos are made with quality. It's very small, but the restaurant is clean. We love their spicy tuna roll, it's actually spicy! Sashimi is always fresh. The kids love their takoyaki. Only thing I would criticize is their special rolls. They use a sweet sauce for most which is don't really like. read more

Took some friends here for dinner on our way to Abbotsford airport. Found this place on yelp and thought that the reviews were pretty good. Thought we'd check it out as it was on the way and also something new. Honestly, we think that this place is one of the best sushi places ever. Ever. We ordered multiple different types of roles, including the kiss of fire roll, Unagi Baterra roll, dragon ball, and double salmon roll. They were all amazing!! Looks like a hole in the wall but, ambience is nice, easy to get to, lots of parking, clean, and feels new. Service was good, prompt, and friendly. Everyone in our group are sushi connoisseurs and all agreed that this place was great!!! Great selection of rolls as well as all are priced right!! This used to be one of the best sushi places in Langley. No longer. it's under new management (June 2022) and they have gone downhill. Raised prices significantly and for less portions. The tempura is no longer light and flakey. The sushi is not the best grade and you can tell. The takeout boxes are cardboard! The sauce soaks through and it crumples in the bag. Then when you eat, the sauce soaks through and leaks onto your pants and table. Gross. Too bad, I loved this place. Won't be going back. read more

Used to be my "go to" place in Langley for sushi. It was always on the pricier side for local sushi but the quality usually made up for it. Recently they have jacked up their prices 20-30% across the board and now it's just too expensive. I'm sorry but $7.00 for a negitoro roll is way too much. read more

This is our neighborhood sushi go-to and it is excellent!! Way better food than the other couple places in this area and the service has always been delightful, super polite and helpful. The nigiri is always that perfect combination of warm perfect sushi rice and cold buttery fish. Our kids favorite is the Victoria roll and the agadashi tofu. Definitely recommend!! read more

Noticed this place while grabbing some groceries a few weeks ago and decided to give it a shot. I usually order to go and just wait for it to be ready and the staff were very kind, offering me a seat and a small plate of fruit while I waited. Stumbled across this place. Glad that we did. The rolls are huge and the prices are good. Probably the best chicken teriyaki I've had at a Japanese restaurant in a while. This might be our new favorite sushi restaurant in Langley. The service is great they are very friendly. Offered my toddler some fruit for dessert, which was very much appreciated by my little one. My friend and I ate at The Chef Sushi Restaurant last night and I want to describe our visit. The first thing we observed was how incredibly clean the restaurant was. That put us at ease right away. The service was polite and attentive. But, the food was extraordinary. We ordered the chicken box. The tempura was lightly battered, the miso soup was so flavourful and everything else was prepared fresh as per our order. We found this restaurant by going to Yelp for the reviews and we were not disappointed. It will now be our go to place for sushi and we will let others know about it too. My wife and I had dinner there today it's a small unassuming restaurant very clean the chef and server where very friendly and exceptionality polite . The food was a exceptional we had Yam tempura it was super fresh and the tempura was super crispy we had a pork Gyoza cooked to perfection very tasty. They brought out a deep fried salmon as a treat it was superb . Then Susan had a bento box with a salad beef ribs served on bean sprouts 8 pieces of California roll a tiny pork cutlet some prawn tempura and a couple of vegetable tempura. It's a lot of food Susan brought some California roll home . Me I had the Gyoza , yam tempura and California roll and they brought out some carved watermelon and cantaloupe very refreshing. On a scale of one to 10 I would give Chef sushi a solid 12 the food ,service freshness all top notch I would not hesitate to recommend Chef Sushi to any one that loves Japanese food . read more
