    Mushroom soup
    Elaine S.

Went for a spontaneous dinner- menu was a throwback to the restaurants of the past- continental- featuring Italian & French style American food. We were seated right away & service was quick & that was appreciated. We both ordered the mushroom soup. It was delicious. After that we both had the fillet mignon with escargot. Very filling- I took most of mine home. My husband ate everything! The server said I guess you didn't like it because of his empty plate! The place was very busy & loud- it was a Friday night! I liked the decor- felt like we were outside which we kind of were- the restaurant has an open entrance to Wilton Drive. My only issue was the fillet was a little chewy. I should have ordered medium instead of medium rare- otherwise I enjoyed very much.

Had the loveliest dinner at Chef Nate's and it was a lovely surprise. Was in Ft. Lauderdale for work and only had few hours and for my one and only meal in the area, this place was a great choice. Our server Dereck was so friendly. This spot felt like a neighborhood bar or neighborhood restaurant and a big part of this was due to Dereck's humor and positivity. The weather was perfect the night I was here. My first time in Florida and not an ounce of humidity. Sitting outside was super enjoyable. Food and drinks were awesome. My go to drink is an extra dirty martini with blue cheese olives and they make a mean martini. The Shrimp and Scallop Penne was delicious with a generous portion of seafood. I also found the prices to be super fair here and will definitely return on my next visit. I think I'll try the prime rib next time as my buddy said it was delicious and it looked delicious.

It was a rainy night when we decided to have dinner here. A nice feature is that the front of the restaurant has an outdoor seating option, while the facade opens like a roll up garage door creating a fresh, vivid atmosphere. We sat at the bar and had a cocktail before we were seated for dinner. I ordered a cheeseburger that was cooked to perfection; medium rare topped with provolone cheese on a fresh bun and a side if french fries. My friend had a NY stripsteak prepared medium, with a delightful side of mixed vegetables. I tried a slice of the steak. It too was perfectly cooked and nicely seasoned. Our server, Billy, along with the rest of the staff was attentive and did several touchbacks at our table. This is a restaurant one can truly dine at and spend a few hours in delight.

I've enjoyed Chef Nate's culinary skills for a number of years both when he was chef at EATS and at Tropics, so I was thrilled when he took over the old Mind Yours Manors location and created a restaurant of his own. I really liked the way he's added some eye appealing décor to the place, has it really spruced up and spotlessly clean. With the COVID-19 virus still going on, the restaurant, with its garage doors front open, really turns it into a most pleasant outdoor like dining experience with plenty of breeze along with safe distance seating. As I was merely a party of one the maître d' wanted to at first seat me at the bar, but as it didn't appear the bar seating was safe distance practicing, I merely requested and was given a very nice table for two. The menu at Chef Nate's is one of the better I've seen. Indeed, it has something for every taste. For appetizers, everything from baked brie to Maryland's Chesapeake Bay style Crab Cakes to an escargot. For salads there is a good choice but some weirdness with the Caesar in that if you want anchovies, they offer three, yes, three anchovies, which are incidentally the less expensive out of the can black, rather than the white, for an extra charge of $1.25; which strikes me as being rather silly, cheap and chintzy on their part. The soups are of the of the day, a good selection of pastas including a Bolognese, varying sandwiches, poultry including a Duck Mahogany Duck, a seafood catch of the day and a good number of beef meats from which to select. For my meal I chose the smaller 10oz Prime Rib Au Jus with horseradish. When served, the meat came done to perfection, rare as ordered. However, the horseradish was the creamy out of the bottle type, not fresh or fresh ground. Overall, dining at Chef Nate's is a true delight with its top-notch professional service and good food selections.

I went to Chef Nate's soft opening the other night but did not want to review a soft opening while staff learn and work out their routines. The ambience and menu are classic but casual. Beautiful colored heirloom glassware sets adorn the shelves. We came back again a few nights later and it's a full house. We ended up sitting at the bar counter. There is a whole sheet of specialty cocktails plus others off the menu that the bartenders can make. The South Side was on point. Yum. I'll be back for happy hours. The menu is ambitious for a small place. It's mostly French bistro type fare with some Italian touches and American added in like Prime Rib au jus (entree full cuts or open face on a hoagie). Where else can you get prime rib in Wilton Manors on the Drive? Mahogany Roast Duck with Cointreau orange glaze went from good to excellent! Soup of the day Clam Chowder was tasty and jammed full of clams. Escargot en Croute in pastry puffs and the Stuffed Mushrooms caps with Andouille sausage stuffing were both delicious. Sandwiched between 2 highly rated Wilton Manors restaurants (Ethos and Bubbles & Pearls) it will be a great addition to the gayborhood on the Drive. Props to Chef Nate for opening in a pandemic. He has confidence! I think it will grow and get better and better.

5-star food, 5-star ambience, 3-star service. New bistro in the heart of Wilton Manors in the old Mind Your Manners location, with Nate from across the street at Tropics opening his own place. Terrific food with beautiful low-key ambience but somewhat slow service. As a very new place, they'll probably work the kinks out over time. The food was stellar. Caprese salad was the largest and among the best I've ever had. They did something amazing with a humble grilled chicken sandwich...it seemed to have citrus, cayenne and olive oil coatings all at the same time. Whatever it was, it was delicious and the combo worked. Ambience here is soft, warm, classy and neighborhood-y. The walls are covered with faux-boxwoods that dampen any noise. I know they're plastic because I compulsively touch any plant in a restaurant to see if it's real. It's slick and modern, but welcoming in a grandmotherly way too. Sidewalk tables and the every-day-is-Halloween vibe of Wilton Drive add to the charm. The only real drawback was the service, which was puzzlingly slow. There were a lot of staffers to handle the sizable number of customers, but the timing was off (even just the basics of getting a check to pay, as well as the speed of food prep). It's very new, so that probably will iron out over time. The staff is very friendly. Not only did Nate himself come by the table, the restaurant manager did as well. It wasn't just a perfunctory "is everything OK" but a real chat where they asked how the food, etc was, and asked for suggestions. Both bartenders give you an enthusiastic hello as well.

I also had the French onion soup 5/5, probably the best ive ever had! incredible flavor profile perfectly balanced and salted. For entrees, my husband went with a oxtail with mash dish they had on special that day 1000/5, too bad eating with your hands and licking your plate is frowned upon lol - it deserved that! I had the Pan seared branzino 2/5 - now hear me out - it was five out of five in texture, soft and buttery, and presentation BUT it was cook with SO MUCH BUTTER, that the roof of my mouth & tongue were coated in it and I couldnt tastes anything else! It was so much butter that I felt my lips, tongue and throat irritated. Additionally, im not sure why they didn't pair this dish with a mash or a roasted potatoes, instead of only cooked down spinach. THE SERVICE: Reservations are strongly encouraged - so I made mine with Resy. Through Resy, I confirmed my reservation and had it all in text & email. Upon arrival, their system didnt pull it up. However, the manager (?) was kind, gentle and gracious, sat us at a table. Our waiter was fantastic! So charismatic, and was well versed on all the dishes and how they were made. I believe she said she's been with the team a few years now. From what I understand, a sister restaurant was just opened in Miami Beach, so I hope to be able to give that one a try aswell - maybe for my birthday in two weeks?

In addition, the reservation I made for 6pm wasn't necessary as the restaurant was void of diners and mostly stayed that way. The waiter/host was very cordial. Two fillet mignons were more rare than ordered; the mashed potatoes had a strange taste, which could have been the seasonings; the pastries were dry and the Tiramisu wasn't Tiramisu.
