American steakhouse type atmosphere. Service was good. Generous martini pour and they give you the "back up"! I had the french dip, it was pretty good. The salad looked huge. The warmed carrot cake stole the show.

J Alexander's has a nice casual yet comfortably upscale vibe that I like. It's hard to tell J Alexander's is part of a chain. We've been here for birthdays, events and just to go out on weeknights with friends. Make a reservation as it's popular most evenings. The parking lot can get full. The menu has something for everyone, and the food is consistently good. Nothing spectacularly special but if you know what you like, it's the same each time. Slow Roasted Prime Rib on my last visit was as good as always, and a perfect medium rare cut as requested. It's not as flavorful as other restaurants in the area but still tastes good. I can't pass up J Alexander's Grilled Artichokes. They are delicious. Fried Calamari is also a favorite appetizer choice. Steak Maui is another of my go-to entrees. Tasty marinated rib-eye grilled to perfection! Friends enjoy the Baby Back Ribs, Pork Chops and Grilled Salmon. Salads are big and entree size. The full bar mixes mean martinis and cosmos. Wine selection is on the higher end than other business casual restaurants and serve my favorite Chalk Hill Chardonnay by the glass. Like every other aspect of the restaurant, service is consistent. Host and serving staff are friendly, attentive and pretty on-point.

J Alexander's is one of our FAVORITE restaurants to go to. We have been to several locations and the food is always good but the Fort Lauderdale location has the best service it's always top notch. We love coming here for birthdays and special occasions they sing and always make everyone feel special on their birthdays or on their special day. The food is always great as well - we have never had a bad meal here - every dish we have ordered has been yummy and delicious. The steaks here are kind of pricey but worth every penny, when you just want a nice simple steak that's perfectly cooked how you like it, this is the place to go. Some of our favorite dishes are the French dip sandwich served with fries and the fried chicken believe it or not is absolutely amazing here as well. They have some of the best fries as well that we have ever tried they are so good. For desert I highly recommend the key lime pie or the carrot cake that's served warm that's covered in icing it's the best way to end a great meal here. Truly though, no matter what you get it's always going to be delicious this is a great restaurant to go to!

We had a nice family dinner at J Alexander's. We were seated at a semi circular booth which made it easy to talk with a large group. The atmosphere is beautiful, with big wood beams in the ceiling, a large open dining room, and nice lighting. Everyone liked their entree. The standouts were the fried shrimp, seared ahi tuna, and the salmon. Our server was amazing, and we had a lot of fun chatting with him. I think he had fun too! J Alexander is nice for both a romantic date or a family or group dinner.

Back for another birthday lunch. The celebrant is older and wanted to sit on the top level for less noise. Having been in the biz I could see the hostess figuring his request out. I surmised that the server stations were assigned and this area wasn't open but of course he got his table. And luckily our server was the lovely and efficient Tyra. She was just awesome. My dining companions had their usual salads while I decided on the French Dip, lean please. Tyra suggested mac + cheese and honestly it's THE BEST I've eaten. What arrived was perfect. Tender, medium, dippable and scrumptious. And to top it off, a complimentary slice of award winning carrot cake! Excellent as usual.

Love the dark heavy wood beams with the steel spikes that support the ceiling creating an industrial theme. The open kitchen concept is open for viewing by every customer as they enter the main doors. The bar is isolated at one side of the restaurant although it's lit up nicely and the boards affixed next to the liquor bottles with the cocktail description with prices printed in white chalk is a unique touch. Ordered the crab dip with toasted garlic sour dough as an appetizer. My entree was a medium-well ribeye burger topped with white sauteed onions and a massive pile (see pic) of thin crispy fries. The burger was cooked perfectly and juicy. The manager greeted us upon entry and the server was attentive. FYI: This is not a discount eatery. Lunch for three people may run in excess of $125.00 without cocktails. The bathroom was modern and clean with a private bathroom stall, two sinks and two urinals.

Feb 2026, or Server Dakota was fabulous, he took great care of our table, and I made sure the Manger knew that Dakota was fabulous. OMG! The food was delicious. The Prime Rib (medium rare) was cooked to perfection. My other friend ordered the Shrimp dinner, and she enjoyed every bite, and the Shoe String Fries. We ended with coffee that was freshly made and delicious and a warm Carrot Cake that was to die for especially the foresting. All and all, we will definitely come back here for dinner.

The customer service was great from the minute we walked in. We went on a busy night with no reservation and were seated very quickly. Our wonderful server even allowed us to sample a few items before we fully committed. This was a blessing in disguise because we did not like it. She was also very accommodating to the kids. The mac&cheese was definitely top 10 restaurant mac&cheese. The steak was also amazing. Overall, this is a great date night spot. We would definitely visit again.

First time visiting J. Alexander's & it was excellent! The food was sooo good and the service was fantastic. Everything came out perfectly and pretty quick considering the amount of food we ordered. I really enjoyed the ambiance. Even though the restaurant was packed, it was still quiet enough to have a conversation with everyone in my party. Parking was also much better than I expected. Plenty of spaces. The food was EXCELLENT! I had the steak burger and was a little apprehensive because the waiter let me know if couldn't be cooked below medium temp and I usually order medium-rare, however it was so tasty and juicy! Would definitely recommend to any burger lover.

The rustic decor and the cooking sounds from the open kitchen is different from most restaurants. The crab dip app was excellent with my fruity sangria and the French dip shaved sandwich was juicy and wanted more even though I was full. The server kept her eye on us throughout the stay and rarely had to request her assistance. My mother ordered the NY Strip steak was covered with French fries. I took a bite of the steak which was juicy and cooked perfectly.

Like "let's take pictures before we eat because this patio belongs in a lifestyle magazine" gorgeous. Las Olas energy at its finest. The outdoor seating is fantastic, the atmosphere feels upscale without being stuffy, and honestly, the food was outstanding. Which is why this hurts. We came for Mother's Day brunch and intentionally avoided rushing over for happy hour pricing because we wanted a relaxed meal. Adult decision. Responsible. Mature. Mistake number one apparently. Started with the charred corn and avocado dip and I need whoever created that dish to be recognized with some sort of civic award. Ridiculously good. One of those appetizers where you immediately start calculating whether licking the bowl in public is socially acceptable. Then came the steak and eggs discussion. My wife and I were both looking at the steak and eggs listed on the menu for $26.75. Our waiter explained that the standard steak was only four ounces and casually suggested upgrading to a six ounce or eight ounce cut instead. Now listen carefully because this is where the plot twists into a financial thriller. At no point during this conversation was pricing for the upgrade mentioned. And shame on me for not asking. That part is absolutely on me. But the suggestion was delivered with the same casual energy as "would you like fries with that?" So I upgraded to the eight ounce. My wife went with the six ounce. She also had a margarita she loved. We skipped dessert because we were stuffed and, as it turns out, accidentally entering a luxury cattle futures market. Then the handheld payment machine arrived. $175. I stared at that screen like it had just informed me my mortgage was due immediately. Turns out those extra six ounces of sirloin between the two plates carried an upcharge that could finance a small fishing boat. Roughly ten dollars an ounce for the upgrade. Somewhere, a Wagyu cow laughed at me from a distance. And look, before anybody jumps in, yes... I should have asked. Lesson learned. But restaurants also know exactly what they're doing when upgrade pricing gets floated around casually without numbers attached. There's a difference between upselling and a sneak attack. Which makes this review frustrating because I genuinely loved almost everything else. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was fantastic. Service was friendly. But nothing tanks the ending of a brunch quite like feeling blindsided by steak math. Pro tip for future diners: If they suggest the upgraded steak, ask the price immediately. Ask twice. Possibly get it notarized. Three stars because I really do want to come back someday. But right now I still feel like I got hit with a reverse happy hour.

We were coming from Hallandale, we had an 8pm reservation got seated around 815 which wasn't too bad. We were sat in a dimmer quieter section away which I really appreciate since our 1 year old was sleeping giving us the perfect date-night setting. Unfortunately the last time we been to Shooters was Valentine's Day 2025. We weren't aware that the menu had been changed since our last time dining which was rather unfortunate since the two entrees (seared brown butter scallops & shrimp and grilled soy-ginger glazed salmon) we came for were changed on the menu. We ended up getting the soy glazed salmon and scallops & prawns which unfortunately we did not enjoy at all. Even the sides were different previously you could just get a side of Mac now you can only get a side of truffle Mac? The grilled soy ginger salmon was on a bed of veggies (bok choy, Napa cabbage, onions, peppers) the one that's currently on the menu was basically on two inedible pieces of bok choy and a bed of rice I couldn't even break and chew the bok choy. Our server Ava was very attentive and sweet even gave a beautiful little treat for a birthday dessert ( not a chocolate fan but her energy made the dessert amazing ). After we paid our check we asked Ava for a manager and did specify that it was regarding the food more and not her service. I didn't catch the name of the manager we spoke to but her response to us simply questioning the menu change was she's not the culinary director or something along those lines but she would still hear our feedback. She just had such an I don't care attitude about it in my opinion and had I not had a few drinks in my system, trying to enjoy my time out with my family and birthday I would've let her know her attitude regarding it just was unnecessary. We unfortunately agreed to find a new go-to restaurant to celebrate our special occasions since so much has changed. Thank you so much to Ava for making our visit worth it! Didn't get pictures of the salmon, scallops, drinks or oysters that we got but I did get the fish dip and the dessert. Edited to add pictures from one of our previous visits

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere set the perfect tone for the evening spacious and quiet enough for real conversation, with lighting that is absolutely on point. The Experience Our server, Logan, was exceptional. His recommendations were spot-on, and his attention to detail made us feel truly taken care of throughout the night. It is rare to find service that is this professional yet genuinely warm. The Food Everything we tasted was outstanding, cementing its place as one of the best steakhouses in Miami. We started with the sourdough bread and the tuna tartare which had a perfect spicy touch that woke up the palate. For the main event, the Tomahawk 23oz (perfect for a couple) was a revelation. It was cooked to perfection incredibly juicy with a smoky, slightly crispy exterior. The combination of the volcano salt and their signature tomato sauce on the side elevated the flavor to another level. The sides did not disappoint, either: Lobster Mac and Cheese: Hands down the best I've ever had. Baked Potato: Soft, cheesy, and the ultimate comfort food. Salad: Fresh and a nice accompaniment, though the steak and sides are the true stars. The Grand Finale We ended the night with the chocolate cake. It was rich, delicious, and so massive that we were able to enjoy it the next day (and honestly, the flavor was even better the morning after!). My husband and I enjoyed every single bite. If you are looking for a high-end dining experience in Coral Gables that delivers on both flavor and ambiance, Daniel's is the place to be. We will definitely be back!

It was one of the best I've ever had, with a perfect Pittsburgh char. The beef was from the DemKota supplier, which I had never heard of. But, a quick Google let me know it is one of the most exclusive and best of meat suppliers. Not many restaurants openly let you know where or from whom they purchase their meats. That is probably for good reasons as you may find out you are eating the same quality of meat from the same supplier to Pubiix, or worse. What I didn't like about Daniel's is that they don't respect reservations. We had reservations but got that old "why don't you have a seat at the bar" routine. So we sat, sat and sat at the bar for so long we finally gave up and ordered our meals at the bar. Also, the noise level. I was downright excruciating. We couldn't even have a conversation. So, though Daniel's steakhouse food is five starts, their ambience and comfort level is only a miserable lowly one star; hence my overall rating is three Yelp stars
