Beef brisket sandwich and Caesar salad
Violet P.

We came for dinner before 6PM on a weeknight and were seated near the back of the restaurant. Within about 15 minutes, there was a few more guests that occupied tables. I ordered the smoked beef brisket dip with spicy mayo, dipping gravy, and a Caesar salad. It took a bit of time as my tablemate ordered a steak. The sandwich was served on a pretzel baguette which was different and better than a regular bun. I was looking forward to smoky brisket taste but the spicy mayo overpowered and it was more spicy than smoky. I would have before another dipping sauce instead of gravy as I think it was too heavy and not really necessary with the spicy mayo. The salad was good and I liked that more than the sandwich but you can't really go wrong with a Caesar salad as long as they don't soak it with dressing. Service was friendly throughout our meal. Would come again if I was in the area but try another sandwich or entree.

The cocktails are always good here, they've definitely worked on the presentation of their dishes! I loved the flavours of this burger, rich and flavourful beef and the fries were a perfect accompaniment. The service was attentive, I sat in the lounge side this time and my drink was promptly filled (and refilled) my food arrived faster than I anticipated, but as it was a little early in the dinner rush I wasn't complaining. The ambiance on the lounge side is a bit livelier than the restaurant side, sports were on the tube, music thrummed from speakers overhead, definitely going back to enjoy more of their wonderful fare.

Great local pub. Stayed to watch hockey playoffs and grabbed burgers and too many beverages. Good but not as tasty as had hoped. Staying nearby so we'll try another meal there. Staff is friendly but we're a bit overloaded with orders. Nice to see and always try to support local!

Was a chef n burger

I would have took a picture but I smashed the burger. The Chef N burger with Smokey maple mayo may have been one of the best burgers I've ever had. We pulled in here on accident and now I have the location saved in my maps. We will definitely be coming back!! Food was fast and the staff was awesome!!! Highly recommend!

The wife and I celebrated our one year anniversary in Pigeon Lake, Chef N's is always our first stop on our visit here! Our Server Tara had an awesome personality and was very welcoming. The food is to die for! We tried the Warm Boursin for the first time, our first dip with that soft bread was like heaven! The wings are always our go to appetizer when we come and they were delicious! I had the classic Fish and Chips, the fish was crispy and cooked to perfection and the fries, veggies and slaw were Awesome! The wife said the chicken Caesar salad was delicious and the grilled chicken was perfect! Another Great Meal from Chef N! Highly recommended! See ya next visit!

So, every year when we go to Pigeon Lake we always go to the Eco Café. It has a lot of fanfare and we have always had good service here. I didn't even know that there was another major restaurant there, until we drove from Edmonton and found out it is closed Mondays. (Their Facebook page was not updated), so luckily for us this place was open. I was not so convinced about it because I had my heart set on the other place, but I am so glad I gave it a try. The food was so delicious. And the service was good too. Their patio is lovely. And because of COVID we had it basically to ourselves. I ordered the beef dip with Cesar salad and my husband ordered the BBQ firecracker burger with fries. Our little one ordered fries. Food was delicious. And I found about 10 other things on the menu that I could try and enjoy. The beef dip was delicious with smoked brisket beef that melted in your mouth and the house made gravy was perfect for dipping. The Caesar salad was as amazing as the sandwich. Loved the garlic dressing on it. My husband said the burger was one of the best he has had in a long time. The beef was fantastic in it, and the condiments really added to the meal. And my daughter gobbled her fries. Great job! We will be back again!

Chef N' Pigeon Lake is about a ten minute drive from where I live, it seemed like it was about time I came to try the place out. I came here on a Monday evening with my dad and sister, looking for a quick meal before both had departure flights in the morning. Having grown up around the village at Pigeon Lake we were all happy to see a number of customers in the village around 6 pm on a week night. Chef N' has both a lounge and a restaurant area, we were attending to quickly when we arrived, choosing to sit in the restaurant with a choice between a table or a booth - we chose a booth. There were a few couples seated between the lounge and the restaurant but, the place definitely wasn't packed. As we sat down our server promptly asked us what we wanted to drink, while I appreciated her eagerness, a chance to look over the drink menu is usually preferred before ordering, however not a big deal. We went on to decide our order, the menu proclaims to be "uptown country", I couldn't quite determine was this was meant to entail, however the menu did include a variety of items. The restaurant is known to have great smoked meat, so I opted for the peppered steak salad. Our server was quick to return with our drinks and ready to take our order, we started with the bruschetta with the baguette, and ordered our mains once the appetizer had arrived. The bruschetta was served disassembled, a different approach than usual, we concluded it was possibly to avoid any sogginess of the bread. It was delicious- hard to do wrong with bruschetta. Our server remained fairly attentive, and our mains followed shortly after our appetizer was cleared. The peppered steak salad was served over a bed of mixed greens, with red onion, chopped peppers, and green olives, tossed in a house vinaigrette. I tend to avoid ordering salads, due to their simplicity and easiness to recreate, however I was eager to try the steak (cooked to medium). Overall, the salad was nothing to get too excited about, in the future I will remember to order dressing on the side as it was a bit heavy for me. However the steak was delicious, perfectly cooked, seasoned well, and very tender. It exceeded expectations. I would recommend choosing a steak off the menu and skipping the salad, the meat is definitely the star of the show here. Unfortunately our service declined quite significantly after we received our mains. We were interested in sharing dessert and decided on a phyllo pastry apple pie baked to order. Almost 10 minutes after our meal our server hadn't returned and we had started to waiver on the dessert. Eventually she did return and we ordered our dessert, we anticipated a decent wait for it to be ready, but our patience were limited after waiting already, as we were now the only table in the restaurant. The dessert was enjoyable, fairly standard apple pie and ice cream- again something pretty hard to screw up. We asked our server for our bill immediately after she brought the dessert. However she did not bring the bill and by the time we were ready to leave she hadn't returned. We went up to the front of the restaurant and eventually had to approach the back of the restaurant to get her attention. Overall, the loss of service gave us a somewhat disappointing experience. The prices were a bit high, but not unreasonable for dinner time. The meat was delicious and the meals were good quality all together. Chef N' is a great place to stop by in the summer if you're visiting or passing through the Pigeon Lake area, or even in the winter if you're around. I will likely eat here again in the future and hopefully get to enjoy the restaurant with improved service.

Massive ceasar salad

Surprised by how delicious and affordable all the dishes were here. We must have been hungry having spent the day at the spa as we ordered their ceasar salad, the fried honey lime Brussels sprouts and this massive order of 4 ribs that came with Parmesan fries and veggies! Most definitely lots of food. We loved how the salad came with chunks of Parmesan! The Brussels sprouts were super delish and fried to perfection. It was a great place to come for dinner. Our only regret was that we were too full for dessert!

Baseball steak with garlic mash and caesar salad

Arrived in Pigeon Lake to help my long time friend reshingle part of his aging cabin. As a reward for my labour, on top of many beers and laughs too, he brought me to Chef'N. He has dined here several times and swore it was very good if not excellent. Since I wasn't buying, I was in! Arrived in the village just off the highway. Right away I was surprised by the modern-looking strip mall configuration with boardwalks and quaint looking shops. As we approached our destination, it was clear this was not going to be a "Joe's Diner" not to say Joe's Diners are bad. There is a nice patio with a glass garage door that opens between the lounge and patio making the interior very bright and airy. There is a restaurant side as well if you are bringing your yard apes.We sat in the lounge at a high top table. The spot was busy and I was now anticipating a great meal. Our server got us going with drinks and menus. She may have been a little overwhelmed by the crowd. The first round went down quickly and it took some effort to get her attention for a second and to order our meals. Turned out that she was the Chef's mom! Well, can't be bad mouthing someone's mom, but she could use some help son! Orders were placed. I went for the baseball steak with mash and gravy as did my host. The menu had a nice variety of meal choices. Typical I guess for this kind of a spot where there is a varied clientele. Meals arrived after a bit of a wait, but it was worth it. Presentation was appealing and portion was a good size. My steak was cooked perfectly. All in, a great meal in a nice atmosphere! Too bad this excellent spot is so far from Calgary. Have to wait until next summer to try again! If you are from the area and reading this, you are lucky to have this gem to yourselves!

Nice restaurant. It has a lounge with front patio and a restaurant with back patio. Grilled chicken burger with garden salad was excellent. Beer on tap. Helpful servers. Menu is a little expensive. A good alternative to the Ecco cafe.

It was also my sister's birthday (her daughter) so we explained she was in no shape to be taken out of the hospital, but that we'd 'bring East Side Marios to you'. We called the restaurant and explained the situation and asked what they would do to help make the meal in her room as authentic as possible and whether they could give us a menu so she can feel like she was there. The manager obliged, saying he'd certainly do that. They delivered everything for us including two menus(incl. drinks menu). We played beautiful Italian music and had a fantastic time, even though she could only take a few nibbles of it. Thank you, ESM's. You helped to make this a special day for my mom. May your business be prosperous and blessed fully

It was a very quiet night. Only 1 large table aside from our party of 4. But was impressed. Been many times and service was good. Perhaps a solid 3-4 stars. But tonight pushed me to a 5. I wish I got the name of the guy helping us. Food was really good as usual.

DO NOT kid yourselves, this is high quality dining at local, reasonable prices. We ordered the herbed chicken and a half rack of ribs and the spicy garlic butter prawns. We asked our fantastic server if the chef could split our order into 2 plates. She runs away and comes back in 2 minutes saying the chef would love to do that for us. Awesome! We're happy. I just kind of expected 2 bar style plates with our food lumped onto it. OMG! Was I blown away! The plating was what you would expect in a high end restaurant, not a Bar and Grill! The Keg, Chop, etc, beware. This hot new Steakhouse just might have your number. Our chicken was cooked to perfection, while being one of the juiciest chicken dishes I've ever had. The only thing keeping the chicken together was the perfect Grill marks! I'm saying this was superior chef skills. Veggies, perfectly grilled and just a touch crunchy. Perfect! Mashed potatoes, were amazing. Perfect garlic flavor. Just a touch on the cool side, so that's my only critique. However the hot gravy on the side solved that pretty quick. The prawns were still hot, perfect texture and the spice was exactly what it promised, spicy and garlic, without being too spicy. Brought out the depths of the sweetness of the prawns beautifully. Ribs! I almost forgot the ribs. Lol. Juicy, very well cooked with a nice sweet BBQ sauce. A touch fatty, but I like mine well done and forgot to ask. Otherwise, amazing. Dessert, White Chocolate Brownie. Sadly it fell victim to our spoons as soon as it hit the table, but I managed 2 pictures before it's demise. Think of a brownie, then add coconut, then add ice cream, with a pinch of WTF was that awesomeness and multiply that by 100! With an expertly drizzled combination of chocolate and white chocolate sauce on the plate. I wish you could have eaten it! All in all, absolutely, 100%, recommend this place to anyone looking for an amazing meal. Hands down, you will not be disappointed.
