This place has amazing reviews, but I normally don't see a lot of cars in the parking lot. We decided to stop in anyway and we were blown away. Everything was phenomenal. The chicken saagwala was outstanding. We also had lamb vindaloo, garlic naan, chicken tandoori, plus some appetizers I've never seen before. It was all tasty and we didn't have a single bad item. My son and I enjoy Indian food very well but never had Nepal 'S cuisine. The service was attentive. The restaurant has a Spaniard feel with some Nepalian art. I ordered a chicken platter that had small dishes with sauces but I was missing the spiciness of Indian food so I asked for hot sauce. A few minutes later the waiter brings me minced jalapeño? Not at all what I expected. Other places make a cilantro based spicy sauce but never was given minced plain jalapeño. Again never had Nepal food so it could be that it is blander than Indian food. Came here twice now as I was pleasantly impressed the first time. Between the two visits I tried the chicken biryani, chili chicken mono, chicken jhoi momo, thali (both times). If you have never had thali before please get it, it's like tapas for Indian food? Comes with papadum like bread and naan. They have vegetarian version or other, very tasty and helpful to get an idea of the flavor. The momo were both interesting and obviously something I liked so I tried it again. That's the Nepali part of the restaurant. And lastly chicken biryani was good, nothing I could complain about. We just moved to the area and have been looking for excellent Indian food. I think our search stops here. We've been here twice now. Everything is spectacular here, especially the flavors. The Chicken Shahi Korma, vegetable samosa, and butter chicken are all standouts. And the naan here is the best we've ever had. The flavor and texture is amazing. My crew decided to try "Indian" food. We were the only ones in the restaurant for lunch March 6, and only one worker was present. The place was as cold inside as it was outside, and the staffer only brought out a little heater when we were nearly finished our meal. I hadn't had goat since 1984 in a Mexican restaurant, so I chose the Goat Curry; what came were about 4 or 5 little chunks in a dark sauce with about 8 bones. It seemed a small portion with no sides for $19.99. One man ordered the shrimp curry, which also came with no sides, so I ordered a vegetable Biriyani to share ($17.99) which was mostly sauce. However the "General T.S.O." another man ordered was like the Chinese, but with a Tandoori sauce, with a good amount of meat. read more

Had dinner with husband last night. Started with the chicken chili momos (mild because I'm a wimp) at the waitress's suggestion. They were very good. I had the coconut lamb curry and he had the shrimp biriyani. We also had the garlic naan. Was able to make reservations through Google assistant easily. We were seated promptly, staff was very friendly and attentive. If you are unsure about trying Indian food they are great about explaining and suggesting menu items. Very fresh, very flavorful. When I called them to question this I was told "delivery orders are smaller than orders in the restaurant because of the containers". I checked and the delivery prices are higher than in house, yet you get smaller(much smaller) portions because they don't get proper containers. Also, they hide the fact that Blue Earth and Chef Llama are the same place. read more

We loved the food. It is very mildly spiced and reminds me of home food. We ordered veggie Momos , Nepali Bhel Chat and Vegetarian Thali. Try one of the Gosht Ke Pakwan dishes which provides a sampling of a protein (smaller sized) with veggies, rice, and naan as well as papadum (cracker like bread). It comes standard with gulab Jamun (think of a donut munchkin drowned in syrup) which I subbed for kheer (rice pudding). Tasty and also spicy menu items (based on your palette). Wow! Fabulous place we found while shopping in York County. We've hit quite a few Indian restaurants in Lancaster and York but Chef Lama won hands down. Very clean throughout, including dishes, menus, utensils, floors, tablecloths and restrooms. Service was fast and friendly. I got the chicken tandoori with a side of raita and another order of garlic naan. The chicken was fat with lots of juicy meat seasoned perfectly. The naan was exceptional and loaded with garlic. I was also served 2 sauces, one sweet, one spicy and were both delicious. My husband got the Nepali Thali which had several items in small bowls, naan and crispy bread. We love & adore Chef Lamas! The service can be a little off sometimes but overall we've not had any major issues. Their Chana Masala is the best I've ever had, as are the veggie momos. I really love that there are tons of vegan dishes to choose from and everything is clearly marked. I also like that the rice is safe, as most restaurants add ghee which makes it not vegan. My daughter is addicted to the chicken Kadai, but my husband loves the Chana Masala the most also. We usually go for medium spicy and it's always perfect. The inside of the restaurant is simply decorated and always clean. We used to come in a lot more but with the prices of things we've cut back on dining out significantly. The woman who works there still remembers us and usually puts us at the same table each time.
