I normally always love Indian food but something about each dish was off. We got the Kodi vopidu (chicken stir fry) based on some prior Yelp reviews. It was ok but not super flavorful or impressive. Was not really a fan of the veggie korma--it was full of spices but not as creamy as I'm used to. The texture was almost grainy? The portions were a bit small as well for the price. My husband did get a lentil dish (not sure which one) which was the best out of the tree we ordered. Overall we were disappointed as Nalan had a very high Yelp rating (probably because of its nicer interior--cute wall with a word cloud of food) but the food itself was underwhelming. There are multiple Indian and Nepali restaurants on the east shore we liked better.

Cocktails here are seriously well done, a great range to choose from. The mango lassi stood out too, topped with a little rose made of rose syrup, such a thoughtful detail. The appetizers were excellent and set the tone for the meal. For mains, the peanut curry and soft garlic naan were incredible, honestly on par with the best Indian food you'll find in any big city. Indian food with a playful fusion twist. And then dessert. The gulab jamun was great, but the red velvet cake with homemade ice cream stole the show, rich, perfectly balanced, and unforgettable.

Coming here for four years, you see multi generational, Indian families, eating here, which is a testimony to its authenticity. The owner (see the picture) is Indian, and recently celebrated getting his green card. He and his staff give phenomenal service. Every time we come, the restaurant is very family-friendly. On another note, this is literally the best Indian food I've ever had, having eaten Indian food all across the US. You can't go wrong with eating here! What's even better is that they now have a buffet on the weekends, which is a fraction of the price, and just tasty! Strongly recommend!

Mango lassi- full of food coloring and the cardamom flavor is so overpowering! You literally cannot even taste any mango. Idk why this lassi was orange bc mango lassi is usually yellow. Naan- literally pre made Costco naan. Not even fresh or in house made. And they're charging $3-$4 for one piece?! Bollywood Platter Appetizers- pakoras are just batter with orange food coloring. The chicken pakora was freezer burn chciken dipped in besan batter. Dumplings were probably the only thing my husband said was edible. Samosa was also below average- literally taste like the frozen ones from the Indian grocery store. So if they is also pre made Costco samosas I wouldn't be surprised. Butter chicken- the worst! Again. I don't understand why you need to use so much orange food coloring. Bland gravy. No salt, the cardamon flavor was so overpowering that it was not edible. Food was around $37-$40. Over priced horrible "Indian food". I even requested the gentleman who took my order to make it desi style so if this is desi style then idk what their regular food taste like. I have tried so many Indian restaurants around central pa and this was by far the WORST. If you want good AUTHENTIC Indian food go to Banana Leaf in Mechanicsburg. I really want to support local businesses near me but if my money is getting wasted like this I will not support them. Never coming back.

Proprietor was really nice about letting us know about their allergens when I asked since one of us is allergic to tree nuts (they don't use any nuts at all, including peanut and coconut). He was also super nice about not charging me for extra sauce even though it's listed as an extra charge on the menu; all the prices are pretty fantastic. My whole order was under $11. About the only complaint I have so far is that there were no paper towels in the bathroom. I got the dal makhni special with two roti, and it arrived in under 10 minutes. It had a really nice spiced flavor and was perfectly hot (temperature- and spice-wise; it's worth noting that I seem to have a notably higher spice tolerance that others, since one of my friends also got this and found it too spicy. Maybe get some yogurt sauce or a lassi). Sauces were really good as well. All in all, no notes, had a fantastic experience; I need to come back to try the samosa chaat bowl.

I was in the party of 6 that was served before her. While I agree the service was not up to its usual, this is no way to behave, ruining all the diners nights and traumatizing multiple individuals and leaving parents having to explain to their child how this was not an appropriate response.
