The Humboldt fog cheese in the meat and cheese board was outstanding and I still dream about the pickled grapes. The main courses were exactly what they said and beyond delicious. What an incredible experience we had with Chef Adair! I was searching for a great private chef to cater dinner for my mum's 50th birthday at the house we were renting in Sonoma. As I always do when searching for a vendor or service, I narrowed it down to the three best and contacted them all. From the start, Chef Adair separated himself from the others with his warm, friendly communication. Pair that with the great reviews and delicious menus on his website, and we were sold! I worked with Chef Adair on the perfect set up for our small group of 7 and exactly what we were looking for. He made great suggestions and was ready to take care of everything we needed. As time moved on, we worked on creating the perfect menu for the evening (incorporating a number of picky eaters' palates!) Chef Adar was more than accommodating (even down to cooking the meat perfectly to temp for each person at the table despite it being a single piece of meat that should have been one temp - thank you!!) On the day of the event, Chef Adair showed up with his sous chef at around 5pm to start prepping for a first course at 7:30pm. He was so well prepared and brought everything with him so that he wouldn't be caught short if the kitchen was missing something. This was definitely a well oiled machine, nothing was left to chance. As we relaxed in the garden, we began to smell the most delicious scents coming from the kitchen as Chef prepared the meal - we were so excited! Chef Adair had a server come at 6:30pm who set the table and began pouring wine for the guests. When we sat down for dinner, we were not disappointed! Each course was seasoned and cooked to perfection and Chef Adair took the time to describe exactly what we were about to eat. All four courses were delicious (I am getting hungry just thinking about it all again!) and all of the guests were full and happy by the end. We had ordered our own birthday cake, but Chef Adair cut it for us and served us as the final course. Aside from being a great chef, Chef Adair truly seemed to be enjoying himself and his fun loving spirit was infectious and kept us all smiling and laughing. After dinner, Chef Adair and his team cleaned up the kitchen and left it even cleaner than when they had started!!
