We had an afternoon birthday party for 57 people on Aug. 29, and the food was served family style to 7 tables. The quality of the food was outstanding, but the service was not. The food was supposed to be served in courses, with replenishment when needed. Instead all the food was served at one time, and the lamb chops and filet mignon were only slightly more than luke warm. When several tables asked for more lamb chops, they were told they were all gone, and one guest did not get even one lamb chop. Yet there were lamb chops available on other tables and at least 20 were taken back to Cotati. If the food was served in courses, it could have been served hot. If your service is family style, be sure that you insist that left over food be left on premises. Ours was not and we were told it was thrown away. After several messages to the owner, it turns out the left-overs were put into a refrigerator in Cotati. We went down the next day to retrieve them, and found there was quite a bit left over. read more

Chef Adair and team did a wonderful job for my son's wedding at Beringer Vineyards. We did a food tasting before the wedding at Chef Adairs commercial kitchen which I highly recommend. Katherine was amazing! She helped with tables, linens, glassware, umbrellas, cake, and so much more we needed for wedding day. Her communication and timely emails throughout the entire process was incredible. Everything she chose for the wedding set up was exactly what the bride and groom wanted and she was very flexible. Chef Adair created a menu that was perfect and we had numerous guest tell us how delicious the food was. The dinner was served family style and when some tables asked for more the servers were more than happy to bring more to the table. Their staff was very professional and also did an incredible job keeping up with all the transitions from cocktail hour, dinner, cake and coffee. They were very pleasant and helpful throughout. They worked with us throughout the entire process and made sure that the stress on us during the process was limited. Overall using Chef Adair to cater our wedding reception was a positive experience. Especially since we used them without ever tasting their food! We chose the drop-off option as we were trying to keep our budget as low as possible, which they were quite agreeable with and the food was of good quality. The only issue was a change in the delivery time (which was initiated by them) to an earlier time on the day of the event which caused us to have them deliver the food cold rather than pre-heated - since it was going to be 2 hours before the start of the event. I'll say this added to my already high stress levels but luckily I had people that were ready to help with heating and setup. Another thing I'll mention is we relied on their expertise with how much of each dish to supply. One thing that guests mentioned is that there wasn't near enough of the prawns. Additionally there was a ton of bread and Coq Au Vin left over. Again, this was Overall a good experience and I would recommend them to a friend. What an incredible experience we had with Chef Adair! I was searching for a great private chef to cater dinner for my mum's 50th birthday at the house we were renting in Sonoma. As I always do when searching for a vendor or service, I narrowed it down to the three best and contacted them all. From the start, Chef Adair separated himself from the others with his warm, friendly communication. Pair that with the great reviews and delicious menus on his website, and we were sold! I worked with Chef Adair on the perfect set up for our small group of 7 and exactly what we were looking for. He made great suggestions and was ready to take care of everything we needed. As time moved on, we worked on creating the perfect menu for the evening (incorporating a number of picky eaters' palates!) Chef Adar was more than accommodating (even down to cooking the meat perfectly to temp for each person at the table despite it being a single piece of meat that should have been one temp - thank you!!) On the day of the event, Chef Adair showed up with his sous chef at around 5pm to start prepping for a first course at 7:30pm. He was so well prepared and brought everything with him so that he wouldn't be caught short if the kitchen was missing something. This was definitely a well oiled machine, nothing was left to chance. As we relaxed in the garden, we began to smell the most delicious scents coming from the kitchen as Chef prepared the meal - we were so excited! Chef Adair had a server come at 6:30pm who set the table and began pouring wine for the guests. When we sat down for dinner, we were not disappointed! Each course was seasoned and cooked to perfection and Chef Adair took the time to describe exactly what we were about to eat. All four courses were delicious (I am getting hungry just thinking about it all again!) and all of the guests were full and happy by the end. We had ordered our own birthday cake, but Chef Adair cut it for us and served us as the final course. Aside from being a great chef, Chef Adair truly seemed to be enjoying himself and his fun loving spirit was infectious and kept us all smiling and laughing. After dinner, Chef Adair and his team cleaned up the kitchen and left it even cleaner than when they had started!!
