Having passed by often, a friend and I decided we'd give the place a shot. Fearful that it would be too expensive, or not filling, we were pleasantly surprised not only find it affordable and decievingly filling. To top it off, the gentleman from Mines provided us with the best service we have ever had in our LIVES. He was enthusiastic about his job, very knowledgable about everything, was so kind, as a college student on a low budget, I was still upset that I didn't have any extra dollars or a five to tip him. Both a cheese shop and a great place to get a sandwich. They have a good selection of cheeses to go and some options for meat and cheese selections you could take as a hostess gift or if entertaining. The toasted sandwiches take a little while but are definitely worth the wait. Try the roast beef and cheddar, preferably when no one is looking because I made a huge mess. I'm hoping once they are open for a little while they can expand both their cheese selection and sandwich menu. I will say that I've heard the owner is really helpful with recommendations on cheeses. I haven't met him yet and noticed that all the times I've been in there, no one offered help when I was trying to pick out a cheese the display. read more

Went here for the first time today and it was truly a great experience. The staff were beyond friendly and the food was delicious. Probably the best panini I've ever had! I cannot say enough good things about the Cheese Ranch. Yesterday, I called the Cheese Ranch asking if they sell Charcuterie boards and they said they did not have any made at the moment but had no problem making one for me last minute. They went above and beyond the expectation and made me a wonderful assortment of fresh cheeses and meats in a short period of time. Was a rainy day in Golden Co. and boy am I happy to have found this little whole in the wall to brighten my day. Stopped in for lunch and tried the grill cheese of the day; which consisted of a very creamy high quality jack cheese, with chives, dill and a spread on sour dough bread. (I considered buying the cheese and will probably be back just so I could try to replicate at home) there are a wide variety of high quality cheeses and meats at this deli that appear to be reasonably priced. My meal was also accompanied with a homemade locally grown vegetable soup; so delicious! read more

This is a wonderful little hole in the wall. I got a fresh cut sandwich that was delicious and it came with either pickles or chips. They also carry different types of pickles, salsa and such that you can buy. Perfect place to grab lunch before the Coor's tour! I had a hot pastrami and cheese sandwich, which was delicious, as well as tomato and roasted red pepper soup, which was the real star of the meal. The deli case had a huge variety of cheeses (as the name suggests), and I'd love to come back to sample many of them. Stopped here because the sign is on the road and so glad we did. I got the strami which was delicious and my wife got the turkey pesto sandwich, I think it's called the National Bird which she really liked. We would definitely recommend this place. I have always had wonderful experiences at Cheese Ranch! Their food is always flavorful and fresh, they have great variety, and the decor is cute and inviting. This is a huge disappointment. I just went here for lunch and was extremely unimpressed. The menu doesn't clarify what comes on the sandwich, all the choices are described as "meat, cheese, and stuff." You cant even choose what meat or cheese you want. It's just a surprise. My "natural bird" sandwich came with 2 slices of grocery bought bread, 2 tiny slices of average deli turkey, one small slice of Swiss, and the smallest amount of pesto. That was $8, with no lettuce, tomato, onion, mustard, or anything at all. The only good thing about this place was the selection of cheese behind the counter that you can buy per pound. If you want a cafeteria style sandwich more basic than your mom made you in elementary school, this is your place. Sorry to be so harsh, but I was truly shocked at how bad this was. read more

Pretty average. I went there because a friend told me they had a Cuban Sandwich. I got there around noon and ordered one. A few minutes later they told me they were out of pork, a key ingredient. I was bummed. I ordered a pastrami sandwich and it took a while for them to make it, even though there was nobody else in the store. It was just ok. This deli is amazing! So happy to have a "real" deli in Golden now. We ordered two sandwiches. They both can with fruit or chips and the price was very reasonable. My hubby had the Italian and it was absolutely delicious. I had the turkey and pesto sandwich which was also extremely good but I would have enjoyed more meat and cheese on there. It was slightly sparse. The patio area was very nice as well. Overall, I will definitely return! read more

Lovely little deli with the sweetest most gracious owner and host. Stopped by today after a hike on Lookout Mountain with our two little ones, and they couldn't have been nicer. Yummy sandwiches, great cheese (we got some for tasting-my kids have surprisingly pretentious taste in cheese LOL), and a very nice bathroom with a real changing table (not one of those Koala things!).
