I live in Tallahassee FL and visit Cheddars often because we don't have one in Tallahassee. Today I went online and place a order for pick up at 11:15am since they open at 11am. Well we get there to pick up the food and waited outside for 30 minutes just for someone to finally come out and tell me that they aren't opening until noon. What the heck. Are your customers suppose to read your minds on the time that you choose to open. The website and door clearly states that you open at 11am. You were sure glad to take my money and order for an 11:15am pick up. When I called and spoke with the Manager Malcom he had no compassion and acted as if he didn't really care. He basically said that we are opening at 12 today and that's that. Every question that I asked he kept repeating himself. That is NOT great customer service. The food is good but poor customer service and poor mgmt will kill the business. GET IT TOGETHER!! read more

I always go to cheddars when in Valdosta but today it was such an eye awakening experience. I don't blame the entire restaurant for one bad egg but they do need to make it right. I went in alone looking for a peaceful experience. I ordered my norm the cheese dip with beef and a tea and water . The waitress brought the food first then brought a huge platter with only water . I asked where's the tea . She got so angry she said over and over I'm being your tea don't u sorry it's coming it's coming , rudely I got a little scared then she sat it in from of me and said and I got u a new waitress , I looked shocked . I thought why is she acting like this I know I ve not been ugly so a new white lady steps in I'll be your waitress now . I said calmly did she tell u why she didn't wanta wait on me she said no only that she wanted me to take over your table . I saw her go on to wait on a black customer Nd glare over at me . Had a great date with my boyfriend. Our waiter was amazing, great food but I can't rate more than 2 stars because of the huge flying roach I saw on the wall while we were eating. I don't like bugs but even my boyfriend, who isn't scared of them at all, said it was huge. This was our first time eating there but unfortunately will more than likely be our last. They may not usually have roaches but in my mind all I can think of is what else is back there they could have possibly ended up in someone's or my food. Everyone always talks about cheddars and how much they love it but every time I've gone something always is wrong with my food. There's been times where there was a hair in my food (obviously not mine or anyone with me) and the managers argue with me over it just to try to get me to get some chips and salsa instead of getting me another meal. There's been other times where I've asked for certain things not on the plate because I'm allergic and then it's my fault because "I didn't say I didn't want that on there". I wish I could enjoy this place but I simply don't. I'm giving this place 3 stars because it isn't the worst place I've been to but by FAR it isn't the best. read more

The last few time we have been to cheddars the service has been awful. The staff is always kind but it has been extremely slow. Orders have been incorrect. Call ins have taken an hour. I have eaten at this particular restaurant three times since I lived in Valdosta and I must say, compared to the hundreds of times I ate at the one in Columbus Ga this one was nothing like i expected. Time wise we got in fast all three times, twice on a Friday night and once on a Saturday night. Wait staff wise, most of our waitress's and waiters were fair, firm and friendly at the same time. They kept our glasses refilled and always made sure we were taken care of. Even when on two occasions we had food problems they were extremely apologetic and horrified at the food. It is either a great acting game or true feelings towards their chefs in back. Now ambiance is awesome. If you go mainly for the looks, TV's and overall visual experience then this will be your place. Awesome fan in the middle of the building that had my children staring at it for a long time. Food wise now....here it gets a bit 'sticky'. Sticky being a key word. the first time on a Friday when we went, we expected a great selection on the menu yet it was greatly disappointing. If you are looking for a bunch of pasta or seafood, don't go there. BarBQue and main salads. Even the Chedders in Columbus Ga had more pasta than this one. My husband ordered the ribs the first time, he complained later they were too sticky and sickeningly sweet. Way to sweet to be called BarBQue. He also got the wrong side item twice that night. I myself chose the Cajun pasta but had the spices taken out, the waiter said they could do that and surprisingly it came out perfect. Seeing as how this time his were just a tad sweet and mine was great we went again when our friend was down with us. Saturday night. That was when another mistake happened. My friend had heard about my pasta from last time, Cajun without spices, and he ordered it as well as I did again. This time my husband had the buffalo shrimp as well. the side items came out OK, a bit cold but right, and the main course was a bit late. Took about forty minutes to get it. My Cajun without spices was cold, the shrimp were hard as if they had been grilled too long and our friends had the hidden spices in the sauce making it too spicy for him to eat. My husbands shrimp was very cold and the sauce made the fried coating soft and nasty to eat. We didn't want to try it again, yet we were tempted into it by another friend of ours that said they had a new cook and were getting better but when we got there the cook apparently needed a lot more training, if they even got a new one! My husband went with the ribs this time, and i ventured out for the fish. first and foremost, it was supposed to be grilled not steamed but when i got it the taste reminded me of steamed okra. If you never had that, its bland and slimy. I forced half of it down with what they called remoulade sauce on top but it was also tasteless but the waiter this time never asked how our food was. My husband found a hair, short and blonde, on his ribs and as he asked for the manager she told him they would take his ribs back and get him another set. I got him to cut the ribs in half to make sure the right ribs were thrown away and a full new slab was brought back. The manager brought out the same cut in half ribs and when asked why she said and I quote "Thats a new slab sir, its just so tender that as they took it off the grill it split in the middle." The rib bone in the middle had touched fire, it had a char on it instead of a clean white/grey look when the meat is taken off of it like its supposed to be. Also note that when my husband went to take off some meat to prove it was tender or not the meat was stringy and overcooked. The manager took the meal off of his side of the ticket but didn't even ask about mine and that was the night we decided never to eat here again. Did we like the place overall? Not really. Some people might get better experience than us but be forewarned there can be bad experiences and that was what we had. Price wise not bad, wait staff was pretty good in their own way and the manager tried to cover up for the cook but at least was pleasant enough when my husband proved the excuse wrong. The scene is pretty cool, keeps kids entertained (mine at least) but overall i would recommend going somewhere else. If you do decide to go i pray you have one of the more memorable good times and if you do please let others know as well. Everyone has their own opinion and i hope if you do go you can let us know yours. My experience gets this restaurant a 2 star, for good time sitting, good wait staff and for good ambiance. It doesn't get a star for food cause our times it could have been better and no star for liking it overall because it could have been better. read more

If I could give this a zero I would. As soon as we opened the door, another person basically told us not to go in, we should have listened. We walked in and the hostess had no idea what was going on. She sat us down with no silverware. At first our hostess came quick, took our drink orders and we asked for an appetizer. Then it took about 25 minutes to bring our chips and queso out, the queso was literally rock hard and chunky. And we could see our drinks waiting at the bar. They literally melted and we're then brought to another table only to be brought back because they realized it wasn't theirs it was ours. When someone came by our table we asked them about our drinks, nothing. Then one of us went up to the bar to grab the remade drinks that were just SITTING at the bar AGAIN! They then said they would send our manager over..... another 10 minutes passed and no manager... our waitress finally came back... and we told her we were leaving and she said she'd get her manager.. we told her we already asked for the manager and let us leave. Horrible Experience!!! My husband and I dined here on Sunday, 12/17/17. They brought my dish to me the spaghetti was a frozen block with warm meat sauce on top. Showed it to the waiter who took it back and told the manager. She came out and offered two croissants. After the dish was brought out for a second time, over half of it was too hard to eat with a taste of scorched cheese! I spoke to the manager a second time and voice my dissatisfaction with the food. She had the nerve to ask if I was able to eat some of my husband's dish! We sat there over an hour neither of our drinks were ever refreshed! Yet, we were charged for both meals. This is the first I've gone to Cheddar's. It's also going to be the last. I understand they were busy but there was no excuse for the horrible service we received. We waited for a table for 45 mins which is understandable because it was busy. We were seated and the waitress got our drink order. By the time she came back our drinks were already empty. She never refilled them until we were almost done with our food, and we were literally getting up to leave. We were brought no silverware, or napkins nor the condiments we asked for. The waitress spent alot of time doting on one particular table and kept disappearing so we had to find random employees so we could even get our silverware. I could've gotten better food out of a hospital cafeteria. Oh, I almost forgot the drunk guy that had to be picked up by the police for being loud and obnoxious and walking around the restaurant with a beer in his hand arguing with the host. We have been at different locations and have had a great meat every time. We have also had great food at the Valdosta location up till this past week. We were seated right away but had to wait a long time for our food and when it arrived, it was cold. My husband had the chicken Alfredo which he usually love but he said that it was not as good this time. My broccoli casserole was not as good as usual either. Now my main dish did taste very good (southwest chicken with shrimp) Will give them another chance but if not satisfied, will have to dine elsewhere when we come through Valdosta. LA in GA read more

Had my wedding dinner there, and it was perfect. We were a group of 8, and every single one of us was beyond happy with our food, and the service! We were instantly greeted at the door, the entire restaurant was extremely nice, and clean. Our server was with us within a matter of minutes got our drinks to us quickly, all of our food was cooked just right and got out to us in a decent time. Food is decent but service is TERRIBLE. Ordered food to go. Arrived 20 minutes later and 4 out of 5 plates are ready. After sitting at the bar for 25 minutes without even so much as a water being offered to us while we wait the last plate (a simple cheeseburger) finally comes out. The bartender doesn't even ask for my card, I had to offer to pay for the meals and when she brings me the receipt she practically throws it and my card down on the bar in front of me. On Jan 25th 2018 around 12:30 pm me (Alfonzo Pierce) and my daughter (Diamond Pierce) stopped in the restaurant in Valdosta Georgia and ate, I ordered the Sirloin/Rib platter the ribs were super tough no tenderness at all. I actually had to manhandle them to separate so I can eat, the Sirloin was cooked to my taste which is medium and very good no problem. I came to visit my daughter from a 2 1/2 hour drive from Soperton Georgia with all intentions to enjoy her and a great meal she is a college student at Valdosta State. I would truly love to give this place a better review but there were more negatives than positives. Our visit was on a Wednesday evening and we were seated right away. We had a very attentive waitress who approached our table right away. The food was very good and we would order the same salads again. If you are looking for an exotic selection of mixed drinks then this place can fulfill that. Now for the negatives. If you are looking for a place with a good beer selection, do not come here. They definitely need to update their beer menu with a better selection of microbrews. There are just too many out there now. We were celebrating a special occasion and was in the mood for a "good" cold draft beer. We were seated in a booth in the bar area so this next remark may have something to do with where we were. It was a very warm spring evening. The thermostat must have been set on 60 because there was frigid air blowing right down on us! This seems to be one of those places that survives because it happens to be next to a hotel, and people gotta eat. I ordered curbside delivery. It was on time and the server was friendly. The food, though, is barely bar-food quality. I don't understand the "scratch kitchen" marketing. Have you ever put lettuce in the coldest spot in your fridge and it accidentally freezes? That's what their salad tasted like. No joke, the lettuce was soggy from being frozen and the croutons were soft and chewy like a Laffy Taffy. Someone totally froze my salad. How does that even happen? Who freezes salad? Everything else we ordered tasted like heatlamp-warmed leftovers. It was really a disaster. Other reviews talk about the slow service, and I assumed it was because they're working hard in the kitchen cooking dishes from scratch, but you'd be better off with one of those Hungry Man things in the freezer section of the local grocer. read more

This is one of the worst restaurants I have ever experienced. After being ignored for over an hour, we were finally sat. Still hopeful, we continued to be ignored for another thirty minutes. We had to go back into the kitchen to get an employee to help us. Also, there is a leak in the roof where we were sat and continuously got dripped on. It is extremely discouraging because we are typically large Cheddar's fans. This was a sad way to spend my friend's birthday. We will not be returning to this Cheddar's location. read more
