Lucky lets us know that the kitchen is understaffed w/ only 2 cooks, so dinner may be awhile. No biggie. We order our entrees and after a few mins, I change my mind from the coconut shrimp meal w/ fries and ask him if I can change my order. He tells me that it's not possible, but I can go ahead and order an additional entre. Dang, ok. I get my coconut shrimp and fries (pretty quickly) and guess what, cold! Hubby's steak was raw and kids meals were cold as well. HOW?! You would think w/ 2 cooks slinging meals as quickly as possible, something from the kitchen would come out piping hot?! Very disappointed at the food and service tonight. Appetizers didn't come out. No offer of croissants even when we asked for them. No silverware. Didn't get salads, had to ask for them. We had to order something else. We both had ordered the vegetable plate. I had to order the seasoned rice instead of green beans as one of the sides. We've been here more than a handful of times and I've never written a review. I've had to complain to management in the past about service and servers and food, and we always seem to come back every 6 months or so...and I'm certainly glad we did tonite! Excellent service!! We had 2 servers, 1 in training, and she was AWESOME! Our appetizer came out fast, followed by salads and then meals. I asked for my (alcoholic) drink to be made without all of the fru-fru stuff and that's exactly how she brought it! Our table was pre-bussed, which I LOVE when the waitstaff does that, and just very attentive to our needs! Food was delicious and hot! Thanks y'all for making us love Cheddars UPDATE: 3/13/19 So.....they DO NOT HAVE Thousand Island Salad Dressing! Shouldn't a "scratch" kitchen carry Thousand Island? How "Un-American" can you get?!? A family friendly place, similar to applebees, easy to order online for a larger family. Some of the food we got looked like it was tossed around, flavor not bad but, food handling not good. You a getting present. Our croissants were squished, yet delicious but crushed. I mean i get being busy but this was kindof ridiculous. The restaurant was pretty much empty and she said she had no where to sit us down, she went to go check came back and looked at us and kinda gave us an attitude and said "are you guys going to need a high chair" considering we had a 1 yr old and we said yes, so she seemed frustrated and proceeded to tell us again that she had no where to sit us down. They never disappoint! I absolutely love the way I'm greeted when I come here...they hold the door and I'm always seated fairly quick. I did my usual spinach dip as an appetizer. I had to come get some tender ribs and grilled shrimp. I ordered Mac and cheese and the waiter informed me that they changed the recipe and noodles they use. No big deal. I didn't care for the flavor tho. My salad was great as always (love their ranch) I had a Bahama mama mixed drink it was delicious an the right amount of alcohol. Big mistake...thought for sure Cheddars would have a soup on the menu, no...ordered steak with onions because they dont have mushrooms. Got four strands of onions. Ask for medium, got mw... servers were arguing about tables, server forgot my drink twice, walked to the bar and got my coke zero myself. Tiny, tiny portions, a monkey dish half full of corn, monkey dish of well done green beans...5o steak, ordered 8oz...but that's debatable. Let me say first, the service and staff were great. The restaurant was clean as far as our booth. The biggest disappointment was the food, it was not good. I only eat fish and vegetables so the only real option was the fish dinner. The fist had no flavor and wasn't hot nor were the fries that I ordered either. The Cole slaw was frozen. Yuck! The other three people were not happy with their meals either. The wait was the worst part trying to do lunch for an hour is not recommended, too slow. A week later another coworker went there and her grilled chicken was raw and her macaroni and cheese was also frozen. This is not a made from scratch kitchen if food is frozen and tastes unseasoned. We went last night for dinner and waited over 45 minutes to be sat and then waited another 30 minutes because the kitchen was understaffed. I used to love Cheddar's, but my last few visits there were very underwhelming. They should really look into limiting their hours of operation locally or changing the way they do business because disappointing dozens of people a day in Mt. Cheddars used to be good before covid. After covid the service was slow and food was just ok. Good variety in kids menu though. I had the ribs which was good. The table ordering tablet was confusing. I am not one to leave negative reviews, but due to our experience at cheddars last night I want to warn other people. If I could leave 0 stars I would. We came in last night for dinner with 4 adults. The restaurant was virtually empty, but for some reason we barely could get any service throughout our visit. When we got sat, the table was dirty and we had to sweep out crumbs and trash from our booth. The server had no knowledge of any of the cocktails and seemed like she couldn't be of help at all for anything on the menu. It took 15 minutes to get a beer and two cocktails. Again, the restaurant was basically empty. Once our food finally came out it was all lukewarm at best... the chips and queso were the worst part (which was the easiest food item we got...). We got the bottom of the bag chips where they were in tiny pieces, couldn't even dip in the queso. The queso was hard to the touch. We had to send it back twice just to get a non solid queso. We all ended up leaving about half our food because it did not taste right. My fiancé and I got super sick last night from our chicken. Still in recovery from the food poisoning. All in all, the service was terrible, the food was terrible, there was nothing pleasant about our experience whatsoever. Avoid at all costs. read more

I don't like giving negative reviews but this restaurant is truly deserving of it. I wish I could comment on the food but my fiancé and I never got to even try it. We showed up on a Sunday afternoon and stood at the hostess station for well over five minutes with no hostess in sight. Bar staff were of no help. Very blunt and exasperated. When the hostess finally showed up we were told there was a 30 minute wait for a two person table. No apology for the wait at the hostess station. We left out of frustration. As a former waiter I know from experience that you need to make contact with customers early and often. Cheddars lack of staff at this location on what was evidently a busy evening means that this is a poorly managed location. I would advise caution to anyone planning to eat here - if it took five minutes for a hostess to contact us, how often do you think wait staff refill drinks or check on your order? Regardless, this has soured me about Cheddars, which is unfortunate due to the fact that they are a chain and I travel a fair amount. I will not be visiting any of their other locations as I want to feel welcome and at home when I go out to eat. I did not get that feeling from Cheddars in Mt Juliet. read more

People I don't usually post reviews much on chain restaurants. I have to say their chicken pot pie is really good. My top few items I enjoy at Cheddar's is there spinach and artichoke dip, and the Montecristo. They really do those items well. Their service is good and consistent every time I'm there. This place was as expected from my last visit, below average. The steak we ordered was rare and I ordered medium rare and it was laced with silver skin fat .. just bad. If you're not going to put USDA or Prime steak on the menu then just don't serve a steak.. My wife and our girls had fries.... all were cold. When I sent the steak back I said let's just scratch the re heat on the steak and let's just get the burger and fries to go... as expected fries were cold again. It so disappointing. And more so is that the waiter worked hard and covered for the understaffed kitchen and bad food. You'll lose him eventually.... I have to say that this Cheddar's is like an average 3 and a half star with other restaurants in Mount Juliet. Their service at Cheddar's is decent, but it's not like the best service in the world. Their Chicken Tender Platter requires like two people to eat it. Their health rating is pretty average to what other restaurant chains have. The good thing about Cheddar's is that their food sometimes come out either warm or nice and warm whenever I order the chicken pot pie. I figured out that the Chicken Pot Pie comes out straight from the oven to serve other people. The bad thing is that their service is a little slow and it feels like waiting for my food for hours. I know the one time when I ordered my food, my broccoli came out and I realized that somebody didn't get rid of the plastic wrap from the kitchen. I mean cmon, really? Trust me, I usually don't get served like that. It like never happens to me, until just about 4 days ago. This location used to be wonderful. No more. Went there around 4pm for early dinner. No host/hostess in site. Waited a while then went looking for someone to assist. Got a server, Isaiah, who seated us. Ordered an appetizer and drinks. Server brought drinks and took our order for dinner. Moments later my salad arrived. Asked why salad arrived before appetizer. He blamed the kitchen when he should have waited to put in our order AFTER we received the appetizer. I set my salad aside until we got our appetizer and had some time to eat it. Main course came soon after. Server left the bill on the table with the meal. Felt rushed in a fairly empty restaurant. Both meals were salty and the fish was undercooked.
