Food is always good, but the service is very sub par. You know it's bad when they have "now hiring servers" plastered everywhere around the building. The last 4 times I've been, I've had to ask someone to contact us because we've been ignored when we sat down for long periods of time. I've watched couples and parties get up and walk out because the service was so slow. Man, some places are very unfriendly to customers. I called for take-out at about 4:30pm, had to wait 9 minutes on the phone until the bartender got to me for my simple order of ribs to go. One I got there, bartender and staff that I encountered were not even friend. One male almost knocked me over on my way out. I will give this place a break from my money for a while. read more

Tonight is the second time I've received horrible service at Cheddar's, and I will not be back. I arrived at 5:45, by myself, and sat at the bar as it was not very crowded, only three other patrons. The bartender (Christina, I believe I heard her say to someone else, certainly not to me...more on that later), handed me a menu, and I asked for a glass of water. I had specifically come to get a burger, and asked Christina whether there were avocados available. There were none, so I opted for a Mushroom Swiss and fries. And that was pretty much the last interaction I had with her. Not once did she utter another word to me, or even look in my direction; the burger was plopped down without a glance at me - I said thank you, she said nothing - she didn't ask me whether I needed anything else, did not ever check back to see if the burger was to my liking (it was, by the way, but apparently nobody cared to find out). When I was finished, I noticed that the check presenter had also been laid down without my having asked for it. I placed my card in it, then she eventually took it...again without a single word. And for the final straw, she ran my card and set the presenter back in front of me and walked off...again, without even acknowledging me. Nothing. No 'thank you', no 'how was everything', nothing. To add insult to injury, she was being quite chummy and chatty with other people at the bar, including the gentleman to my immediate left. I truly felt ignored. My bill came to $9.41, and that's exactly the amount I paid. No tip, in direct proportion to the amount of courtesy I was shown. So, I will not be returning. The food is ok, but not when served with this level of incivility and disregard. read more

Tonight I had a pretty bad experience at a place I don't usually go. I started by ordering a cocktail with my friends...which didn't come until 2 mins before my entree showed. We are our appetizers sipping water and waiting on our cocktails. I came prepared to drink multiple, even asking what the limit was when I ordered but only had the one due to the length of time it took to come. The ice came melted so I knew it had been sitting. My pasta came but I still hadn't gotten my salad I ordered. My server showed up with my salad a few mins later, with the wrong dressing. I corrected her and stared at my salad with no dressing and my pasta getting colder while I waited for the correct dressing. My friends ate burgers without the fries they ordered. We had also ordered two rounds of croissants to go with our salads and they didn't show until our entrees were basically finished, icing on the cake: they were undercooked. Every time we go to Cheddar's, the experience gets worse. Today was the final straw, and we won't be back. Our server was horrible. He obviously didn't want to be there, and it was apparent through his service. He mumbled the entire time, walked away mid-sentence, forgot my daughter's side item (not the kitchen), didn't get us refills (ONE refill- we were not drinking repeatedly), stuck food out to us and had no idea where it went, etc. Then, the food was inedible. My pasta sat in the window waiting for the chicken to be added so long you couldn't tell it was Alfredo anymore. Unfortunately, I could continue on and on. The whole experience RUINED my Mother's Day meal. I thought going here would be a good idea due to variety, but I was mistaken. read more

My husband and I ate at this location this week and we found hair in our food, not just once but twice in one meal. First in the salad, a long blondish hair and then at the bottom of the entree', another black hair on the plate. DISGUSTING! I WOULD NEVER eat there again. Food is always great, hot & quick. Salmon & Tilapia are amazing!! However, the garden area is loud & noisy, I think if they ever want to sit us there again, I'll ask to wait or sit in the bar. Ruin our evening. Otherwise, I would have given them a 5 star. Servers are always great too! read more

Cheddars is my favorite restaurant but I believe that the one off of Man o war is wayyyyy better. I normally order the chicken finger platter, but I ordered the potato soup and club sandwich. My friend ordered the soup and house salad. Our soups took about 25 minutes to come out. Twenty five minutes. Soups. Drinks weren't refilled adequately, our drink was water. I noticed about 5 spoonful's in my soup that there was a tongue textured "tomato" inside of it (picture included). I told the server and it took about 10 minutes to get a manager, who said it was a tomato and asked me if I wanted more potato soup The price for the soup ($2.99) was removed from my bill. I was nice about it, but absolutely disgusted. I work in a restaurant and seriously no telling what's in Cheddars potato soup (soup is made in one huge bowl and that's it). We both had the chocolate cake (we should've ordered one and split it because it was THAT huge.) Our server was nice in the beginning, but after I politely told her about my soup, she immediately switched and started being rude. It took her about 5 minutes to get boxes, 20 minutes (literally) to take our debit cards. For a salad, soup and half a club, and dessert we were there for two whole hours. Not the best service nor my best time at Cheddars. I will only remain going to the Cheddars off of Man o War. read more

Oh dear....first let me say we have had numerous pleasant dining experiences at this Cheddars's location. However, our most recent was not one of them. The bar area is nice, quiet with tall tables and booths...very nice atmosphere. This time, we had a number of things that didn't go very well. Our waiter (not naming names) knew some things we asked about, such as how many chicken tenders were in an appetizer order vs. a dinner order, but had no idea as to the size of a lunch vs. dinner sized portion, among other things. He never came to see if we wanted more drinks (water or cocktails), but did respond when we flagged him down. He then left two empty wine glasses, an empty water glass, a small plate and a drink novel on our table for over an hour. This was a high top cocktail table, mind you...not big! When we moved them to the empty table with dirty dishes next to us, the disinterested bartender (at the empty bar) said that was fine, as our waiter walked past it. When we got our check for our two appetizers and one entry split between two people, the check said there were three people dining. When we said it needed to be itemized properly for business purposes, they said they couldn't change it. When we asked for a comment card, they said they had none, even as we pointed out the comment card box by the door. Honestly, we feel kind of bad about this, as the last time we had service like this, the restaurant went out of business within the week, and we knew the service was based on knowing they were losing their jobs, anyway. This time, we felt like they were either going to be out of business soon, one way or another....or else we were possibly being punked. Has Ashton shown up, we would have felt better about all of this. Of course. As it is, we won't be returning to this Cheddar's. read more

I don't know what has happened at Cheddar's, but the service has gotten terrible! This is the second time in recent months that I have had basically the same experience. I gave them another chance because that hasn't been the norm. This time, our waitress took our order and brought our drinks and never came back. After almost 20 minutes, I had to go find someone to see if they could find our waitress to get refills and see where our food was. She finally shows up with just one drink and says she will be back with another. There was no apology, just hurriedly said she would be back. That didn't happen either. She sends someone else to our table after waiting another 10-15 minutes to tell us that they are out of baked potatoes before 6:00pm...really?? After waiting well over 30 minutes our food finally showed up, but still no second drink or apology. The table next to us was having the same experience, but worse. Their food never showed up while we were there. the waitress ignored them almost completely. They finally got up and left, which is what we should have done. This lack of service is completely unacceptable, especially since we were there well before the dinner rush. Not once did anyone apologize for our wait or the issues we experienced. Get a grip Cheddar's, or you will become another restaurant casualty in Lexington, which would be so unfortunate. read more

I am typically a very patient person, however it seems this establishment is not run very efficiently. I called to place a to-go order and the operator taking calls did tell me there were 5 people in front of me to place an order. At the 15 minute mark of waiting, I decided to hang up and call back. I called back and said that I had been on hold for 15 minutes and the girl says that 2 people are in front of me, it will be about 10 minutes before I can place an order. This is absurd to me. I can't imagine that it takes 5 minutes per person to place an order. A waitress doesn't stand at a table for 5 minutes taking a single order, so why does it take 5 minutes for a phone order? If you have an exceptionally large amount of traffic, the person taking the initial call should help expedite the process by writing orders down or they should staff an extra person to specifically take to-go orders. Very unhappy with their customer service. read more
