Went there today with a parent. The appetizer of onion rings seemed nice enough, but when we got our burgers, it was sort of bland. Not to mention they told us that one of them had been dropped and we had to wait for another to be cooked. Unknown if they actually cooked both again for freshness, but the fact that the waitress said that my plate was hot for a burger dish put heavy doubt on that. It did taste generic and no good meat flavor was found. My mother said she was having stomach trouble a bit on the way home, and I thought I was lucky not to have the same. Until two hours later, when I got sick at home. I do not recommend this place whatsoever. read more

Cheddars is usually my go to place for comfort food. They have several dishes that I enjoy. One is the beef philly steak.. but without mushrooms. They put 4 whole mushrooms in my sandwich. It's not like it was a couple slices that were missed. Love their tea. But today no to go lids. Just an off day. But I will still go back read more

Running errands we decide, let's get a sit down lunch. Wife has a gift card for Cheddars so it seems like a great idea. First, they made daughter change her order because they were out of grilled cheese bread. Waitress comes back and tells me that she can't put my combo in because I ordered wrong. (I didn't). I changed my order. She sends another waitress to tell me they were out of that (one of their signature items). I changed my order again. Daughter spills wife's ice tea. ALL OVER THE BABY. 3 servers walk by and see the spill. None help. Our waitress is no where to be seen for over 30 minutes. Wife has no drink. And then daughter spills her milk. Wait 5-10 minutes for the check. Wait 5-10 minutes for her to come back for payment. And everything was full price after she said she'd discount it. read more

Very reasonably priced and really good food. The Monte Cristo Sandwich might be the best in the history of the universe. Fantastic service, great atmosphere. Careful on what time you visit because it can be very crowded. Even when you have to wait it doesn't take very long at all. read more

Excellent service. Menu provided lots to chose from, unless you are searching for Vegetarian and nothing for Vegan. However, I opted for one of their "favorites", the Chicken Fried Chicken. The chicken was amazing! Prices were fine. Overall good experience, and would go back. read more

Pros: Great tasting food, quick friendly service, atmosphere is up to date, location easy to get to, affordable, open bar that normally doesn't require any wait. Cons: they don't take reservations read more

Seemed mediocre tonight. Ribs were good, but the sirloin was not that juicy for being medium rare. Broccoli was way over cooked and not edible. Fries tasted like they had sat under the warmer too long. My wife's pork chop was average and her mashed potatoes seemed to have a slight gray tinge to them. To be honest, the Ribs are better at Bandana's and the pork chop is better at Archie and Clyde's. If I come back it will be for the onion rings. read more

My favorite modern American style restaurant in Evansville! Every dish I've had here has been amazing, especially the chicken tenders and onion rings. All the food has been served hot and in a reasonable amount of time. For dessert, you have to get a monster cookie ;-) The building is large and looks very inviting. The interior is clean and fresh but isn't overly engaging, which can be good or bad depending on your tastes. Love the bar and aquarium! As for service, this is both it's greatest strength and biggest weakness. Despite the other reviews I have read, I have had the best waiting service I've ever experienced in a restaurant here. They're quick, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to your every request, no matter how complicated or trivial. And the price! These dinners are some of the most competitively priced I've seen anywhere. You might have trouble spending more than $20 per person, and that's even with appetizers! HOWEVER, for a place that doesn't take reservations, you do find yourself consistently waiting 30+ minutes during lunch and dinner hours. It's not that they're slow, but rather always packed. Still, this makes the place very hard to choose if you plan on having a party of more than six. While I wouldn't argue with someone who gave this place four stars, I feel the great food, cheap prices, and excellent service more than make up for the plain atmosphere and potential wait. read more

I believe this is one of the best restaurants in E-town! My husband and I have been there several times since it has opened, an every time, the service has been exceptional! I am in a wheelchair, so that is why I give it such a great rating. You just do not find that level of consideration in other places in town! Also, their food is seasoned and cooked to perfection. I just do not know how they can serve such large portions and make a profit! I usually have enough left to eat on for the next 3 days! Keep up the good work! Mrs. J. Estes read more

The servers are great. The food is good. The portions are huge. The price is small. The drinks are strong. The atmosphere is pleasant. This is a good spot, especially or being a chain. read more

Food is good but my significant other and I sat for 10-15 minutes before receiving any wait staff and placed our entire order in which case we received all of our food(apps and entrees) all at once. Our drinks came after our food and after we had to flag our waiter down to get our drinks. read more

The food was good but the price was great. They have a great affordable kids menu. My kids were very pleased.

It was our third time trying to eat at this place successfully. However, this experience was the worst and will NEVER return or allow family or friends to visit. We were seated immediately, but had problems with a server arriving to take our order. The server made it clear she did not like white people for what ever reason. She proved that by not turning our order in properly and never returning. Finally, after 45 minutes a server showed up a new person the cook actually! He claimed the server was busy counting her drawer? Of course, that seemed strange to us. The food was cold with a dinner size that appeared to be a lunch size. I did make a formal complaint to the manager whom agreed there were issues. The end of story manager did not charge me for anything. Again, this was a fourth attempted at eating here and final. AVOID this establishment in Evansville, Indiana. read more

Cheddar's is my favorite place to eat when I come to visit the Ville. Today I had the Sweet and Spicy Chicken and Shrimp (UNDER 575 calories!) and was blown away! My server, Geneva, was so helpful and friendly. Great customer service :) 10/10 would come again read more

This is my fourth visit since the place opened a few years ago. My visits always seem to be just ok. I enjoy that they have casual food at good prices. However the food is simply ok and the service is always poor. Tonight was no exception. It was 10 minutes after we sat down before our drink order was taken. We were ready so the waitress took our drink, appetizer, and food order all at the same time. Drinks came about 10 minutes later, onion rings about 20 after that, and food about 25 minutes after that. My sandwich was so bland. I could have made a better sandwich in my kitchen. My husbands shrimp were mutants. Most of them were Siamese attached at the tail. Tonight we came to the conclusion after being there for an hour and 45 minutes, that the reason the parking lot is always full is their turn around time is probably extremely long. We noticed others getting frustrated with the wait times as well. The wait staff seemed to be every man for themselves. I even heard one telling the other something about empty shakers in a passing convo and the response was a hushed "whatever". There seemed to be no floor manager or anyone out making sure people were happy and satisfied. A little care and effort can go a long way. read more

Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen - My sandwich was severely mediocre. The "cheese" was unmelted, and fake. - Comfort Food Near Me - Evansville, Indiana

I been to your bar to eat twice in the last week and 30 minute wait both times. And neither time were there many cars in parking lot. This is not good for business. Both times the hostess' were rude also read more

My friends and I visited this location on Monday, first of all our waitress Jade had no clue about the lunch specials and told us that the manager had said they were out of all the lunch specials, which one of my friends requested she double check that information, when she came back to our table she had gotten the information wrong. Only the meatloaf lunch special they were out of. She was not attentive because we had to keep asking for things such as our eating utensils, straws, and napkins several times! We ordered dessert and Terra assisted us and did a great job! If it wasn't for Terra I would not be visiting this location ever again! read more

When this restaurant first opened it was very nice, had great service & food, it has went very down hill. Our waitress, Tricia F., checked on us maybe once. She did not have a good attitude and should not be working. The food was also just ok. Nothing to brag about could have made it at home. This restaurant has went off the deep end. read more

Visited 4 times since their opening on Green River and food has been fresh, hot and tasty every time. Great prices, good variety of dishes. Every visit, regardless of day or time, there's been at least a 20 min. wait. They need to get the service staff straightened out though. I've worked and been involved in grand openings of restaurants and I'll admit it does take some time to iron out staff wrinkles. That said, they've had plenty of time and I shouldn't have to wait 12 minutes for a server to greet my table. I'll give them one more shot on service. By the look of the aforementioned wait times, I doubt I'll be missed should I decide not to return. read more

Three stars because the salmon is so good. Unfortunately, service was not. Had to wait 30 min for food to be served and it was NOT busy in there. I had specifically asked for butter on the side of a baked potato and repeated it because I could tell the waiter was not listening. When it was served, it was dripping in butter. Also getting flatware and napkins is always an ordeal. Why not just have the flatware wrapped and already on the table? Every time we've been, we have had to ask for utensils and napkins. We have been to many different Cheddar's in various locations and have not had the issues we've had at the Evansville one. Again, the food is always good, but service is very hit and miss. read more

We don't have Cheddars in Washington, so I didn't know what kind of place I was being brought into. The menu has a decent variety, the service was great even though the place was busy. Everyone's food was really great and the chicken pot pie was piping hot! The only reason that I wouldn't give this five stars is because the restaurant was pretty loud which made it hard to talk, but that could just be how all Cheddars are? read more

The portions are huge! My boyfriend and I went, we both ordered the New Orleans Pasta, basically a take on jambalaya, using pasta instead of rice. So good! We both took home leftovers. I had a total of 3 meals out of mine! read more

Used to love coming here but service keeps declining. Food is great at other Cheddar locations but here, well, just average. And yet constantly busy! read more

One of my favorite restaurants in eville. Service and food is great for the price. Huge portions compliment the casual setting. All in all a great value! read more

One good thing I can say about our visit to Cheddar's is that our wait time for a table was the amount of time the hostess estimated. Our waitress was super professional, but the food left a lot to be desired. Maybe it was just my boyfriend's steak and my meal that weren't that great. I love the Cheddar's in York, PA; so maybe our visit is an anomaly. Anyway, the steak was tough as leather, the green beans were grayish and from a can; and the mashed potatoes were so over-powerfully seasoned with garlic, I lost my appetite. Overall, great service, unfortunately poor food. read more

I visited the Terre Haute Cheddars at dinner time and while the restaurant was busy, our service was prompt. The food was hot and tasted good. It's not a fancy place, but there's a lot of variety and would be perfect for larger groups. I ordered the bourbon glazed salmon with baked potato and it was all very good. read more

Worst service ever. We went there for lunch one afternoon. The hostess tried to seat 7 of us in a booth then got upset when we refused the booth and requested a larger table. We all ordered soup and sandwiches but 40 minutes later we still did not have our lunch. Only to find out the waitress had just put the order in. When ee git the food it was cold!!! We will NOT be back and will make sure none of our friends or families go there either. WORST service I have ever had read more

Food is great but the service is slow. The entire wait staff walks around like they are lost, looking for someone to take them by the hand. Don't dine here if you are in a hurry. read more

The price is great, but the wait is almost always interminable unless you're going for a late lunch or a really late dinner. We've been once and had good service, but the last time we were there during dinner hour, the service was incredibly slow. My wife also ordered a steak medium well that came out rare. As for the food, it's a nice selection of entrees that you can get just about anywhere else. The portion sizes are fairly large, so we've always had plenty of leftovers. read more

Just OK. Large plates with small taste. Slow to bring bar drinks. Service was mediocre.

Server was nice and restaurant was cozy. Alcoholic drinks were fairly priced. Sides were good but the steak and ribs weren't that great. Chicken tenders were delicious. read more

For the money you spend here it really is amazing. Great service good food amazing pricing

Good food and nice family atmosphere. Quickly accommodated a large party and stayed on top of everything.

This is the slowest service ever for lunch. 40 min wait for chicken strips and fries. Come on people!!

This place was great when it first opened but has lost a lot as far service and food quality, food is cheap but that's what you get is cheap tasting food it's like the staff doesn't care any longer. The building and atmosphere is nice but like I service and food suck read more

My faves are the blackened grilled tilapia and the country fried steak! Of course I love, love, love the broccoli casserole; I usually get a double order, to take with my leftovers. Carrots are perfect. The country fried steak with the gravy, which is the bomb, is delicious. My kids love the chicken tenders and fries. Huge portions! Gotta go....headed there now!!! read more
