Seemed mediocre tonight. Ribs were good, but the sirloin was not that juicy for being medium rare. Broccoli was way over cooked and not edible. Fries tasted like they had sat under the warmer too long. My wife's pork chop was average and her mashed potatoes seemed to have a slight gray tinge to them. To be honest, the Ribs are better at Bandana's and the pork chop is better at Archie and Clyde's. If I come back it will be for the onion rings. read more

My favorite modern American style restaurant in Evansville! Every dish I've had here has been amazing, especially the chicken tenders and onion rings. All the food has been served hot and in a reasonable amount of time. For dessert, you have to get a monster cookie ;-) The building is large and looks very inviting. The interior is clean and fresh but isn't overly engaging, which can be good or bad depending on your tastes. Love the bar and aquarium! As for service, this is both it's greatest strength and biggest weakness. Despite the other reviews I have read, I have had the best waiting service I've ever experienced in a restaurant here. They're quick, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive to your every request, no matter how complicated or trivial. And the price! These dinners are some of the most competitively priced I've seen anywhere. You might have trouble spending more than $20 per person, and that's even with appetizers! HOWEVER, for a place that doesn't take reservations, you do find yourself consistently waiting 30+ minutes during lunch and dinner hours. It's not that they're slow, but rather always packed. Still, this makes the place very hard to choose if you plan on having a party of more than six. While I wouldn't argue with someone who gave this place four stars, I feel the great food, cheap prices, and excellent service more than make up for the plain atmosphere and potential wait. read more

It was our third time trying to eat at this place successfully. However, this experience was the worst and will NEVER return or allow family or friends to visit. We were seated immediately, but had problems with a server arriving to take our order. The server made it clear she did not like white people for what ever reason. She proved that by not turning our order in properly and never returning. Finally, after 45 minutes a server showed up a new person the cook actually! He claimed the server was busy counting her drawer? Of course, that seemed strange to us. The food was cold with a dinner size that appeared to be a lunch size. I did make a formal complaint to the manager whom agreed there were issues. The end of story manager did not charge me for anything. Again, this was a fourth attempted at eating here and final. My friends and I visited this location on Monday, first of all our waitress Jade had no clue about the lunch specials and told us that the manager had said they were out of all the lunch specials, which one of my friends requested she double check that information, when she came back to our table she had gotten the information wrong. Only the meatloaf lunch special they were out of. She was not attentive because we had to keep asking for things such as our eating utensils, straws, and napkins several times! We ordered dessert and Terra assisted us and did a great job! If it wasn't for Terra I would not be visiting this location ever again! read more

This is my fourth visit since the place opened a few years ago. My visits always seem to be just ok. I enjoy that they have casual food at good prices. However the food is simply ok and the service is always poor. Tonight was no exception. It was 10 minutes after we sat down before our drink order was taken. We were ready so the waitress took our drink, appetizer, and food order all at the same time. Drinks came about 10 minutes later, onion rings about 20 after that, and food about 25 minutes after that. My sandwich was so bland. I could have made a better sandwich in my kitchen. My husbands shrimp were mutants. Most of them were Siamese attached at the tail. Tonight we came to the conclusion after being there for an hour and 45 minutes, that the reason the parking lot is always full is their turn around time is probably extremely long. We noticed others getting frustrated with the wait times as well. The wait staff seemed to be every man for themselves. I even heard one telling the other something about empty shakers in a passing convo and the response was a hushed "whatever". There seemed to be no floor manager or anyone out making sure people were happy and satisfied. A little care and effort can go a long way. read more

Three stars because the salmon is so good. Unfortunately, service was not. Had to wait 30 min for food to be served and it was NOT busy in there. I had specifically asked for butter on the side of a baked potato and repeated it because I could tell the waiter was not listening. When it was served, it was dripping in butter. Also getting flatware and napkins is always an ordeal. Why not just have the flatware wrapped and already on the table? Every time we've been, we have had to ask for utensils and napkins. We have been to many different Cheddar's in various locations and have not had the issues we've had at the Evansville one. Again, the food is always good, but service is very hit and miss. read more

Visited 4 times since their opening on Green River and food has been fresh, hot and tasty every time. Great prices, good variety of dishes. Every visit, regardless of day or time, there's been at least a 20 min. wait. They need to get the service staff straightened out though. I've worked and been involved in grand openings of restaurants and I'll admit it does take some time to iron out staff wrinkles. That said, they've had plenty of time and I shouldn't have to wait 12 minutes for a server to greet my table. I'll give them one more shot on service. One good thing I can say about our visit to Cheddar's is that our wait time for a table was the amount of time the hostess estimated. Our waitress was super professional, but the food left a lot to be desired. Maybe it was just my boyfriend's steak and my meal that weren't that great. I love the Cheddar's in York, PA; so maybe our visit is an anomaly. Anyway, the steak was tough as leather, the green beans were grayish and from a can; and the mashed potatoes were so over-powerfully seasoned with garlic, I lost my appetite. After 45 mins we still had no food. We were told they were cooking the burgers well done. I had country fried steak. We asked for our check and left without being served.
