Cheddars is a restaurant that we frequent quite often as it is close to our home and fairly reasonable price. And I'm not sure if it is the lack of workforce or combination of lack of workforce and attitude that the customer service seems to be going away. Went to dinner at cheddar's on a Thursday around 630PM we sat for 20 minutes before someone came to the table to even take a drink order. Our waitress simply walked and up and "what y'all wanna drink?" As we waited for her to return, we enjoyed the ambiance. The music was great. Our waitress took our order, brought us some amazing croissants and we didn't see her return for another 18 minutes. We ordered an appetizer of cheese fries. Before they arrived enough time had passed that a waitress from across the restaurant came over as she saw needed refills. She refilled our drinks as well as the table next to ours and delivered our appetizer. Our waitress popped by to say she was sorry, the kitchen was busy and she was helping. On to the main course - I had a pot pie and my oh my! Disgusting won't even cover it. I took one bite and it was sour and rotten tasting. I had my husband taste it without sharing my thoughts and he spit it out as well. Our waitress was able to get it taken off the bill. Which we were gracious of. The idea of going to eat and being taken care of, having a good meal just seems to be lost these days.

They said 15-20 min wait was more like 5 ..... That's just the beginning. Great service very attentive. Great food. Absolutely recommend and will defiantly come back. Thanks for a great experience. Zan

Stopped in for early NYE dinner on trek back to Louisville Ky from St. Louis, MO. We were seated quickly, our waitress was friendly, and our appetizer & drinks arrived quickly. Our entrees were both good, lots of food (too much to finish) at a great price point. Drinks were promptly filled throughout our time dining. We don't frequent chain eateries very often but are glad we stopped by Cheddar's for an early meal at a fair price.

The food at Cheddars is reasonably priced and the food is decent but our last two visits have been lacking in customer service in every way. Upon entering the establishment there was nobody at the host stand. We waited for ten minutes as a few employees would make eye contact and walk by without so much as acknowledging us. I was fine with going elsewhere but one in our party really wanted to eat here. We literally had to force the issue to get seated. It was 4 pm on a weekday so it wasn't like they were busy with other guests, that I could understand. We could see employees talking to one another. The food was decent and I've always appreciated their very reasonable prices, but it will be a long time before I desire to dine here again. There are many other restaurant options in the area. Management needs to make changes to the way the treat their guests.

The food was good but the price was great. They have a great affordable kids menu. My kids were very pleased.

Just OK. Large plates with small taste. Slow to bring bar drinks. Service was mediocre.

Tried to order a steak today. Was told they did not have any steaks, of any size or variety. Very disappointed in this restaurant.

The menu tonight was predetermined with great options. Service was a little slow tonight, but that is to be expected when the entire restaurant is at capacity with reservations. My husband and I loved the appetizers. It was a sample of shrimp cocktail, spinach dip with pita bread, and sriracha honey bacon brussel sprouts. I ordered the garden salad for my next course while my husband chose the broccoli mushroom chowder. We each enjoyed our choice. For the main course I had the marinated grilled chicken with creamy spinach and artichoke, and my husband had the 16 ounce bone in ribeye. Both main dishes came with a twice baked potato and roasted vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, green beans, bell pepper). My chicken was slightly overcooked, but it wasn't too noticeable with the creamy topping. My husband's steak was cooked to perfection. We both enjoyed the sides. We got dessert to go as we were so full by that point. I chose the carrot cake and he got the cheesecake. Our son was very happy we decided to bring the desserts home so he could also try them. Both were delicious, but the carrot cake was the standout. We look forward to returning to have their regular menu.

We stumbled across this restaurant on our trip to Evansville to visit the LST, and the Cross Eyed…read moreCricket was nearby. Trusting their website advice to overlook the appearance of their restaurant, which is located in an older house in a more industrial area, we decided to have dinner in a non traditional restaurant, and we were very glad that we did. The service was excellent, so friendly and efficient that we could have been in a 5 star restaurant. But you wouldn't find food that good in most fancy restaurants. We started with a plate of fried green tomatoes, and while no one is ever going to fix them as well as Daddy did in his iron skillet, they provided a dip to join them that was quite good... certainly, not one that Daddy ever thought of! Auntie had the pulled pork dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy & apple sauce. She ordered the appetizer brussell sprouts, and they were amazing! Hubby went with one of his favorite meals: fried catfish; yes, he almost inhaled it! As always, his German fried potatoes were great, and what can you really say about cottage cheese? It was there, and he ate it I went for the kubuki steak with fried cabbage & onions & mushrooms. The fried rice was delicious, but the ribeye took "delicious" to a whole new level! Oh! My goodness! It practically melted in my mouth! And the cabbage!! Wonderful! The "50's" down-home furnishings were likely family hand-me-downs & yard-sale finds, not particularly pretty but serviceable and authentic. Everything was very clean, even the too-small restroom, which reminded me of the first one my grandmother ever had in her house. Again, it was clean, but there was a leak on the restroom floor, something that can easily be repaired. If you are looking for upscale decor, don't come here. But if you want terrific food, friendly service, and a delightful experience, be sure to visit the Cross Eyed Cricket; it's wonderful! I understand there's a sister Cross Eyed Cricket in a three-story building right in the middle of the charming downtown. Their food might be almost as good as we had, but I think the lost atmosphere will detract from the visit. It's your call!

Food review: Im Checking out what appears to be a very local favorite. The dining room is packed but only a five or 10 minute wait at this diner. they turn the tables rather quickly. Very friendly and attentive wait staff. I ordered the French toast croissant meal with scrambled eggs, bacon grits, a biscuit and I can't remember what else I ordered. There was so many things as part of this platter. I'll post pictures. Very tasty hot served you could tell a lot of it is scratch made, and made with love. French toast is very unique very fluffy just like a croissant. The grits were amazing eggs made to perfection. Bacon was nice and thick and smoky no complaints here I strongly suggest you check out the metro diner in Evansville. Chris the manager go and ask how everything was I told him great on everything he told me it was a very fun job.
