I quit this place 8 months ago due to lousy food (service was ok)..... and I went there tonight to try them again. This time I got a To-Go order from the bar. I even let the bar tender keep the change ($4.64)...Big mistake. Dont ever tip before the services are rendered. I waited and I waited and I waited and I waited. 35 min. later the food was was brought out. It was not even hot. Gross no hot food? EFF That. If you get the food to go I sure hope you live right around the corner because it will be cold when you get home. By the way the food sucked. Dont order the fish tacos. Terrible service, unfriendly staff, server seemed like he hated his job. We went in when it was not crowded, several empty tables, had a party of 9. Told the hostess we were ok with splitting into two booths. Took way too long on how to figure it out, I even suggested a few locations that would work. Server was slow didn't come to check up very often, had to flag him down to ask for things, while other servers were standing around waiting for tables. Food came out and ribs were very dry, too dry to eat. When the server finally came back to ask if we wanted to go boxes I told him no the ribs were too dry. His response was "why didn't you tell me." We were told it would only be a 35 minute wait. We arrived at 7pm exactly and waited over an hour after seeing multiple people be seated and the reason we were told for the wait was that our server was not ready yet and that's what was taking so long. We were then told that also the reason people were being seated before us was because we requested for a table (which was not by choice due to having handicap family members who do not have the option for a booth.) When the manager came to the front (his name was Juan), we asked again how much longer since we kept being told just a little longer and that we would be the next, his response was it's still going to be a bit of wait. We then decided to leave and while we were walking away, we didn't even get past the door when the hostess made a sarcastic remark saying "bye!" As she crossed our name out. The manager just sat and did not say anything or offer us any other options and just said "mhm" as if he was agreeing with the hostess. If I could give this place less than one star I would. Came here for my mom's birthday, and everybody was just frustrated, disappointed, and left pretty angry. The waitress and the rest of the staff never smiled, they all walked and talked like they hated their jobs and were still hungover from the night before. Drinks remained empty, orders messed up (when the food actually arrived after an hour of waiting), and after only half of the food arrived, it took another 30 minutes for the rest to come. Do get take out from this restaurant. They do not package the food well. So when I got home the bottom of the bag fell out. I was nearly in tears because it had been a long day I had spent a lot of money on the food and I waited over 20 minutes for it. Even though I called it in I was there at the appointed time. Then when I spoke to the manager she said I had to bring the food back even though I had a picture of it all over the grass next to my car. So my husband had to put all the food in a garbage bag because that's what it was garbage put it in my car and bring it back to cheddars for them to just give me the food I deserved and still was leaking all over the place when I got at home and messed up my car. Wow this place is so bad we didnt even get to eat here. Checked in at 8:30 on a Friday night, we were told 25 min wait and given a buzzer. No biggie we'll go wait in the car, there was nowhere to sit in or outside as there was LOTS of people waiting. 25 minutes go by and no buzzer so we decide to go in and check. Oh yes while we're waiting in the car a guy approaches and asked my husband for money!! Anyways once inside the hostess was RUDE and said they called for us at 8:36 and since we didn't answer she didnt have a table for us. My husband asked why the buzzer never went off, get this it only goes to the curb!!! Its now almost 9pm and we're frustrated so my husband asked how long till they could seat us, turns out they have a table. We get seated and look around I see AT LEAST 5 empty tables, so why would the hostess say they didn't have any ?? Its HOT in here and no it wasn't just me several patrons are fanning themselves but yet we still decided we've come this far lets just eat. We sit look at the menu, decide our order, wait wait wait wait. FINALLY we give up as no one has taken our drink order or said a word to us. I can't go as far as other reviewers and post a completely negative review here. This is a chain and while it's not going to be the best food you've ever had in your life, it's predictable and for the most part consistent. Reviewing negatively because it is a chain is a bit ridiculous. I have had no issues with service or cleanliness when I've been. I'm seated promptly, given a menu, my drink order is taken when I'm seated. I generally get the chicken strips, which are plump and juicy. The ceasar side salad is often way over dressed. The green beans can be bland. This is my biggest nit with them--that the food can at times be bland or sloppy, hence the three stars. I'm not making excuses for them; they are a chain, you will get chain food here. They are always extremely busy so you should expect a wait if you go at peak times. read more

Disgusting. 20+ dirty dishes sat on the bar counter my entire time there. My medium rare steak came out well done and my loaded baked potato only had cheese and sour cream. I watched the bar tender use what I hope were clean glasses that sat behind the dirty ones. When they ran out they just "cleaned as needed" to fill drink orders. We went there to eat with our family and friend. The Resturant was very busy. We were tired and expected quick service. The waiter was slow and not much caring. I like going to Cheddar's for their drinks. They have really great options and they have good bartenders. As for the food I am partial in liking and loving their dishes. I do think they need to cut the lettuce a bit more for the salads. The times I have been recently, they have ran out of their rolls and have apologized for the wait. (I feel bad for the servers feeling bad for the customers having to wait on rolls). They are good though. A friend of our ordered a Philly cheese steak and his bread bun was super hard, he couldn't take a bite from it. I ordered the lemon pepper chicken and it was a bit dry but it had great flavor to it. This place is HORRIBLE. I've given them numerous chances. First of all the place is freezing cold. I asked if they could make it a little warmer and the waiter stared at me, like I was an idiot, and said, sure he'll tell them to do something about it. Nothing was done. The table behind me complained to a different waitress, she immediately had them turn the heater on for them. I've tried the hot wings (gross), caesar salad (not even on the menu and tastes not right), shrimp (had a gross uncooked flavor), chicken strips (dry), steak (had to send back because it looked like jerky and was over cooked instead of medium like I ordered it), broccoli (was frozen when brought to me instead of warm), and fries (only ok tasting thing). This restaurant is gross and I definitely will not be coming back. They didn't comp anything after I complained each time I went, didn't care that I wasn't happy, and to top it off they don't even know how to serve peach tea. At 11:30 first wanted to seat 2 if us in a booth for six.... In the same room w two large parties. Can we say loud.... Then when we asked for another table she cops at attitude..... As if how dare we question where she puts us. She then takes us all the way across to the other end of the restaurant ( and we're both disabled and walk w visible issues) and attempts to seat us in the bar complete with screaming toddler. We visited Cheddar's on 31st August. The service was very good . The food, we had the Wisconsin cheese for appetizer, presentation, a very small portion looked as it had been thrown onto the plate, dripping with grease, even the waiter agreed it looked dreadful. The cheese had no taste. No seasoning at all. We tasted it and left it. We had a rack of ribs with fries and carrots. Also chicken pot pie. The ribs tasted as they had been heated in a microwave had a lot of varying temperatures throughout. The Chicken pot pie was so salty neither of us were able to eat it. We managed to chock down a bout a 1/3 of the ribs between us but the sauce was so salty we gave up. We were very disappointed. We will not go back to Cheddar's again. We did tell the waiter why we had not eaten the food, he apologized but we had to go to another place to eat. Stay away from Cheddar's unless you like a whole lot of salt. read more

Horrible! Ordered the Cajun Pasta, only had one small piece if sausage in it, tasted like they just threw gravy over pasta, with some Cajun spice and called it good. I'm rating cheddars based on the mostly good days I have there, but every once in a while they drop the ball big time. The restaurant: nice place, usually clean, good lighting, every once in a while they forget we're not eskimos and have the a/c on blast. My wife takes a sweater just in case every time. 4/5 The service: always friendly and attentive but tend to miss the details like silverware or the sauce that's supposed to come with the food or those extra whatever u asked for after u ordered. 3/5 The food: here is my problem. I have had GREAT meals here, but every now and then I've regretted coming that particular day. For example, the famous chicken tenders are always tasty. Get some buffalo sauce and ranch on the side or done tangy honey mustard, doesn't matter, you'll love it. BUT, about every third or fourth time they serve me these tiny things that are barely bigger than my thumb, my side of broccoli is bigger than the actual main dish. I leave hungry because I refuse to order more when I know that's not their regular size but the waiter plays dumb like its normal. Or no buffalo sauce on the buffalo wrap?! They aren't great with medium-well steak either, u either get medium or well done. That aside it's all still tasty but those things bug me. My wife complained the house salad was just lettuce and croutons with 1 grape tomato, i laughed but yeah that's not how it's done. 3/5 All in all it's a 3.5 out of 5 but I have to round up in good faith. I have been to the Cheddars on Austin(Pflugerville) several times and the service and food is pretty good and I was so disappointed with the service at this Corpus Christi location. Waiting an hour before being seated and was told it would be 15 -20 minutes. Then another hour before we received our main dishes. The reason for the long wait was due to a shift change... I think that has to do with poor management!! The manager took our door order and comped us an appetizer. Several different guys tried to pitch in and get our drink orders but we didn't have a waiter/waitress for 30 minutes. It was such a mess. I have never experienced anything like this before. I will definitely never go to this restaurant again. I was hoping for a nice dinner with my mother and Aunt but that was a big fail thanks to this Cheddars location. Food is ok, Service is some of the worst I have experienced. I went on a weekday , it was steady, seated right away, I sat there for 10 min before I was greeted by anyone. I ordered a water and the others I was with 2 drinks from the bar, took another 10 min before we got our drinks. Ordered finally, no only did we not see the waiter till our food came out but they brought our salads out with our meal? who does that? then to top things off after we paid, we were sitting chatting and the waiter comes back and takes our receipts and then has the nerve to count the tip right in front of us. Food took forever to arrive, chicken tenders were over brined and the meat lost all of it's texture...it had a mushy mouth feel...not very appealing. The chicken tortilla soup contained no chicken at all, and was topped with so much cheese that it lost all of its heat right through the middle of the bowl. It was just short of being cold. Waiter forgot all sauces and kept forgetting the order in general. I couldn't believe all the poor reviews, so i just went for it. I should have known better.
