My Mom and I came here out of curiosity one day. Neither one of us had ever been to Cheddar's. I am proud to say that we had a very great time. We ordered a lot of food and the portions were huge!! I could never forget the taste of Cheddar's food. Although the Macaroni and Cheese needed a bit seasoning, our overall night at cheddars was a blast!! read more

The food is pretty good and the prices are amazing. The staff is always friendly but the only issue is that my order always tends to get messed up on top of taking forever to come. This happens all the time but the prices and food quality keep me coming back read more

Prices are good ... the decor of the restaurant is niceFood is mediocre only thing I enjoyed were the nachos

There aren't many Cheddar's in the area so because I was in Brandywine I decided to stop in. Service was very mediocre, food was decent at best. Waitress never came to check on us, it Took forever to get our checks. Food was a bit dry. I ordered the Chicken Tenders and Shrimp. The tenders were a bit too dry. If the server was more attentive of our needs I probably would've enjoyed myself a bit more. read more

We had a very pleasant visit to Cheddars on October 3rd. It was my best friends birthday amd the party was pretty large and due to covid the regulations made it almost impossible for the party to be close to the same area. But the manager Mike and Server Aaron were extremely accommodating and gave A1 service. If we return to Cheddars it would be for that reason. read more

I ate here for the first time this evening. Everything was fine until I bit down on a piece of plastic in my Caesar Salad. They waiter apologize an said he would take off $1 off our bill. After the manager came out she said that's all they could do and inform the kitchen staff. Clearly they are not customer service driven. Why would I want to go back after only $1 was taken off my bill for finding plastic in my Salad. read more

Gave one star because we weren't served or even acknowledged after being seated for 15 min. Visit was on a tues at 7pm. Not busy at all. Waitress passed our table 5 times at casual stroll without a glance. So we sat....and sat with our menus and made it obvious that we were waiting but nada.... Got up walked out. Went to De Soul which is in a shopping center nearby and waters and service within 1min of being seated. I don't pay for BAD service. Our 1st and last visit to Cheddars read more

I love me some "Chedders" biscuits . They are topped with a sweet glaze and I swear that why I keep on coming back. They have a variety of entree options but , so far I have tried the lemon pepper chicken and the bourbon glazed salmon with the sweet potato, Mac and cheese, and broccoli casserole. The area is a bit rough seems like but the good food is worth it. I will definitely keep this restaurant in mind when on this side of town. read more

Went here during lunch time when it wasn't busy and the food was fresh, tasty, hot, and good. Cheddars has good food and prices. My family and I walked into cheddars and there was about a 35 minute wait and we waited about 15 minutes and then our buzzer rung when we went inside they gave our table away to people who came after us. Waited another 10 minutes or so then we sat down. Waitress came around 10 minutes later took our drink order then took a little while to bring our drinks and appetizers. Once we ordered our entree's the waitress went and took another tables order and they arrived around 40 minutes after we did. Waitress took their drink order then was chatting for a while then went and put in our order and their drinks and stuff. The table behind us got our food before we did and we waited around 2 hours for our food and we just up and left without eating our main meal. Waitress, food, and prices were awesome but the service is bad. read more

I love Cheddars I ordered the ribs meal it's good. The wait is long at times but it's a very nice dining restaurant.

Service here is not the greatest. Even the management is not on point with customer service. Food arrived, missing items. Our waitress was all over the place. She gave us the wrong bill and didn't seem focus. read more

I've had a bad experience only once at this restaurant. My friend and I were seated and waited 20 minutes on a slow Weekday around 3pm to have not one waiter greet us. Inquired about online with management and they were quick to respond and graciously rectify the issue. The food, portions size, drinks and pricing is always amazing. The only real problem this specific has are the teens that need to focus on customer service and their willingness to work. My friend and I have been back since the incident and had a great time and plan to keep going. read more

This should be rated higher, but as several have already stated, the customer service is just not that great. Pros 1) Very good food 2) Very good location (right in front of the movie theater) 3) Great selection Cons 1) A confused and poorly trained staff 2) LONG waits, even on weeknights 3) The wait is not just for seating, it's mainly for getting your food. We waited 45 minutes to sit down, and then almost an hour to get our food! Overall, the food quality slightly outweighs the poor customer service and long wait, but just barely. Do not get me wrong, glad it is in Brandywine though! It just needs to be better run. read more

After reading several negative reviews I decided not to patronize this establishment but at the last moment my man persuaded me. We decided to risk it and I'm sooo glad we did. Our service was great (thanks to our waiter Leonard); and the food was tasty. I ordered the glazed salmon. The first one was extremely salty so I sent it back but the chef made me a new fillet that was to die for. I even liked the broccoli. My man had a rack of ribs which were good - but definitely not "falling off the bone". The BBQ sauce was also nice. My only complaint was the room temperature. It was 92° outside but freezing inside. My teeth were chattering and my food cooled rapidly. We will be back though. read more

We sat at the bar our server Serena was the worst! She was inattentive, left our menus in front of us the entire time, we ate an entire appetizer before she brought us silverware. Our meals were served 20 minutes apart my salad took almost an hour to make. This place was ok. Staff is predominately young. So they will take their time. The food is good. The prices are better.

The worst service ever. The hostesses are stupid and not attentive, she even tried to mock uds under her breath at one point. Very unprofessional. One of the managers lied to us numerous times about the notification devices to alert you for your table, We came in 3 separate times agter the device went off and they acted like we did not know what we are talking about. The food is decent and the wait staff is OK...but they dropped our food on the floor, and we had to wait even longer. Come here during the week mid day before rush hour when they can actually pay attention to detail. read more

Reading the reviews for this place so far, it seems like I was one of the lucky ones. The wait was pretty long, but, it's a new restaurant in the area. It's something you pretty much have to expect in the first few months a place opens up. Once we were seated (a party of six), I started to worry about the service. It took a bit for someone to come to the table and take our drink order, and as it turned out, the guy who took our drink order wasn't actually our waiter for the evening. Our waiter was apparently on his dinner break and would be helping us later on. Turns out he was sitting at a table directly across from us the entire time. Now, I'm not going to begrudge anyone for taking a dinner break, but when the restaurant is packed, and there are people waiting an hour+ to get seated, maybe the best place for employees to take their break isn't a booth in the dining area. There were several employees over there just hanging out, and I caught our soon-to-be waiter occasionally glaring over at our table. When the polite young man who took our drink order came back with the drinks, I told him that I'd rather he be our waiter for the evening. I'm glad I did, because it seems we got one of the few competent, friendly servers in the place. I thought the food was good. Generous portions for a decent price. I had the chicken tenders, which were HUGE, and a few sides. I couldn't finish it all, and to be perfectly honest, I am a girl who likes her food. All in all, two appetizers, two alcoholic drinks, and entrees for the entire party of six came to under $100. I was impressed. So, I'll definitely try this place again and cross my fingers that I get the same waiter. PS: Try the honey butter croissants. read more

More like a 3.5 star review: With a name like Cheddars, I was expecting some cheesy (literally!) burger place serving some kind of hundreds of varieties of unique cheddar cheeses--classic American fare that I could surely pass on. But after friends suggested we go, I figured we'd give it a try [read: the mention of $6 top shelf long islands suddenly peaked my interest]. And I'd say from good to bad, we got way more than we bargained for. What wasn't so great? 1) My Cheddar's experience began with a less than desirable hour wait. For this to be a new restaurant, you really don't know if the hour wait is worth it or not. So you're on the fence like should I stay? Should I go? Thankfully, enough others will probably have this same debacle and they'll leave. So I don't think you'll actually wait the hour. We waited about 20-25 minutes before 2 seats opened up at the bar and we just sat there. Thank God for bars! I'd suggest only waiting if you have the time to spare and if you're not already starving. 2) The fish tacos were completely underwhelming. And this only ended up being okay because I'd already filled up on our appetizer, bread, and 3 cocktails. I took it home but nowhere in the day did I have that ooooooooooooooooh-that's-right-I-have-leftovers-from-last-night's-slice-of-food-heaven feeling. Feel me? 3) It was freezing in there bordering on uncomfortable. I get that it was humid outside so of course you'd have on a/c but they had on the a/c PLUS a whole bunch of fans. And clearly, we all had on summer clothes. I felt like I had to get drunk just to stay warm! What was just okay? 1) The honey butter croissants. Although the croissant itself was flaky goodness, the honey butter thing just didn't work out for them. It made me think they were trying to copy HOPS and these croissants are not as light and airy as HOPS. So they work as simple croissants but not as honey butter croissants. What stands out? 1) The decor. Let's just say when I walked in, I immediately had to take back any idea of cheesy burger place. With the exposed brick, high ceilings, dim lighting, and windmill feature, Cheddars immediately gives you a feeling like you're in the swanky wine cellar of a rich Italian socialite. The dark chocolate hues of the furniture bring an elegant warmth. It seems very trendy yet romantic. I saw a lot of children and families but the decor says grown and sexy only. 2) Our bartender was rather umm how shall I say....endearingly ratchet--like a Miley Cyrus onesie twerk. She was very loud but she worked her butt off behind that bar and gave quality service. She's definitely the perfect bartender for anyone trying to turn up! 3) The prices. Tall-tales of the $6 top shelf long-island traveled far and wide. And so I simply had to see if this was true. And IT IS. These prices are ridiculously low. I'm talking about $13.99 for steak and shrimp low. You're kidding right? No they're not. I don't know if this is because they're new and trying to establish themselves but drinks to entrees to desserts = more than affordable. So I advise you to take advantage!!! My chicken quesadilla appetizer for 2 was like $8.49 and my whole meal was like $7.99. My Passion Punch, which comes in a tall glass and isn't the least bit skimp on the liquor (I watched her make it) was $3.99. The Mr. got a margarita with 1800 for like $4.99. Hubby and I spent $56 on 2 entrees, 5 alcoholic beverages, an appetizer, and bread. That's unheard of!!!! We usually spend that at Olive Garden or Red Lobster when we're not drinking. So even though my meal wasn't the best and I had to wait, I like this place and plan to come back. I mean with prices this low, surely the good outweighs the bad. I could probably taste the whole menu for $50. So I'll just keep coming back until I find the perfect combination of food and drink. read more

Service was absolutely horrid. I went the first week it opened and enjoyed my experience, but the second time around the staff was not focus on customer service. It took 10 minutes to be acknowledged, drinks were made from a measuring glass and most of it went down the side of the glass or on the bar. My meal came in pieces and finally I waited another 15 minutes to be cashed out while the bartender counted tips and ended her shift. I won't be patronizing this distasteful place again. read more

So I decided to read a few of the reviews before I wrote mine. I must say, this place gets crowded VERY quick, and am sure that is what attributes to the so-so service ( not that that should be a valid excuse). However I went during the lunch hour and was greasing by friendly staff and seated quickly and our sever was wonderful!! Very polite and checked in us frequently, almost too much lol!! As most have stated, the prices are great and the food is good, there were 4 of us and we ordered grilled catfish, ribs, key west chicken and shrimp and chicken fried steak. We all sampled each others food and everything was good!! But I must give a special nod to the ribs and grilled catfish!! Delicious!! read more

Went on a Wednesday night and there was a slight wait. Because the slogan of the restaurant is handmade food I was just expecting better. I was not impressed. I stated that maybe once the kitchen staff is a bit more experienced the food would get better. I was with a friend that compared his Charlotte, NC experience to the Brandywine, MD experience. It was a bit noisy and our waiter left off a few things as she either didn't hear us clearly or wasn't focused. The corn is good but the portion was that of a kiddie plate for both the sides we had but the salad as a side was huge. I had the ribs and shrimp combo and the shrimp were grilled and were just OK and the ribs were not fall off the bone quality but were OK. The strawberry tea was horrid and even our waiter stated she doesn't like it. I understand the strawberry lemonade is made with real strawberry but the strawberry tea is with a strawberry syrup. You should pass on that. I will stick to Mike's American Grill for my quick pasttime for now. May give it another shot in a few months. Lastly, I tried to do a survey but because I do not have the waiters name and another 3 digit or 4 digit code I can't complete it. That sucks because I have tossed the receipt. read more

Our dining experience at cheddars in Brandywine, MD tonight was by far the worst this year at any restaurant in Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia or New Jersey. Four of us were seated at a table with only two menus. We had to request additional menus from the staff. Our table was sticky as it had not been wiped down from the previous customers. It took about 20 minutes before we could flag down a buss boy to take care of it. We were literally holding our folded silverware in the air while we waited for the table to be cleaned. Two of our group ordered the signature "painkiller" drink. When the drinks arrived it was clear that they were served in warm glasses as the ice melted very quickly and the drink was not really cold. When we brought this to the attention of the server she said that she could not take the alcoholic drinks off of the check. She asked if we wanted to talk to the manager...we requested the manager. A gentleman came by our table, we asked him if he was the manager, he said he was. We brought it to his attention that the drinks should've been served cold or ice cold were actually warm and that the glasses were still warm like they just came out of the dishwasher. He explained to us that one of the refrigerators or freezers was actually broken and that because they were so busy today that the glasses didn't have a chance to cool down in between services. He never offered an apology for the inconvenience or for the fact that we were not satisfied the drinks or the table top. Neither the manager nor the server ever apologized for any inconvenience such as the table being sticky or the drinks being warm. In the end the food quality was good and we were ready to go. Got the check and gave the waitress a $100 bill with a $10 coupon for the meal. She should have brought us back $69.64 as the change. She actually bought back only $69 and no change along with no receipt to show us how much we actually paid. My questions for the management of this cheddars restaurant and the cheddars brand is, if a customer is not satisfied with the service or quality of an item should someone on your staff offer an apology if it is in fact the restaurants fault that the item does not meet industry standards like cold items, cold and hot items served hot? Change, receipts and apologies. In the past year during numerous visits to restaurants of the same type as cheddars if a problem existed, a team member or a manager always followed up and offered an apology if we were not satisfied with the food item. This is the kind of customer service that we have grown to expect but did not receive at your cheddars restaurant. Big questions we have tonight? Why does a server not bring back exact change for a check or offer a receipt for a check? In my opinion cheddars failed on all levels of customer service tonight. If we could we would give no stars, Happy only to complete the survey at www.cheddars.tellcv.com read more

We waited 15 minutes for 2 adults and 1 baby on a Sunday at 530 PM. No big deal, however there was half the restaurant open when we were being seated so I'm confused to why there was a wait time. After we were seated we were greeted 5 minutes later (our server was chatting to the table next to us). It then took 15 minutes after to get our waters (our only drinks at the table that we ordered so far) and it came with my salad (my appetizer and she also stopped by the table twice before dropping off our drinks and app). Food was eh. Definitely not worth the money or drive for us (we had a Cheddars in our home town before it was corporate and so worth it). My husband ordered a margarita before we ordered dinner and It didnt show up until after dinner. We drove 45 minutes to come here for my husband's birthday and they were "out of birthday cookies". No biggie cause that isnt the point of us going out. It's just a nice gesture when we only go out on occasions and a birthday being one of them. All in all, our server was too busy chatting with her friends to take good care of us and I could honestly cook the same food that they did, so it made it not our worthwhile. read more

I had never been here before yesterday. I had heard good things about the restaurant, but I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. The service was absolutely atrocious. The restaurant is dark and there did not appear to be 1 competent server among them. I asked for what I thought was a simple drink (water w/ lemon). I got the water with no problem, but the lemons did not come until my meal showed up which was a salad w/ shrimp and chicken. The salad looked like someone had just poured it out of a bag. As for the rest of my party, their food came out cold. They didn't return it because it took so long to get their food in the first place. But the kicker was when the bill came. We actually had to wait an additional 15 minutes for the waiter to come get the payment and seemed a little annoyed that we asked for change. I give them the 1 star because the rolls were great. read more
