Buss Down Blues Combo and 4. Full Combo

I guess I was supposed to order the sauce separately. This was dry and unseasoned. I'm also sure this is not a half pound of the ingredients. Maybe a half pound all together. I also got the Seafood Macaroni and cheese which had NO cheese. Pics looked good on Instagram. Don't be fooled.

    Overcooked old shrimp.

We got ALFREDO and a FULL COMBO. The Alfredo was good. The FULL COMBO was the issue. 1 shrimp was good and the rest were mushy and falling apart. The egg had a gray ring around it. The sausage was meh. There was zero flavor. The crab legs, corn and potato were the only items not overcooked. Never again.

I pre-ordered for a pull up in Reston, Virginia. I ordered half a dozen buss down large male crabs and a crabcake. My total was $80. The flavor was good but these crabs are definitely not large male crabs. They are hardly even medium crabs and more along the lines of catch them and throw them back so they can grow a little bit more because I feel bad like I'm eating baby crabs ! The crabcake was also about $26 for a single crabcake. You got me once but you won't get me again! If you delivered the crab size that you indicated then this would've been a five star review. The single crabcake was also sad for $26.

    The shrimp was not cleaned

Had to wait over three hours for the food it was horrible dry and the Owner refused to acknowledge his wrongdoing and offer any compensation

My camera made the food look good but the taste was average. I had to doctor it up.

Disappointed. I saw the marketing on IG social media and it seemed like the services and the food were good and I kept telling myself I'd go check it out to support the black own business. We'll I received a message that Crab Boss would be in my area, so I decided to take advantage of that. I had my sister place the order since I wouldn't be able to pick it up to make a long story short she texted me to let me know they sent her a message after 6 pm and the pickup time was 6:30 pm. She was already on the train. They Said they had issues with the transportation, they said they would be there at 8 pm NOPE they showed up after 9 pm with several people waiting with no apology unacceptable. I did send a message before they arrived asking for a refund and still crickets. I received the food since they never responded to my refund. The crablegs look good. The shrimp weren't deveined, and the potatoes overcooked. The egg was the best out of the dish. I would not recommend it at all and I usually would've even left a message but the last-minute communication is unacceptable and then no response not GOOD at all. I pray Crab Boss takes this feedback and better their service and the food!

We got a couple of the little boss/a dozen extra large crabs and the crabcake platter!! sausage was good corn was good.

Crab boss said they were coming to Fredericksburg I was super excited. I looked over the reviews and you haters gotta stop. The food was absolutely delicious, crabcakes were on fire extra large crabs were so meaty. The customer service was great as well.

I don't enjoy leaving bad reviews, but some times it's just necessary. Today I placed an order at noon online. My order was for $143.08. I was so excited because it's my sisters birthday and we've been craving crab legs. I was referred to this restaurant and couldn't wait to try it. Upon arrival, I parked on the side of the building and waited until 12:36, when my order said it would be ready. I got there a little early because I have my newborn baby with me and didn't want to rush. In my online order, I selected curbside pick up. Once my online order was approved, they sent me a confirmation text with a link to notify them of my arrival. I then waited in my car to the order to come out. Around 12:40 I began to call to see if someone could bring it out- remember my newborn is with me, and I didn't want to have to unload her in the rain to go inside. No one is answering. At 12:45 I decide to take her out of the car and go to the door. The lights are off and the door is locked. What is more upsetting than the $143.08 is the waste of time. I drove 30 minutes here and waited over 30 minutes for nothing. This was a miserable experience with a newborn who was just crying the entire time because she needed changed and fed. What a great birthday for my sister. I have left a voicemail and emailed the restaurant about my order. I am still waIting to be refunded for food I never received. I would strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Waiting for my platter! Had to take a selfie haha

We wound up eating up at least 3 hours in this restaurant. The staff was great - bar staff included, even teased us (nicely) when we tried raw oysters for the first time and after, requested them to steam them with their special spicy sauce. Raw was not for us lol, but truly - a great staff with great food. Oysters (cooked) - 5 out of 5. Soup - 5 out of 5. Fried shrimp - 5 out of 5. Entire experience, 5 out of 5!

Then below that we could choose corn sauce or spaghetti , and below that you had to choose from the options of crawfish , shrimp , muscles , oysters . after choosing the seasoning and the heat level , my wife asked if she could do double shrimp oppose to e other selections because she is not a fan of crawfish or the oysters and muscles . the waiter came back to the table after placing the order and shared that double shrimp is not an option , he would have to charge us for an entire bag again just for shrimp , he didn't want to do that . Confused , nothing on the menu suggested you could not get two of the same options . the waiter brings out our bags , and to our surprise , no crackers or pickers . I asked , why they don't have the crab tools , found that odd . You serve food that requires you to crack it open , what if I had Dentures and was unable to use my teeth , or what if I have a lack of Strength in my wrist to tare into the hard shell. I wasn't Pleased at all , that's like saying I serve beverages but have no cups . the seasoning I chose Was Cajun and hot , it wasn't hot at all and it was extremely salty , so between the saltiness and the inability to crack open some of the crab legs with my bare hands , I was Turned off and just took the rest of mine to go . My wife chose fire and her seasoning wasn't as salty but definitely not hot at all , they had no cayenne pepper at all (we asked ) . would I return probably not , I hope That my revue can be used to enhance , perhaps some one else found this place better than we did .

I love a server who doesn't hover but always checks to see if everything is going well. She def rocked! I have been so excited to get on and share how incredible this place is since we left. My husband asked if I wanted to go back, within the week. This is *UNHEARD* of. I don't know if he has ever loved a restaurant so quickly and so MUCH. He's been craving seafood boils for a few days now, so he suggested we go this afternoon. We went around 3-4pm. The crowd was minimal, but still, there were probably 15-20 tables full. It's a nice sized restaurant , about the size of a "pub"/local dive bar. The hostess was really welcoming (no eye rolling or impatience!!). She greeted us with a smile and a kind gesture and promptly sat us in a booth. The entire restaurant was clean, whimsical and smelled like old bay and garlic. Great art and seafood accoutrements all over the walls and booths The music was 2000s R&B and couldn't have been more perfect. Our server was incredible. We were given two very easy to understand menus and a "basket" of popcorn! It tasted like movie theater popcorn , our cups which were paper cups and a paper table cloth which lent to the "crab house" vibe we love so much, "seafood sauce" (mayo based siracha sauce think, with old bay? - it's like a spiced Big Mac sauce), clarified butter, cocktail sauce, gloves, a garbage pail, crab cracker tools and plastic silverware, and wet wipes and bibs (which I used because of course I visited in a white shirt!) After no more than a 10-15 minute wait, we had our boils "Rocked and Tossed" right to the table!! Seasoning 100% covered everything!! We ordered: Freshly brewed, 1/2&1/2 sweet/unsweetened tea. (It was very reminiscent of Chick-Fil-A tea/McDonald's tea...the good kind!) Not overly iced. So delicious!! Husband: 1 combo boil with snow crab legs, sausage and extra corn, (comes with corn and potatoes), garlic seasoning and medium heat. His garlic sauce smelled to die for. Very well rounded, (I tasted it). It had sliced garlic in it and wasn't too salty at all. The medium heat wasn't too hot, but don't take my word for it, get the heat level you like. His crab legs pulled *perfectly*. The sausage was wonderfully Smokey with that crispy/crunchy edge. The corn was tender and juicy, not overly cooked and the potatoes melted like butter. Me: 1 combo boil with snow crabs and crawfish and added hard boiled eggs (also comes with corn and potatoes), "Rocking Bomb" seasoning (old bay, garlic, lemon pepper, Cajun). *I have never had crawfish THIS good in my entire life.* I genuinely cannot describe the euphoria I had with words, but I'll try. They weren't muddy/fishy. They absorbed the flavors so well, yet preserved the firm but tender texture of the meat. They were very easy to break into, just like the crab legs. Nothing got stuck or jammed. The eggs were a balanced addition, soaking up all that awesome flavor. I ate one half way through and the second at the end. Again, nothing was abnormally fishy. Seafood can, at times, taste a little too oceanic. Everything came out piping hot, but not so hot you couldn't tear right into it. Both boils were nice and buttery. We tried using the gloves but ended up tossing them. They have sinks right in the open so it is easy to get up and wash up if you get too messy. (The bathrooms are on the smaller side - with the women being two stalls, and I didn't see any others, so the extra sinks really come in handy). There was a very kind gentleman bussing tables. He was fast and thorough. He was very pleasant to us as we walked by him. Very courteous!!! If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Literally nothing was bad. I cannot wait to go back and hope they stay in business for a millennia to come. I believe we found THE best seafood boil restaurant in all of Maryland!!

Service is fast, they bring everything you need up front, then they let you eat in peace. Now, I wasn't really happy about our seat but I couldn't see behind the wall to know if there was another table to request to move to. We were sat in the front corner I guess directly under a vent and it was already chilly outside. I didn't let it bother me because I really wanted to try ERRTHANG on the menu. Now, this is where I was about to get up and leave. We sat for a good while and NO ONE came to greet, take a drink order, or even ask have we been helped. I want to say it's because we were somewhat out of sight. Because it was freezing I got up and asked for another table, which was on the other side of the wall with all the other customers and much warmer even with the patio bar doors open. No, I don't remember my waiters name, but he came over immediately and apologized for us being stranded in the back. We went on to order our drinks which came fairly quickly and we ordered our food. I was kind of disappointed because he said they no longer served fried crab legs and should be taken off the menu, but that's OK. I was ready to order something else. I had Chef Mo's Shrimp & Grits and when I say it's the best shrimp and grits I've ever had in my life. It was amazing. The grits were three cheese grits with crawfish, étouffée, and large perfectly shrimp with some BOMB jalapeño beef sausage, which I would have removed, but I said let's do it. Best decision I've ever made. I cannot stop thinking about the grits. My friend ordered the Cajun fried fish and grits with a side of eggs (no pic). We both raved the entire time about how creamy and delicious the grits were. I didn't need to add anything, no butter, no salt, no sugar. They were absolutely amazing and I'm not even a huge grits fan. Now, the fish, the menu stated half a pound, which came out to be one small piece of whiting. I guess I was expecting a bigger piece or maybe two pieces because it was so tiny but that baby filet was seasoned to the gods, I mean perfect. The breading was so flavorful but not overpowering or salty. The eggs tasted like the eggs I had in the marines out of a bag, but he mix them with the grits and was fine. Everything was so good that we thought about coming back later that night to try something else. Please bring back the deep-fried crab legs

There are surprising number of chicken options here for a place called, "This Is Seafood", but not quite as many seafood options as I hoped. I was really looking forward to getting an order of fried scallops for lunch and I was a little disappointed they didn't have them on the menu. I decided to get the Combo #4: 3 whole wings, 6 fried shrimp, and my choice of 1 piece of fish and side dish. For my fish, I chose fried catfish and for my side I chose hush puppies. The combo also came with a fountain drink. I decided to mix their house-made lemonade and house-made iced tea and it made the perfect half-and-half. The wait wasn't too bad, as the food was being freshly made. It was piping hot and crispy when I received it. Those shrimp were huge! Some of the biggest fried shrimp I've ever had...And not those butterfly shrimp either. Whole shrimp, and the tail was removed so I didn't have to worry about accidentally crunching on one of the shells. The catfish was delectable! Perfectly seasoned, delightfully crispy, and absolutely melted in my mouth. So good. I'm coming back for the catfish if nothing else. The wings were perfectly fried, nice and crispy, but they were a bit too light on the seasoning for my taste. And the mumbo sauce tasted too similar to barbecue sauce. I did not like that, so I ended up saving the rest of the wings until I got home to put my own mumbo sauce on them. The hush puppies were also really good. I like that they were fried perfectly and weren't greasy... Even after reheating them. Overall, my lunch cost me about $25 and it was enough food for at least two meals. Can't beat that. I'll be back for that catfish.

Large enough for large groups and small parties and also a seated bar area. There was one or two picky eaters and everyone was able to find something they enjoyed as the menu is quite large. I find the price perfect for the amount and quality of food received. This has been one of my favourite restaurants for creole food and will continue to be in the dmv area.

I also ordered the brussel sprouts which were fried perfectly however, I didn't get to taste the sauce until I decided to bring the dish home then, I could taste the sauce from what I poured into the container onto the brussel sprouts and then they were delicious! Maybe they can find a way to have the sauce throughout the dish The bread pudding was just okay also. The staff was delightful. They paid attention to detail and made sure to check on the table regularly. The restroom was really small. I would go back and try another dish.

Just the Black-owned healthy food spot I've been looking for in the Temple Hills area…read more Food : 9/10 -- I had the the unCrabaKALE on top of the CranKALE salad and it was out of this world! Whatever seasoning they use is chef's kiss -- I selected garlic as a topping but I could tell there was more going on. The crab meat was warm and perfectly seasoned too. My only note: the 16oz eats more like a side salad than a main dish. For $13 it's competitive with a Sweetgreen or Cava, so next time I'm just sizing up to the 32oz. Service : 8/10 -- The young lady at the register was pleasant and made sure my order was complete. I did wait an extra 5-8 minutes past my 5:55 pickup time, but nothing major. Ambiance : 9/10 -- Not your average salad spot. The vibe is cozy -- think relaxed bar & lounge on a smaller scale. Love that the menu item names are fun and creative, though the menu itself feels a little busy and could be simplified. I'd love to see Kenny Kale franchised on a larger scale someday. Overall: 9/10 -- Kenny Kale is killing it and is def a keeper on my list I found this place and ordered the same day -- that's how excited I was. I'm genuinely thrilled to have a unique, healthy restaurant in the area that isn't another Chipotle, Tropical Smoothie, or..... fried chicken spot that keep getting placed in Black communities instead of diverse, health-forward choices. And did I mention it was black-owned?! lol nonetheless, it's a literal breath of fresh air. I'll definitely be back!
